Data hiding approach represents a class of processes which are implemented for embedding data into different formats. In this approach, secret message occurs along with the secret information. The steganography is defined as a process through which information produced from one source can be concealed into other sources. This thesis work presents a novel methodology for image steganography. The tested result demonstrated that the proposed technique shows its supremacy in terms of PSNR and MSE. The PSNR value of proposed approach is increased up to 15 percent in comparison with earlier approach. In comparison with earlier approach, the MSE value of proposed algorithm is decreased up to 10 percent.","PeriodicalId":173799,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Soft Computing and Engineering","volume":"316 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124291947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As customer satisfaction is the manifest of this ever shining field, balancing its load becomes a major issue. Various heuristic and meta-heuristic algorithms were applied to get optimum solutions. The current era is much attracted with the provisioning of self-manageable, self-learnable, self-healable, and self-configurable smart systems. To get self-manageable Smart Cloud, various Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI-ML) techniques and algorithms are revived. In this review, recent trend in the utilization of AI-ML techniques, their applied areas, purpose, their merits and demerits are highlighted. These techniques are further categorized as instance-based machine learning algorithms and reinforcement learning techniques based on their ability of learning. Reinforcement learning is preferred when there is no training data set. It leads the system to learn by its own experience itself even in dynamic environment.","PeriodicalId":173799,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Soft Computing and Engineering","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126469732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Resources’ costs and intensified rural-urban migration increase demand for sustainable housing. Modern knowledge-based-economy uses innovation. Construction industry uses product and process innovation to provide adequate and descent low-cost housing. Kenya adopted innovation practices of slum upgrading that uses cost effective locally available building materials. This study looked at the outcomes; social and economic impacts of innovative construction in housing in the Mathare Valley Slum upgrading project Methods: This post occupancy study used exploratorydescriptive research design. Random sampling was used to sample 384 users of low-cost housing projects in Mathare Valley, Nairobi County. Research instruments included semi-structured questionnaires and interview guides. Pilot study, validity and reliability tests ensured quality of study. Ethical considerations included university approval and consent. Statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) software version 21 was applied to compute the descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings: Slum-upgrading had significant-positive outcome on improved houses and community. Social impacts included communal facilities; assurance of security of tenure; and retained frameworks of establishments. Economic impacts included employment; affordable and durable units (p values <0.05). Upgrading process did not influence rent fees, was corrupt and led to displacement of residents. Conclusion: Slum upgrading process affected positively. Similar projects should consider residents in decision-making.","PeriodicalId":173799,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Soft Computing and Engineering","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126385759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The growth over the years is appreciable. The main reason behind the successful growth of the Hyperspectral imaging field is due to the enormous amount of spectral and spatial information that the imagery contains. The spectral band that the HSI which contains is also more in number. When an image is captured through the HSI cameras, it contains around 200-250 images of the same scene. Nowadays HSI is used extensively in the fields of environmental monitoring, Crop-Field monitoring, Classification, Identification, Remote sensing applications, Surveillance etc. The spectral and spatial information content present in Hyperspectral images are with high resolutions.Hyperspectral imaging has shown significant growth and widely used in most of the remote sensing applications due to its presence of information of a scene over hundreds of contiguous bands In. Hyperspectral Image Classification of materials is the critical application of HSI using Hyperspectral sensors. It collects hundreds of spectrum channels, where each channel consists of a sharp point of Electromagnetic Spectrum. The paper mainly focuses on Deep Learning techniques such as Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Artificial Neural Network (ANN), and Support Vector machines (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbour (KNN) for the accuracy in classification. Finally in the summary the current state-of-the-art scheme, a critical discussion after reviewing the research work by other professionals and organizing it into review-based paper, also implying about the present status on classification accuracy using neural networks is carried out.","PeriodicalId":173799,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Soft Computing and Engineering","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133909589","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Students from these two streams were chosen (N=60, mean age = 19 yrs.). Participants were shown a list of concrete words and were urged to make mental images. The images made by the participants were covered by the Experimenter by the congruent and incongruent pictures. The effect of masking was compared among the high and low imagery usage participants. Two t tests were computed to understand the significant differences between the means. A non-significant t of 1.031 was obtained for the high imagery expert group while, a significant t of 4.699, p < 0.001 with df 58 was seen for low imagery expert group. Additionally, a two-way ANOVA was computed followed by Tukey’s post-hoc test to understand the difference in the overall recognition scores between the high and low imagery usage groups, the effect of masking on memory, and the interaction effect of both the variables.
