Current harvesting method relies on the experience of the harvester and by counting the number of fruitlets that have loosely fallen on the ground. A rapid and non-invasive method such as the Raman spectroscopy, that can determine the ripeness of the fruits can serve as an assisting tool during pre-harvesting. The challenge lies in the complex signal processing methods during the pre-processing of the raw Raman spectrum which highly relies on human expertise. Thus, this study aims on developing an automated and optimized signal processing algorithm that could eliminate the need of an experienced personnel in processing the raw spectra which mostly relies on experience and intuition. The process involves peak selection, noise smoothing using Savitsky-Golay filters, interpolation and peak fitting. This article focuses on optimizing the Raman spectra peak fitting during pre-processing before significant features are extracted from the peaks to be fed as input into the machine learning model. Three profiles for peak fitting that have been applied are Gaussian, Lorentzian and Voigt. The findings show that after optimization, the best fit percentage for Gaussian profile is 33%, Lorentzian 42% and Voigt 24% which is in line with the manual peak fitting method where Lorentzian profile dominates the best fit. This result shows that the Lorentzian profile or its derivative could be used as the dominant profile for automating peak fitting during raw Raman signal pre-processing.","PeriodicalId":174315,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 18th International Colloquium on Signal Processing & Applications (CSPA)","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114867815","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A solution to this problem is the usage of stand-alone PV-powered streetlamps. However, the unwise way of operating these systems leads to quick battery insufficiency. In order to prolong the system time usage and guarantee security, in this paper, we propose a light controller based on fuzzy logic and future traffic forecast, which adapts the brightness of street lamps according to road demand and the battery’s remaining energy. First, we developed a model for traffic forecasting based on a real-world dataset. Then the light controller is validated by simulation in Matlab. The results indicate that the proposed light controller is able to extend the autonomy of the light system while at the same time ensuring security on the road.","PeriodicalId":174315,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 18th International Colloquium on Signal Processing & Applications (CSPA)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123865168","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With such a large population, the demand for electricity increases proportionately. At the moment, the JAMALI interconnection system serves the majority of Indonesia's electricity consumers in Jawa, Madura, and Bali. On the other hand, improving the electric power system's safety quality is a requirement that an electric power system must meet. To ensure the power system's security, the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm was used to run several contingency scenarios (N-1). The ACO algorithm was implemented in this study through the initial parameter initialization stages, the probability value calculation stage, and the 0/1 knapsack problem calculation stage using the maximum cost function. The test is conducted by varying the capacity of the knapsack. According to the results of the voltage performance index on the JAMALI 500 kV system, the highest value was 95.39 on line 35 connecting bus 26 (Bangil) and bus 27 (Paiton), followed by NaN on line 56 connecting the Krian and Gresik buses. While line 59, which connects bus 46 (Grati) and bus 47 (South Surabaya), has the lowest ranking with the lowest value at 95.14.","PeriodicalId":174315,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 18th International Colloquium on Signal Processing & Applications (CSPA)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126663851","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This work examines the coil reactance approach when doing coil analysis by finite element method. The approach of magnetic vector potential is applied to an asymmetrical coupler with multiple transmitting coils and a miniature pickup coil. Rounded-tip ferrite cored receiver is used to improve coupling. Comparison with the experimental results showed the numerically computed values are within an acceptable range of ~5 %. The observed pairing effect between multiple transmit coils is confirmed with the experimental result which further validates this approach. The method discussed herein can be applied to design a wireless coupler to power multiple light emitters in a cylindrical photoreactor.","PeriodicalId":174315,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 18th International Colloquium on Signal Processing & Applications (CSPA)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128136440","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The leading information used for achieving that information is bathymetry, backscatter strength measurements, and its derivatives. However, like any other measurement system, the depth and its derivatives are contaminated by the uncertainties inherent in MBES and its auxiliary used sensors, survey configuration and environment. Therefore, using any bathymetry derivatives without accounting for these uncertainties might hamper the result of acoustic seafloor classification. In this contribution, uncertainties from the real MBES observations are estimated and compared with the available models of MBES vertical uncertainty from the literature. The uncertainties were calculated from the different water depths of 8m, 20m and 29m. Generally, there are some discrepancies between the predicted model and the measurements, but the differences are relatively small and within the order of magnitude of the predictions. The echo-sounder contributes the most to the total vertical uncertainty. Further investigation, such as accounting for slopes when measuring the MBES uncertainties, should be imposed to reduce the standard deviation, and the results could reflect that the uncertainties left were contributed from the MBES only. This indicates the importance of the MBES uncertainties knowledge when the bathymetric features want to use for sediment classifications.","PeriodicalId":174315,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 18th International Colloquium on Signal Processing & Applications (CSPA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129726806","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This can be seen from the distribution of the addition of daily active cases in Indonesia which is still changing dynamically. An alternative solution that can help to analyze the prevention of the spread of the virus is modelling and simulating the spread of cases to estimate the description of pandemic conditions that may occur in Indonesia. A common and widely used epidemiological-based model is the SIR model, which groups individuals affected by a pandemic into several compartments. Using this modelling and utilizing the concept of machine learning technology, the modelling process can be carried out more efficiently and accurately. In this final project, two models are developed, namely SIR and one of its derivatives, SIR-F, based on machine learning concepts to estimate and simulate various scenarios of virus spread. There are 3 scenarios developed for analysis, namely the scenario without a vaccination program, a vaccination program with a health protocol that is adhered to, and a vaccination program that is not followed by a health protocol. Based on the scenario simulation, it was found that the vaccination program could have a positive impact on efforts to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic more effectively when compared to the scenario without vaccination. Meanwhile, if the vaccination program is not supported by adequate health protocols, then vaccination will not have any impact on the prevention effort. These results apply uniformly to the results of the SIR and SIR-F models. Overall, it can be concluded that the developed model can carry out all its functions as needed, with the level of accuracy through the MAPE metric reaching 0.412 for the SIR model and 0.022 for the SIR-F model.","PeriodicalId":174315,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 18th International Colloquium on Signal Processing & Applications (CSPA)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129959790","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It leads to a range of undesirable outcomes, including people suffering from fractures or having their bones broken. Clinically, a standard assessment protocol in syncope, head-up tilt (HUT) table test, was introduced. However, this assessment is limited with its unstable sensitivity and time consuming (40-45 minutes of tilting). Therefore, the aim of the study is to design an algorithm to classify subjects with and without syncope based on physiological signals (electrocardiography and blood pressure) acquired from front-loaded HUT test. The study selected a total of 52 people, 25 of whom were syncope negative and 27 of whom had syncope. Subject was rested in supine position for 10 minutes, followed with tilting at 70-degree on a tilt table for 20 minutes. Once the subject is tilted, an 800 micrograms of glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) was administered. A series of physiological signal processing and relevant hemodynamic parameters were computed. Then, feature selection was carried out with recursive feature elimination (RFE), to eliminate and determine the optimum number of features. A support vector machine (SVM) classifier was then used to classify the selected features via 5-fold cross-validation. Our model achieved an accuracy of 86.5%, precision of 85.7%, and recall of 88.9%.
