Gereç ve Yöntemler: Araştırma, İzmir’in Ödemiş ilçesi 1. No’lu Aile Sağlığı Merkezi’ne kayıtlı 15-49 yaş grubu 273 kadında yapılmıştır. Verilerinin toplanmasında soru formu ve Rudolf H. Moos tarafından geliştirilen Menstrual Distres Şikayet Listesi (MDQ) ölçeği kullanılmış ve yüz yüze görüşme yöntemi yapılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde t testi ve varyans analizi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan kadınların yaş ortalaması 30,05±9,13’tür. Premenstrual ve menstrual dönemlerde MDQ ölçeği alt gruplarından en fazla negatif duygulanım ve ağrı alt grubu saptanmış, alt grup semptomlarından premenstrual dönemde en fazla gerginlik (%76,6), memelerde ağrı hassasiyet (%74,4), menstrual dönemde ise en fazla karın ağrısı-kramplar (%76,6), sırt-bel ağrısı (%73,3) şikayetleri yaşanmıştır. Kadınların %46,4’ünün perimenstrual şikayetlerle baş etmek için ilaç kullandığı saptanmıştır. Premenstrual dönem MDQ ölçeği toplam puanı ile kadınların çalışma durumu, sigara içme, aşırı çaykahve tüketimi, kişiler arası ilişkilerde bozulma yaşama, şikayetler için baş etme yöntemi kullanma durumları arasında anlamlı ilişki saptanmıştır. Menstrual dönem MDQ ölçeği toplam puanı ile yaş, medeni durum, çalışma durumu, doğum sayısı, yakın aile bireylerinde perimenstrual şikayeti olan, kişiler arası ilişkilerinde bozulma yaşayan ve şikayetler için baş etme yöntemi kullanan kadınlar arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ilişki saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Araştırma sonucu, kadınların negatif duygulanım ve ağrı alt grubu perimenstrual şikayetleri daha fazla yaşadığı belirlenmiş ve şikayetlerle baş etmede etkin yöntemleri kullanmadığı saptanmıştır. Material and Methods: This study was conducted on 273 women between 15-49 years of age who were registered to Number 1 Primary Health Center in Ödemiş district of İzmir. The data were collected by using a questionnaire form and Menstrual Distress Questionnaire (MDQ) developed by Rudolf H. Moos and face-to-face interview technique was used. In the analysis of data was performed by “t” test and variance analysis. Results: The mean age of women was 30.05±9.13. Women had experienced mostly negative sensibility and pain which were in MDQ sub-groups during both the menstrual and premenstrual periods. The most common premenstrual complaints were tension (76.6%), breast pain sensitivity (74.4%), and the most common menstrual complaints were abdominal cramping-pain (76.6%), back-lumbar pain (73.3%).
