The permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) of 1.5 MW output power which is driven directly without gear system is analyzed by Maxwell 2D RMxprt. The characteristics of generator include the cogging torque, induced coil voltages at rated speed, airgap flux density distribution and so on. For analysis of an electrical machine, accurate prediction of the machine parameters is crucial. A particular interest for permanent magnet generator is connected with wind turbine, which seems to be becoming increasing popular nowadays. The results show a proper performance of PMSG for analysis of an electrical machine in wind turbine application.","PeriodicalId":164248,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on System Reliability and Science (ICSRS)","volume":"85 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133736928","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One such measure of software quality is the reliability, which is the probability of failure-free operation of a computer program in a specified environment for a specified time. Prior to the release of software, failure data are obtained during testing, using which, future reliability of software can be assessed. Reliability assessment can be done using various measures like Mean Time To Failure, failure intensity function, mean value function, etc. To assess the reliability, one should have a mathematical model that describes the behavior of failure with time. Such models are called software reliability models. Several classes of software reliability models have been defined based on the failure time distribution. One such class of models is the gamma failure time models, where failure times are assumed to follow gamma distribution. In this paper, software reliability estimates of gamma failure time models have been obtained using the method of Maximum Likelihood Estimation and method of Minimum Variance Unbiased Estimation. Using these methods, reliability of the software at a future time point can be estimated. Case studies have been considered to compare the two estimates.","PeriodicalId":164248,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on System Reliability and Science (ICSRS)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129525349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Then, we use the component stress method to predict the reliability of SEM based on the study of SEM. Finally, through an example, we obtain the expected failure rate of SEM from the kind of DDZY102C-Z produced by the Wasion Group through the method proposed. The result of the predicted reliability of the SEM is 5640.43 FIT (failure in time: 10-9Failures/h). Traditional techniques — DMR and TMR, require a compromise with either incapability of a failed system masking or with an extremely high complexity and voter discrepancy. This paper presents a novel, warm redundancy architecture on FPGA based on a 32-bit microcontroller, which eliminates the drawbacks of DMR and TMR contributing their benefits. In order to mask a failed system, an enhanced diagnostic is implemented comprising CPU self-tests, internal and external watchdog, clock guarding and Xilinx soft error mitigation controller. Consequently, on-chip redundancy consists of two microcontrollers operating on the warm principle, in addition to an external watchdog that is designed to mask a failed system according to the status of diagnostics and to perform the activation of the redundant one. Increased availability is achieved due to the integration of two external watchdogs. Following the certified isolation design flow of Xilinx tools a conformance with the safety standard IEC 61508 is conducted. Furthermore, novel measures for mitigation of common cause failures are investigated to meet the requirements of the standard.","PeriodicalId":164248,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on System Reliability and Science (ICSRS)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131457597","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In fact the evaluation and the selection of a facility layout planning are usually crucial decision and requires a long processing approach since the criteria have different nature (qualitative and qualitative) and conflicting features. The quality and effectiveness of the production and manufacturing process relies on the choice of the layout planning design. To make a reliable spectrum to improve the reliability and durability of component, it is necessary to do research on extreme load. In this paper, the extreme value theory (EVT) is used to do extreme load value analysis with short time load spectrum to avoid the shortcoming of long traditional test time. The whole process of extreme load analysis has been illustrated in detail. The peak over threshold (POT) model is founded. Two uncertainty factors of the model, parameter estimation and threshold selection, are introduced. The goodness of fit tests are employed to verify the feasibility of the model. According to the return value analysis, the extreme load extrapolate value has obtained. Finally, the torque of wheel loader axle shaft is taken as an example, and the final result is in a reasonable range which shows the applicability of EVT in construction machinery.","PeriodicalId":164248,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on System Reliability and Science (ICSRS)","volume":"126 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124532945","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
