Results of such systematic and long-term measurements, gathered for large enough population and analyzed using statistic methods make possible rational management of circuit breaker (CB) assets. This Paper shows experimental studies and analysis of symptoms of changes in the state of mechanism comprised in motion characteristics made on medium voltage circuit breaker with introduced defects.","PeriodicalId":165474,"journal":{"name":"2016 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121212937","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Results of simulation performed in LTSpice are verified by a series of experimental tests at the variable input voltage (up to 400 V) and switching frequency (up to 250 kHz). Three switch scenarios were analyzed: HEMT without the anti-parallel diode, HEMT with an anti-parallel SiC Schottky and HEMT with an additional parallel capacitor. Presented waveforms of drain-source voltage and drain current during switching processes and results of power losses measurements show significant reduction of switching power losses when anti-parallel diode or additional capacitor are applied. Furthermore, an impact of the dead-time length on power losses is also discussed and an optimal choice for assumed parameters of the converter is presented.","PeriodicalId":165474,"journal":{"name":"2016 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE)","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116645993","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Energy losses in both hard and soft switching, as well as during switching on at light load current and in unloaded operation have been analyzed. The description has accounted for the effect of parasitic junction capacitances and the external capacitances of semiconductor elements, as well as the parasitic capacitance of the receiver. For deriving the relationships defining the MOSTET energy losses, the electric charge and energy conservation principle was used. The second part of the paper describes the results of simulation and experimental studies performed on the model of a dual active bridge with high-voltage MOSFETs. The obtained results are coincident with the theoretical calculation results, thereby confirming the correctness of the performed analysis.","PeriodicalId":165474,"journal":{"name":"2016 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115384566","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper results of dielectric strength measurements performed for a commercially available insulating RTV-2 silicone gel are discussed. Test cells with IEC-60243 compliant parallel plate arranged electrodes were cast in silicone gel and subjected to AC dielectric strength tests. The tests were carried out using a step-by-step voltage increase protocol, and the results are compared with those reported for other electrode configurations and obtained by means of the rapid-rise test protocol. Weibull statistical analysis of the measurement data is performed, and the impact of the test parameters, such as the electrode shape and size, the volume of the stressed material, the electric field distribution and the applied voltage rise protocol on the test results is discussed.","PeriodicalId":165474,"journal":{"name":"2016 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128955776","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Increased growth of interest in electric vehicles EV and renewable energy sources, significantly changed the approach to vehicle. EV battery pack is no longer just a vehicle for the drive tank, but it is also a distributed storage for energy from the power grid. To ensure the automation of the flow of energy best fits is inductive contactless power supply system with bidirectional energy flow. These systems are based on inductively coupled resonant circuits and offer many properties that affect the high efficiency energy transfer. However, to develop a high-performance system for contactless energy transfer, is necessary a suitable transformer. The article presents the 3D modeling, the aim of which is to determine the inductance of the transformer system IET and the coefficient of magnetic coupling between them.","PeriodicalId":165474,"journal":{"name":"2016 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE)","volume":"105 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134236083","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

No additional measuring devices, e.g. current transducers, are necessary for proper operation of the converter. The controller constitutes part of a control system of wide-band power electronics current or voltage sources. The paper presents an idea and principles of work of such controller. Also, results of converter simulation model studies are presented.","PeriodicalId":165474,"journal":{"name":"2016 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133747397","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The detection is based on load torque estimation of the investigated torque transmission system. The load torque is calculated besides the computation of other variables that are mandatory for sensorless drive operation such as rotor flux and speed. The implemented LC filter smooths the voltage inverter output voltage to a close sinusoidal shape and improves the efficiency and faultless operation time of the motor. Nevertheless, this additional elements have to be considered in the control structure whereby the control will become more complicated. The properties of an observer system will be compared with focus on disturbance detection in a torque transmission system. The tests are done on a drive system which consists of two coupled 5.5 kW squirrel cage induction motors, where one machine serves as disturbance generator of different amplitudes and frequencies. The second machine represents the investigated object with LC filter and is equipped with a disturbance detection procedure. The paper includes theoretical background as well as the experimental results of the proposed solution.","PeriodicalId":165474,"journal":{"name":"2016 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123375977","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
