First hand ethnomedicinal information was collected directly from field survey of tribal villages and forest areas of the district. Present paper deals with ethno medicinal uses of 78 plant species belonging to 47 families used locally for prevention and treatment of various diseases. Sixty two species are used in mono-herbal treatments, while 29 are used in poly-herbal formulations. Observations regarding exploitation of these species are also reported, which will help in conservation and restoration of the species.","PeriodicalId":166948,"journal":{"name":"Plantae Scientia","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115572389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

(Rubiaceae). The petioles (in T.S.) are horse shoe-shaped, planoconvex or circular in outline. They are usually winged and channeled adaxially.  The extent of development of various tissues and their distribution, besides the cell inclusions, are observed.  The vasculature is resolved into a conspicuous central arc, besides few other vascular bundles.  The central arc is horse shoe-shaped, heart-shaped, circular, lunar or crescent shaped.  The vascular arcs or bundles are capped abaxially by few sclerenchymatous layers, except few.  The shapes of petiole, petiolar wings, features of epidermis, patterns of vascular supply and association of sclerenchyma with it, cell contents, etc. are thought systematically important.  All these features are employed to prepare a key helping identification of the taxa investigated. \u0000 ","PeriodicalId":166948,"journal":{"name":"Plantae Scientia","volume":"179 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123726246","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Human beings are known to suffer from major allergens such as fungal spores, pollen grains and house dust present in the atmosphere. Inhalation of air  borne fungal spores is the main causative factor for respiratory allergic diseases in human beings. Indoor survey of aeromycoflora was performed by using Rotorod air sampler, Petri plate exposure and eosinophil count of asthmatic patient in Ambajogai. Curvularia penniseti, Curvularia lunata, Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceris and Helminthosporium maydis using poisoned food technique. The DMSO extract of S.anacardium oil was found to be more or less active against almost all tested pathogenic fungi with a varied spectrum of reduced growth. C.lunata has shown 93.3% inhibition and F.oxysporum and H.maydis have shown 94.4% inhibition and 100% mycelial inhibitions at 15% and 18% concentrations of the extract respectively. The results show that the proximate and vitamin compositions of Commelina. Diffusa included mainly moisture (83.36%), carbohydrate (6.32%), vitamin C (44.80 mg/100g dry weight), vitamin B3 (63.18mg/100g) and vitamin B2 (8.30 mg/100g) respectively. The mineral contents of the defatted leaf extracts were found to be Na (69.32mg/100g), Ca (232.00mg/100g) and Mg (84.28mg/100g). The proximate, vitamin and mineral compositions obtained suggest that the leaves, as cheap sources of vitamins C, B3 and B2, as well as other macro-and micronutrients, can be incorporated into human and animal diet to meet their recommended daily allowances. The content of flavonoids and vitamin C in the leaf extracts also suggests possible anti-oxidant effects of these leafy vegetables.","PeriodicalId":166948,"journal":{"name":"Plantae Scientia","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128214130","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Every human society, whether primitive or advanced has own vocabulary developed on their observations, experience, sentiments, dogmas and customs. Every human society tries to classify and name plants in his ambience and thereby mankind celebrates the biodiversity of his time. The present authors investigated total of 79 plant species belonging to 78 genera and 53 families of angiosperms, one species being a gymnosperm. They divulged as many as 13 bases on which the common plant names in English are coined. They obviously reveal the richness and heritage of English people.
