This fact makes the process error-prone and expensive in a matter of time and effort. This study aims to classify non-functional requirements using a Shallow Artificial Neural Network to support the requirements classification while analyzing its architectural features. We used an existing preprocessed dataset to compare the results. The non-functional requirements classified were: availability, failure tolerance, maintainability, performance, scalability, security, and usability. A set of experiments were performed to adjust and analyze the features of the Artificial Neural Network: number of neurons, activation functions, additional hidden layer, and learning rate. The obtained neural network, which resulted in a simpler architecture, outperforms the results reported in the literature for that particular dataset.","PeriodicalId":174166,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130769619","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is not always posible to have the actual plant for initial testing, algorithm debugging and controller adjustments, because of safety and economical and operational considerations. Using scaled plants is costly and time-consuming and it does not completely eliminate the inherent danger of disruptions and failures caused by the testing of algorithms. A major drawback of testing is the imperative need for interaction between the controller and the plant to be controlled, in order to achieve reliable and safe controller settings. To overcome this drawback, there are different alternatives; among them, the processor-in-theloop (PIL) approach, which allows the observation of more realistic performance of the algorithms at an affordable cost. This paper presents an implementation guide for the PIL approach between Matlab / Simulink and Texas Instruments' C2000 family control hardware. This approach is applied to the evaluation of synchronization algorithms for distributed generation units. In particular, two algorithms for phase-locked loops (PLL) are considered: DSOGI-PLL and DSOGI-PLL with FLL; the Matlab / Simulink PLL is used to validate the implementations. The PLLs are processed in a digital signal controller (DSC) and electrical power system are implemented in Simulink.","PeriodicalId":174166,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"193 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121797384","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The converter integrates a $LC$ filter as part of the topology, in order to avoid the demand of pulsating current to the input source and decreasing the EMI effects. Consequently, the system becomes sixth order by having six elements that store energy. Therefore, the model and design of a linear controller under voltage control with specific characteristics for renewable applications is proposed, where some aspects of the system dynamics are considered.","PeriodicalId":174166,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132678928","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper is compared the performance of three smart inverter functions: volt-var control, volt-watt control, and fixed power factor, regarding the reduction of voltage fluctuations along a radial distribution feeder. The metric chosen for the comparative analysis is the total number of tap operations performed by the step-voltage regulators held by the distribution system during a day. Quasi Static Time Series simulations were performed on the IEEE 123 Node Test Feeder with three photovoltaic systems connected to different nodes, using the software OpenDSS and Python. Analysis of the simulations demonstrates the effectiveness of volt-var and volt-watt control approaches in significantly reducing the number of tap operations by more than half.","PeriodicalId":174166,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"391 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116285515","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the main components in Smart Grid is the use of Embedded Systems that allow the processing and communication of a great diversity of information and applications. However, using these technologies brings a series of new challenges, one of them, cybersecurity. Mechanisms are necessary to provide security to the information shared between the devices that make up the Smart Grid; cryptography is one of the most used mechanisms. This article presents a study of cryptographic techniques implemented in embedded devices (Raspberry Pi), using two cryptographic suites and a hardware security module (ZYMKEY). A comparison is made of algorithms used in smart meters to provide authenticity to said devices.","PeriodicalId":174166,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122722620","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the current solar cell technology only allows an energy conversion efficiency of up to 20%. Furthermore, PV systems exhibit a unique operation point with maximum output power given certain weather circumstances. The determination of this operation condition is called the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) problem. We utilize a behavioral cloning (BC) paradigm to solve the MPPT problem for a PV system composed of a DC-DC boost converter and a load resistance. The BC-MPPT objective is to mimic expert behavior through its demonstrations. We use a perturb and observe (P&O) MPPT algorithm as the expert, the most popular MPPT algorithm due to its trade-off between ease of implementation and performance. Demonstrations are obtained by running this algorithm in the PV system and recording its behavior (i.e., its chosen actions). However, the demonstrations set rarely span all the system's state space, so the learned behavior might not generalize well to unseen states. We use two regularization techniques to overcome this issue: early stopping and weight decay (i.e., L2 penalty). BC-MPPT has a continuous action space, which allows a smooth and more accurate control action to achieve the maximum power point. We verified the proposed algorithm through several simulations with actual solar irradiance and ambient temperature data, showing that BC-MPPT can achieve up to 97% tracking efficiency, 3% better than the P&O algorithm.","PeriodicalId":174166,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122202855","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditionally, the electrical signal analysis tools are based in the Fourier Theory, ideal for stationary-linear signals. Therefore, a time-frequency analysis based on the Wavelet Synchrosqueezed Transform (WSST) is proposed in this paper. Three electrical signals are here analyzed: 1) Synthetic voltage control signal, 2) Harmonic oscillation and 3) Electromagnetic transient response. From the obtained results, it can be seen that the WSST reduces the spectral spots clarifying the time-frequency plane, from which it is possible to identify the displacement of the oscillation modes with more energy content.","PeriodicalId":174166,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129001035","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
