This therefore calls for thorough investigations on alternative materials which can potentially be used to replace sand either partially or fully to help preserve rivers which are the major source of sand. Sand harvesting is associated with drying up of rivers which causes water problems to the communities during the dry period. At present, the identified alternative sources are manufactured sand (mechanically crushed rock sand).This source proves to be expensive as machinery must be purchased purposely for crushing the aggregates and extra cost must be incorporated with this process. The alternative sought should therefore be of a lower cost compared to what is currently in use. The research examined the use of Kunkur fines to test its potential for use as an alternative to preserve the drying rivers. The research used quantitative design to examine its variables which extend from the raw materials, fresh and the hardened concrete. Kunkur fines from EAPCC quarry is a potential material for partially replacing sand up to 50% for fine aggregates in concrete as it qualifies the tests which are required to regard a material as having sufficient structural strength and suitable for use as fine aggregate. An increase of Kunkur fines in the blend slightly reduces the strength of concrete. Up to 50% replacement the blend gives sufficient structural strength of 20N/mm 2 and above with further increase of Kunkur recording lower values than the design strength. Kunkur has low silt content which is slightly higher than that of sand by 0.91% but below the maximum required percentage by BS 812 of 5%. The research recommends the use of Kunkur fines as it will help reduce the amount of sand harvested in the rivers annually by half and this will reduce the effect of water scarcity in the affected areas. But as we observe that nowadays, various solutions are been developed to convert paper news system to digital news and raise the bar of the quick news. And that’s how News Recommender systems are have made an important place in our fast running lives.This research paper has investigated the News Recommendation solution right from its core, including the importance, performance, and improvement suggestions. This paper talks about enhancing the performance of states solution by using modified Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) algorithms. Proposed solution advocates the usage of JAVA technology which reflects fruitful results in the final graphs of accuracy, precision, and F-score. Shrimp has high water content, causing quick spoilage of the product and degradation of its quality from post-harvesting to end-consumers. The use of formalin to prolong the shelf life of shrimp has become a raised issue in the food safety field as formalin could have negative impacts on human health. Therefore, its use in food products is prohibited. The electrical impedance spectroscopy could be used to detect the food additives such as formalin in shrimp. This paper discusses the impedance of the shrimp after soaked in formalin solution. The shrimp samples were soaked in the different concentrations of formalin solution and stored for five days. The shrimp without formalin was used as a control sample. The electrical properties of the shrimp samples were measured using the electrical impedance spectroscopy method using frequency from 1 Hz to 1 MHz each day. The results show that the impedance of the shrimp decrease with an increase of the storage time. The shrimp with formalin experience a slower degradation compared to the shrimp without formalin. Higher the formalin concentrations (10% - 40%) added to the shrimp causes a slower texture change on the shrimp compared to lower formation concentrations (1%-5%). The impedance of the shrimp decrease with the increase of injected signal frequency. The AGV robot described here is a PIC microcontroller based, and is developed with three degrees of freedom. (Light following, wall following & pit avoidance capability). The robot contains the USB 2.ocompliant PIC 18F455o microcontroller, motors, sensors, wheels, battery, etc. The robot uses four IR sensor modules and two LDR circuits. For this situation, in this paper we proposed a robotic chair which move automatically and follow the tag. These tags are predefined and fixed at valve or table. There are a number of different modulation techniques used in WDN-PON systems but here the comparison is made among carrier-suppressed return-to-zero (CSRZ), duobinary return-to-zero (DRZ) and modified duobinary return-to-zero (MDRZ) modulation. The comparison to determine which is better is made my performing simulations in OptiSystem version 17 software. OptiSystem 17 is the current version of the software at the time the simulations were being carried out. In the OptiSystem software an optical fiber system is simulated from transmitter all the way to receiver. In the experiment when checking the performance of the different modulation formats, the optical fiber and the receiver are left unchanged and only the transmitter part is changed according to the modulation format being simulated at that particular instance. The modulation in the transmitter is done by using proper components from the OptiSystem library which when organized in the right order will give out a signal modulated in a certain format by the time it is fed into the optical fiber. Knowing the performance of modulation can help in WDM PON where the network gets to use passive components as it goes to user. The paper explores the potential for deploying blockchain within existing organizations to support smooth conduction of charity funds from the donor to the actual needy person using a stable Ethereum based Blockchain oriented platform. In this fast developing world of modernization, some people are becoming too competitive to earn money while others have no clue about getting even a penny. But at the same time, there exist people who wish to contribute to the society out of altruism. There exist many online donation platforms in the world and yet issues concerning extra fees, accountability and processing delay still exist as well as these existing centralized systems for charities are so corrupt that people lose belief in these trustless systems and hence the charities become futile. Performance of any project is measured by the extent of meeting the standards laid down at the start of the project. Risk management has been conceptualized as having a great bearing on the outcome of projects. The purpose of this study was to investigate risk management in relation to performance of National Government Constituency Development Funded construction projects in Nairobi County. The objectives of the study included; to assessing the influence of resource risk management, to investigate the role of risk management procedures, to analyze the influence of risk management policies and finally to develop a framework for enhancing proper risk management in the CDF projects in Kenya. A survey research design was used. The study employed a probabilistic sampling technique of simple random sampling in data collection. The study found a positive correlation between NG-CDF construction projects performance and all its explanatory variables investigated in the study. The study established that Construction risk management is extremely critical for every company. Not knowing where there might be risks on a project leave companies vulnerable and ill-prepared.
