Community based cross sectional study was done for evaluating morbidity and expenses among cardiac drug consumers. Our study revealed that among 117 cardiac patients, 63.5% of patients suffered from hypertension, 32.7 % of patients were suffered from diabetes, 8% were suffered from cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), 4.2% from thyroid and 3.4 % from other diseases. Out of 146 families of Uttarsanda village, approximately 61% of families spend their total income for medications and healthcare and 37% families were found not to spend income on healthcare even though diseases were present. More prevalent diseases identified for spending monthly family income were hypertension, congestive heart failure, diabetes mellitus, and hyperlipidaemia. There is a need for cost effective treatment approaches in rural area of India.","PeriodicalId":16738,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Pharmaceutical and Scientific Innovation","volume":"12 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79845952","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The synergistic activity of a lactoferrin and a parasin on the test bacteria was determined by the standard checker board titration method. The results revealed that Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli showed complete synergistic effect for lactoferrin and parasin combination. E. coli showed complete synergy with the mean MIC value 0.03 μg/ml and with best FICI value 0.24 (p<0.5). And S. aureus showed complete synergy with the mean MIC value 0.12 μg/ml and with best FICI value 0.72 (p<0.5). The synergistic antibacterial activity of AMPs in combination was reported with substantial evidence against a wide variety of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. The antibacterial activity of AMPs obtained from lactoferrin and parasin in combinations was evaluated against the test organisms by well diffusion method. Maximum inhibitory zones were recorded for lactoferrin and parasin (50μg concentration). Depending on the concentration gradient of AMPs, increase in inhibitory zones was recorded. Inhibitory zones of about 9mm, 12mm, 18mm and 22mm was obtained for its respected concentrations (20μg, 30μg, 40μg and 50μg) against E. coli. Similarly, respected inhibitory zones of like 9mm, 11mm, 19mm and 21mm was obtained for the tested concentrations viz., 20μg, 30μg, 40μg and 50μg) against S. aureus. The obtained results were substantially supported when compared with the checker board titration method to describe the synergistic characters of the tested AMPs.","PeriodicalId":16738,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Pharmaceutical and Scientific Innovation","volume":"81 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84976874","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Until the end of the 19th century, dementia was a much broader clinical concept. It included mental illness and any type of psychosocial incapacity, including conditions that could be reversed called as Reversible Dementia. This should also be well differentiated from a forgetfulness which is most of the times misdiagnosed as dementia. As Ayurveda gives prime importance in preventing diseases, preservation and promotion of positive health. Ayurvedic dietics in the form of Ahara explained as Nityopayogadravyas and Vihara as seen in Achara rasayana of person has significant effect in the eradication of pathologies. Senility is a diagnostic state today and most of the times the part of elderly malnutrition is overlooked which accounts to about 70 percent of population. The reversible causes of dementia are in most cases is caused due to malnourishment of vitamins specifically B12, folic acid edible proteins in diet. The vitamins and proteins are naturally available in edible form and the drug treatment in not a necessity. Hence it is worthwhile to explore the utility of proper Ahara (Nityopayoga dravyas) and Vihara (Achararasayana) that can wisdom the treatment of Reversible dementia.","PeriodicalId":16738,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Pharmaceutical and Scientific Innovation","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78963472","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These injuries can result in immediate and long term complications likewound infection, perinealpain, faecalincontinence, faecal urgency and dyspareunia. The management modalities to cope up with this issue remains unsatisfactory. Ayurveda has a treasure of medicines which are highly effective in wound healing and pain management. The present case is a 27 year old woman, 8 days postpartum (P1L1A0) reported with a repaired third degree infected perineal tear whose Quality Of Life was29.6%impaired. On proper examination, clinical presentation of wound went parallel with the concept of dushtavrana mentioned in Ayurvedic classics. Hencean effective Ayurvedic treatment code for vranashodhana and vranaropana mentioned under the concept of dushtavrana has been planned for 10 days with a follow-up after 15 days. The patient reported appreciable improvement after treatment.","PeriodicalId":16738,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Pharmaceutical and Scientific Innovation","volume":"7 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87656454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
