A wavelet transform method was used for this purpose. Specifically, this proposition has been applied to combat the large peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR), which is one of the major Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system's drawbacks Furthermore, Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) technology also imposed to enhance the wireless systems performance. To draw the best performance of this work, a MATLAB simulation has been used and it is divided into three main stages; MIMO-OFDM symbols' reconstruction based on wavelet transform, then a predetermined thresholding formula that is used, and finally, imposing moving filter. This algorithm is called Peaks' detection based Entropy Wavelet Transform; PDEWT. Moreover, a numerical analysis also used to check its validity. Based on our simulation and under some constrains such as the bandwidth occupancy and the complexity structure of the transceivers, a peak detection ratio has been achieved and reaches around 85%. Comparing to our previously published works, the PD-EWT enhances the detection ratio for 25% more peaks.","PeriodicalId":168063,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 11th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD14)","volume":"87 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131143984","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After modeling the whole system, this paper presents the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) control method of DFIG-based variable-speed wind energy conversion system. Then, the modeling of DFIG for control has been studied and has been devoted to the synthesis of the DPC control. In fact, this strategy is based on selecting of the appropriate rotor voltage vectors, according to requirements of stator active and reactive powers. Simulation results show the performances and the failures of such control strategy.","PeriodicalId":168063,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 11th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD14)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132289474","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Energy management control is essential in order to handle the variety of prime movers which may include different types of renewable energy sources (RES) and energy storage systems (ESS). Specifically, the recharging process of secondary battery, the most prominent ESS, should be done in a specific manner to preserve its life-time, microgrid line voltage must be kept within the bounds and the energy offered by RES should be utilized as efficiently as possible. This paper proposes a coordinated control strategy based on power-line signaling (PLS), instead of common communications, for a single-phase minigrid in which each unit can operate in different operation modes taking into account the resource limitation. The whole system is explained ahead and finally, Hardware in the loop results obtained with a dSPACE are presented in order to validate the proposed control strategy.","PeriodicalId":168063,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 11th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD14)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114670021","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Power rating of this new technology can go up to a hundred kW and it represents a main challenge for its broad acceptance in distribution systems. In that sense, growing number of these stations, if operated in a non-flexible regime, will start to cause problems in future distribution systems such as overloads of local network's corridors and reduction of its total equivalent spinning reserves. A power balancing strategy based on a local energy storage system (ESS) is proposed in this paper. Flywheel has been selected as the means of storing energy as it provides high power density and does not have significant performance degradation along its lifetime. Implemented control algorithm uses the energy stored in flywheel to compensate for the peak of power introduced by HEV charger, avoiding big initial stress in grid converter and also is able to limit the maximum extracted power. In addition, feed-forward compensation has been implemented to reduce the voltage dip within the station. Real time simulation results, that prove the validity of proposed approach, have been presented.","PeriodicalId":168063,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 11th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD14)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122058820","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, errors of the crystal output frequency are presented and accumulated due to the environmental temperature, load, and change of the excitation voltage, nature aging and other reasons. It would affect the accuracy of the timekeeping system, so that it cannot be applied to the occasions of the high-precision timekeeping clock. To overcome the errors above, this paper presents the design of a high-precision time keeping clock system. The system mainly consists of high-precision crystal (HPC), the accumulator (ACC), and Time Digital Convert (TDC) module. The HPC generates a pulse with the fixed period, and the pulse is taken as the input clock of ACC to make ACC self added according to the pre-set step. Then the overflowed signal of ACC acts as the output signal of the system's time keeping clock. When working, the system accurately measures the period of the HPC by use of the TDC module, and then the ACC stepping values are adjusted according to the measured results. It makes the overflowed signal of ACC remain the period as a high-accuracy clock signal. The system effectively eliminates the time keeping error which comes from the error and aging of the crystal. Experiments show that the system greatly reduces the cumulative time error, and the average cumulative time keeping error is 26.5ns in one week with the time keeping mean square error of 63ns.","PeriodicalId":168063,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 11th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD14)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124777901","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These nodes act as base stations and also are involved in route discovery and maintenance, forwarding traffic, and network management functions. Nodes expend most of their energy to forward packets to others without receiving any direct gain from doing so. A misbehaving and greedy node only considers its own short-term utility, and it may not choose to participate within the network. A reputation approach (RAP) is proposed in this paper, based on the reputation model that is used to detect and isolate misbehaving nodes which do not cooperate in forwarding packets of other nodes. Continuous closed form trajectories are usually given by means of analytical functions of time and show inherent discontinuities in velocity and/or acceleration profiles. In order to solve this problem, we propose an approach consisting of modifying the time function without changing the overall closed shape of the trajectory in the operational space. To deal with the actuation redundancy, an extended version of the PD controller with computed feedforward is proposed. The resulting control torques are projected using a regularization matrix in order to remove internal forces that may be dangerous for the manipulator. The proposed trajectory generator as well as the controller are implemented in real-time on Dual-V; a redundantly actuated parallel manipulator developed in our laboratory.","PeriodicalId":168063,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 11th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD14)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121621446","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The charge pump is a two-stage circuit which is composed of the conventional push-pull charge pump and the compensation circuit. The compensation circuit has a feedback biasing circuit and an op-amp to act as a voltage follower. The features of feedback circuit and voltage follower are the important elements to reduce the current mismatch. The proposed charge pump is applied in 2 GHz PLL to check out the noise spectrum of the spur and phase offset which are occurred from the current mismatch. The proposed charge pump indicates that the current mismatch is less than 5 % over the voltage range of 0.30 ~ 1.45 V which covers almost 63 % of the 1.8 V supply voltage. The spur in PLL is obtained to be -63.7 dBc, while the conventional charge pump provides the spur of -36.2 dBc in the same PLL.","PeriodicalId":168063,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 11th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD14)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116063077","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
