A Botnet is a network of computers which are compromised under the influence of Bot (malware) code. This paper clarifies Botnet phenomenon and discusses Botnet mechanism, Botnet architecture and Botnet detection techniques. Botnet detection techniques can be categorized into six classes: honey pot based, signature-based, mining-based, anomaly-based, DNS-based and network-based. It provides a brief comparison of the above mentioned Botnet detection techniques. Finally, we discuss the importance of honey pot research to detect the infection vector and dealing with new Botnet approaches in the near future.","PeriodicalId":174433,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communication Systems and Network Technologies","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131770100","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The idea is to improve the image content by fusing images like computer tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images, so as to provide more information to the doctor and clinical treatment planning system. This paper aims to demonstrate the application of wavelet transformation to multi-modality medical image fusion. This work covers the selection of wavelet function, the use of wavelet based fusion algorithms on medical image fusion of CT and MRI, implementation of fusion rules and the fusion image quality evaluation. The fusion performance is evaluated on the basis of the root mean square error (RMSE) and peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR).","PeriodicalId":174433,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communication Systems and Network Technologies","volume":"319 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116422347","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it is not convenient and quick to get information because we have to spend much time to find what we need in many relevant web pages. It is more difficult to deal with the video information, but there is vast video information in the internet because of more and more people have become video creators. Therefore, the problem of how to recommend users relevant information has attracted many researchers' attention. Recommendation technology has developed quickly in the recent years. In this paper, we set up a video search engine with the open source project \"Lucene\", propose a semantic recommendation method and combine the search engine with the semantic recommendation technology. We do experiments to verify our method and analyze its shortcomings. From the experiments, we can see that the approach introduced in this paper can reach a better level than the traditional search engine. Both keywords and sentences can be processed by the system because the system understands them.","PeriodicalId":174433,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communication Systems and Network Technologies","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121850979","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different type of data have different features, that is why for images different techniques were evolved to protect confidential data from unauthorized access. Encryption techniques used for encrypting textual data does not work with images, so separate encryption techniques are required for images. So, we proposed here a new scheme for image encryption which is helpful for end to end secure transmission of digital information on open network using explosive block displacement followed by inter-pixel displacement of RGB values.","PeriodicalId":174433,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communication Systems and Network Technologies","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125961284","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cyclic redundancy check (CRC) is essential method for detecting error when the data is transmitted. With challenging the speed of transmitting data, to synchronize with speed, it's necessary to increase speed of CRC generation. Starting from the serial architecture identified a recursive formula from which parallel design is derived. This paper presents 64 bits parallel CRC architecture based on F matrix with order of generator polynomial is 32. Proposed design is hardware efficient and required 50% less cycles to generate CRC with same order of generator polynomial. High spectral efficiency, immunity to channel interference and nonlinear distortions are some advantages of OFDM. But frequency offset and high peak-to-average power ratios (PAPR) for large number of sub-carriers are two major drawbacks for practical application. This paper presents the PAPR reduction techniques for OFDM system such as interleaving and different phase rotation schemes. Selected mapping (SLM) and partial transmit sequence (PTS) are applied with mentioning distinct conditions for the application of these techniques. This paper also presents helical interleaver in OFDM system, for the reduction of system complexity and significant reduction in memory requirement as well. Evaluation is done on the basis of mathematical analysis and mentions best way to simulate in step-wise manner in MATLAB.","PeriodicalId":174433,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communication Systems and Network Technologies","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124198749","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
