In the proposed approach, the improved ultra-wide characteristic basis functions (IUCBFs) are derived from characteristic basis functions (CBFs) at the highest frequency point and the lowest frequency point by applying a singular value decomposition (SVD) procedure. The IUCBFs can be reused for each frequency, so the electromagnetic scattering problem on the desired frequency band can be solved fast. Finally the adaptive cross approximation (ACA) algorithm is applied to accelerate the impedance matrix entry computation as well as matrix vector multiplication in the construction process of reduced matrix. The accuracy and efficiency are improved significantly compared with the traditional ultra-wide characteristic basis function method (UCBFM). Except that both of them use two rectangular cavities to create a passband, they are different in setting the feed-line locations. In design, two loaded posts are introduced as inductive coupling elements to restrain the fundamental resonant mode in SIW cavity at 5.8GHz for WLAN system. In Type-A BPF, TE102 mode is used to generate transmission zero (TZ) at a specific frequency out of the desired passband. In Type-B BPF, the source-load cross-coupling is further introduced to improve the out-of-band rejection. This paper proposes a data acquiring embedded system based on AD9361 (high speed ADC) and ZC706 (high performance FPGA embedded platform).The purpose of the proposed system in this paper is to capture wireless signal from bandwidth varies from 70 MHz to 6 GHz. Also, the system provided interface for users to adjust parameters including sampling rate, bandwidth, sampling center frequency, sampling time length, data storage. This embedded system project consists of hardware system design and software design. The hardware system is based on the combination of ARM processor and FPGA, the software is based on Software Development Kit (SDK) provided by Xilinx. The amplifying cell utilizes the cascode structure with transistor dimension mismatch. With different sizes of the transistor used, the input and output capacitance will be more balanced and hence, better impedance matching is achieved for the designed DA. 70 nm InP HEMTs are used to fabricate the proposed design, the total chip area occupied is 2.9mm×0.85mm including the bonding pads. The DA achieves a band width of 2 to 82 GHz, with the average gain of 21 dB. The classical even- and odd-mode method is used to analyze the characteristics of the proposed resonator. It is observed that the proposed filter can operate at a wideband. For demonstration, a filter with central frequency at 2 GHz and 3-dB fractional bandwidth (FBW) of 96.7% is designed and fabricated. In order to obtain a system able to operate in the frequency range of 1710 MHz to 2155 MHz, compact wideband branch-line hybrids, Schiffman phase shifters, parallel Schiffman phase shifters and no crossovers were used to implement the wideband 8×8 Butler Matrix. The final operation range for the 8×8 Butler Matrix is 1.65 GHz to 2.3 GHz and 2.4 GHz to 2.6 GHz. Finally, an 8-element linear array of printed Quasi-Yagi antennas was introduced in the system to verify the beamforming functionality of the 8×8 Butler Matrix. In this paper, a balanced topology structure has been analyzed and applied in W band frequency tripler design. UMS 0.1 um GaAs pHEMT process is employed to fabricate the balanced tripler and the measured results prove that the harmonic suppression is more than 24 dBc. The individual blocks of low-noise amplifier (LNA), mixer, balun, and IF amplifier suitable for DBS applications are reviewed and discussed in details. Also, our recent progress in the fully-integrated low-noise blocks (LNBs) using low cost 0.18-μm SiGe BiCMOS technology for DBS down-converter is reported, including a Ku-band design with a low NF (<; 5.8 dB) and a high conversion gain up to 47.7 dB, and also a Ka-band design achieving a NF <; 6.6 dB with a conversion gain up to 49.4 dB. The proposed fully analog SPA delivers Psat of approximately 40dBm over 2-3 GHz covering 40% fractional bandwidth. The design consists of a 3dB input coupler, a main amplifier, a peak amplifier, and a 10dB output coupler for power combining. After proper designing and optimizing these critical wideband couplers in terms of both phase and amplitude alignment, the measured final SPA shows 45% to 61% drain efficiency (DE) at 35dBm (5dB backoff) output from 2.1 to 2.9 GHz under CW stimulus.
