The latest release, HbbTV standard v2.0, provides additional features to HbbTV applications. Among the most important advancement of this version was the addition of the Push-VOD service. In this paper we focus on the broadcast method principle of Push-VOD services presented in the HbbTV v2.0. We investigate various technical aspects that have remained open questions in the standard to provide a first reference on the depth analysis of HbbTV based Push-VOD services. In addition, we propose and analyse a first solution for a reliable Push-VOD service delivery within file delivery protocol. This solution is based on the LDPC-Staircase AL-FEC codes using the hybrid (IT/ML) decoding method. Simulation results show that the merging of the repetition and the AL-FEC coding allows to inherit the benefits of both repetition and coding. A reliable file delivery is assured with low recovering complexity and download time.","PeriodicalId":174688,"journal":{"name":"2016 8th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129932247","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Illegal repeaters are installed by end users, without the consent of authorities, because they are considered to be a cheap solution to the low signal strength problem. As these devices are not controlled by the operator, they transmit using a high power, thus jamming the useful signals and degrading the link's quality. In this paper, we propose and develop a Software Defined Radio (SDR) tool for the detection and localization of illegal transmission in both 3G and 4G networks. In our approach, we implement a direction finding tool on the Universal software Radio Peripherals (USRPs) and complement it with statistical analysis tool for the 3G network. Extensive lab and field test results show the high accuracy of the developed platform yet with a reduced cost.","PeriodicalId":174688,"journal":{"name":"2016 8th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115090561","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To enable this bidirectional end-to-end data communication, narrowband power line communication (PLC) systems are attractive because they can be deployed over existing outdoor power lines. The paper describes PLC technologies, especially narrowband PLC technology. The recent advances in power line noise characterization, measurements and modelling were analysed. Based on this analysis, the experimental measurements of power line noise influence in 3-500 kHz range were identified as a challenging problem and yet seldom reported. Therefore, the paper describes the experimental measurements and the influence of particular noises on the narrowband PLC communication. Based on noise analysis and measurement results, adaptive communication approaches was discussed and a method for managing the power line topology and noise analysis is proposed.","PeriodicalId":174688,"journal":{"name":"2016 8th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT)","volume":"203 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116175936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The process includes the database construction, with 43 participants, based on facial features extraction and a multiclass Support Vector Machine classifier. The system was first tested offline using Linear kernel and Radial Basis Function (RBF) kernel. In the offline evaluation, the system performance was quantified in terms of confusion matrix, accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, Area Under the Curve, and Mathews Correlation Coefficient metrics. The RBF kernel achieved the best performance, with an average accuracy of 93.6%. Then, the real-time system was evaluated in a laboratorial setup, achieving an overall accuracy of 88%. The time required for the system to perform facial expression recognition efficiently is 1–3ms. The results, obtained by simulation and experimentally, point out that the present system can recognize facial expressions accurately.","PeriodicalId":174688,"journal":{"name":"2016 8th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT)","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122837509","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, a use case at the AUDI A8 production line was picked for which an application already has been implemented. Ways to optimise power consumption have been examined and the usability of the application was improved by continuing applying the Human Centred Design process as described in ISO 9241-210. Hence, users were interviewed and their opinion on Mock-Ups and (functional) prototypes have been considered from the very beginning of the development process. The application finally was evaluated in a testing environment. It could be used without the interruptions by overheating or lack of battery capacity, which occurred before. Furthermore, the participants were able to fulfil their work tasks about 25 s faster than without the device.","PeriodicalId":174688,"journal":{"name":"2016 8th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT)","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114383648","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, systems that can synthesize emotions, for example virtual characters (avatars) and robotic platforms, are gaining special attention in the literature. In particular, those systems may be important tools in order to promote social and emotional competences in children (or adults) that have some communication/interaction impairments. The present paper proposes a mirroring emotion system that uses the recent Intel RealSense 3D sensor along with a humanoid robot. The system extracts the user's facial Action Units (AUs) and head motion data. Then, it sends the information to the robot allowing on-line imitation. The first tests were conducted in a laboratorial environment using the software FaceReader in order to verify its correct functioning. Next, a perceptual study was performed to verify the similarity between the expressions of a performer and those of the robot using a quiz distributed to 59 respondents. Finally, the system was evaluated with typically developing children with 6 to 9 years old. The robot mimicked the children's emotional facial expressions. The results point out that the present system can on-line and accurately map facial expressions of a user onto the robot.","PeriodicalId":174688,"journal":{"name":"2016 8th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123836400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Complementing macro capacity, small cells (femto-, pico-cells) offer a cost-effective way to meet this demand for complex indoor areas. Inspired by this increasing demand, we provide in this paper a comprehensive summary on our live trial of transmission power optimization within the full-featured 3GPP LTE-A indoor deployment. To deliver a comprehensive view on the configuration of TX power, we perform an evaluation between our previous results provided by our implemented PyLTEs software and our optimized configuration. In order to deliver a complete picture, the obtained data from simulator is complemented with the real measurement in LTE-A indoor deployment. Our findings show that performed changes lead to improved of all measured networks parameters as latency, RSRP, RSRQ, and RSSI. On top of this, the discussed changes are not bonded with the particular LTE deployment - therefore, the utilization is not restricted and can be implemented in various indoor LTE deployments.","PeriodicalId":174688,"journal":{"name":"2016 8th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT)","volume":"199 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116222557","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The storage system must be secured against passive and active types of attacks for efficient protection of the stored data. The aim is achieving satisfactory level of security of the storage system and at the same time maintaining the desired level of reliability, which arises when there are node failures. In our work we apply this concept in a Twin-code framework, in presence of an intruder who can observe and modify the stored data on the networks nodes. We are making a new code construction, which is simultaneously secure against passive and active attacks and at the same time satisfies particular bound for reliability. Moreover, for this construction we are proving the level of security under the above mentioned constraints.","PeriodicalId":174688,"journal":{"name":"2016 8th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT)","volume":"7 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130122921","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, an online closed-loop control of the tool center point movement offers the possibility to realize trajectories fulfilling high accuracy requirements. Thereby a robot independent external control efficiently interoperating with manufacturer specific robot controllers enables multifunctional usability. For a suitable external control, algorithms are needed, by which corrected movement instructions for each interpolation cycle are calculated, being compliant to the dynamic capabilities of different robot types. In the paper, control algorithms for calculating fine interpolation points are introduced, which serve the purpose of compensating positional deviations. The algorithm for compensating deviations on linear path segments is based on a movement orientation point forerunning the actual robots' position. In circular segments the corrective directional changes are limited to achieve smooth movement results. Multiple tests performed at real robot systems prove the effectiveness of the method.","PeriodicalId":174688,"journal":{"name":"2016 8th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115537588","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
