WHO stated that adequate funding for health is an important issue, but financial resources alone cannot lead to universal health coverage. WHO defines \"Strategic purchasing\" as a measure to maximize the efficiency of countries' health systems to answer these questions: what to buy / from whom to buy/how to buy and for whom to buy. Methods: This study was conducted in four main stages, including to identifying the concept of \"strategic purchasing\" in the health system using the critical method and review resources, review of strategic purchasing policies in the Iran Armed Forces Health Insurance Organization, identifying the main policy factors of strategic purchasing by insurance from the perspective of experts in this field and finally evaluation of strategic purchasing in insurance and providing solutions and suggestions for its implementation. A validated questionnaire was developed and the Likert technique was used to score the results. Results: The results were presented in sub-categories, which included identifying the concept of \"strategic purchasing\" in the health system and the Iran Armed Forces Health Insurance Organization, effectiveness and contracting for the supply of medicine with the lowest price and quality of the product is a top priority for policymakers. In response to the four basic questions of strategic procurement, various factors and their contributions were measured. Conclusion: Strategic procurement of health services is very necessary for health insurance organizations. Therefore, it is better to take steps to implement it as soon as possible. In addition to the findings of this study, including determining the factors for the strategic drug purchasing process, one of the most important policy findings of this study in interviews and discussions with experts was that theoretically, we all know what strategic purchasing is and what are the steps involved, but in practice, there is not any plan to implement it or we do not have the ability to implement it due to the existing infrastructure and policies. So, in addition to raising awareness, a proper understanding of the process must be established so that policy-making and implementation can follow, which requires integrated decisions.","PeriodicalId":16394,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Military Medicine","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44477652","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the times when people are at risk for musculoskeletal disorders is during the military. Considering the importance of soldiers' health, which is one of the main military pillars of the country, and considering that previous studies have further examined other occupations. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the effect of the intervention program on the level of risk of musculoskeletal disorders in soldiers in different parts of a military unit. Methods: The present study was a quasi-experimental study that was performed on 140 male workers working by hand in different units of a military area in southern Iran in 2020. Sampling was available by sampling method. Assessing and determining the risk level for musculoskeletal disorders was performed using Rapid Exposure Assessment (QEC) software. Educational intervention for the intervention group, 4 60-minute training sessions were held. One month after the end of the educational intervention, the risk assessment of the risk of developing musculoskeletal disorders in both groups was determined. Data analysis was performed using SPSS-24 statistical software. Results: The level of risk of musculoskeletal disorders after the educational intervention in the intervention group decreased compared to the control group and was statistically significant (P <0.05). Also, after the educational intervention in the two groups of intervention and control, in terms of the level of exposure to the risk factors of vibration, speed at work and job stress, there were no changes in the level of risk and training did not cause a statistically significant difference in these three factors (P >0.05). The level of whole body exposure risk for musculoskeletal disorders in the two groups of intervention and control after educational intervention is statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion: Based on the findings of the present study, the rate of musculoskeletal disorders in soldiers was high and correctional exercises had a significant effect on musculoskeletal disorders. Since musculoskeletal disorders are preventable, it can be concluded that planned trainings to the target community, including educational interventions, can be effective and useful.","PeriodicalId":16394,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Military Medicine","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42163140","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
