The COVID-19 pandemic is still raging in most parts of the world. The 4.0 industry revolution is still going faster than ever. As changes occur everywhere we are also forced to adapt and change here in Makara Human Behavior Studies in Asia. Since the beginning of this year, we have been migrating to a new website based on Digital Commons from BE Press. The process is not yet completed as there are many editions to be migrated and information to be filled in the new website. I am grateful for the support of our publisher, Directorate of Administration, Data, and Management of Research Product and Innovation (DADPPRI UI), for providing this facility. Special thanks are warranted to Hanun Thalia who has provided extra effort to help us migrate and make sure that this edition publishes on time. We are grateful to Early Melati, Nathalia Bella Christiana, and Kai Riantoputra who have aided during this critical period of our journal. But most of all I am grateful to our managing editor Dr. Muhammad Abdan Shadiqi who plays a significant role in pushing through the painful changes that we must make in these turbulent times. I am most thankful to him for this new layout of the journal. I find the design to be modern and more readable. I hope that the readers find that too. On top of that, we are broadening our types of submission. We recognize the importance of review articles in helping policymakers during this pandemic era, and we want our journal to facilitate too. We will now accept review articles in the form of meta-analysis, systematic reviews, and scoping reviews.","PeriodicalId":165722,"journal":{"name":"Makara Human Behavior Studies in Asia","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124592338","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Consistent with the leader–member exchange theory, this study also examines the moderating role of family-supportive supervisor behavior between work-life programs and work-family enrichment. Data was collected from 218 employees working in the financial sector of Pakistan. Using partial least square structural equation modeling, the study findings suggest that work-life programs have no direct effect on employment continuity; however, the results show an indirect effect of work-life programs on employment continuity through the mediating role of work-family enrichment. Although family-supportive supervisor behavior has a significant impact on work-family enrichment, the findings show that it does not moderate the relationship between work-life programs and work-family enrichment. This study indicates to organizations the various work and nonwork factors that an employee considers while making career decisions, thus encouraging organizations to engage in whole-life approach to career development to retain valuable employees.","PeriodicalId":165722,"journal":{"name":"Makara Human Behavior Studies in Asia","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122693338","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study examined the effectiveness of school-based programs to increase the knowledge of junior high school students about sugar-sweetened beverages to decrease their consumption. A oneweek intervention using a quasi-experimental design was conducted through the adoption of the Kids SIPsmartER (Lane, et al., 2017) program. The students who received the intervention showed significantly higher nutritional knowledge of drinks with high sugar content upon completion of the program. The intervention was also successful in inducing the desired attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control in students. The participants also evinced intentions of reducing their intake of sugar-sweetened beverages. Additionally, one week after the intervention, participating students reported that they had reduced their consumption of sugary drinks. The findings show that human capital (farmer’s education level), social capital, financial capital (access to credit), farmland size, institutional factors (farmland tenure status), extension service access and constraint to market are the determining factors of climate-smart agricultural technology adoption among farmers. The results demonstrate the need for policymaking designed to improve the probability of households applying climate-smart agricultural technology as the most crucial step in successfully implementing adaptive agricultural production strategies to climate change. Severe IA can contribute to relationship conflicts, poor well-being, and low productivity. Research has found that IA can be attributed to maladaptive thinking and specific personality traits and with the Big Five in particular. However, the results of previous studies have been somewhat inconsistent, with previous meta-analytical research showing insignificant correlations. This study was a replication of a previous meta-analytic study and sought to improve the accuracy and the reliability of previous findings using different and larger samples. A total of 11 studies with 16 correlations and 8,481 participants were examined for this study. It was found that the Big Five had insignificant correlations (r = −0.233– 0.061) with medium to high heterogeneity (I2 = 70.7% to 96.8%) and no publication bias (E = 0.725), which was consistent with previous meta-analytical studies and implied that personality gave only a small contribution to IA behavior. Instrumental differences in the measurement of IA and personality (Big Five) and the participant sample characteristics were the main weaknesses in this meta-analysis. The research sample comprised of 687 undergraduate students and selected through proportionate quota sampling. Sample age ranges were between 17 and 40 years old. Exploratory factor analysis showed items were laid out accordingly with factor loading for each item ranging from 0.463 up to 0.853.
