We aimed to systematically examine the impact of surgery (thyroidectomy) on different components of QOL in patients with GD. Two reviewers began to deeply search the various databases of article published including Medline, Web of knowledge, Google Scholar, Scopus, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL) in the Cochrane Library for all eligible studies in accordance with the considered keywords. In final, seven articles were eligible for the final analysis that published between 2012 and 2019. The Comprehensive Meta-Analysis Software was employed for analysis. Assessing the level of quality of life using SF-36 tool showed significantly increase in both physical component score (weighted mean differences of 0.428, p <0.001) and psychological component score (weighted mean differences of 0.277, p <0.001) postoperatively compared with the baseline values. The assessment of QOL using the Thy PRO questionnaire also showed significantly improvement in total QOL score after surgery compared with before that (weighted mean differences of -1.466, p <0.001). We revealed considerably improving both physical and mental aspects of QOL following surgery in Graves’ disease.","PeriodicalId":16365,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medicinal and Chemical Sciences","volume":"22 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87783549","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aimed to investigate the role of big data electronic medical records of patients with cardiovascular diseases to improve the clinical management of cardiovascular care processes. The study was carried out in 2017-2020. The subjects of the study were patients with cardiovascular diseases (n=2525) and cardiovascular surgeons of the vascular surgery department (n=6), forming big data with the help of digitalization and data analysis information system Interin ProMIS. Efficiency was assessed based on the results of analytical studies of the department's economic indicators, risks of end-cardiovascular points (myocardial infarction, stroke, death, bleeding), repeated surgeries, patients' persistence to optimal drug therapy, and implementation of doctor's recommendations. The study estimated the degree of cognitive and physical load on medical personnel in connection with the use of electronic medical turnover in terms of working hours, and economic efficiency of inpatient treatment. The observation time was 24 months. Analytical, statistical methods of research were applied. Revenues of the department increased from 64180 to 113497 thousand rubles. The incidence of endpoint cardiovascular events made 0.5% during two years of follow-up. The number of cardiovascular patients supervised by surgeons decreased to 4 patients per day against the background of electronic document management, which reduced the degree of cognitive and physical load. Big data analytics of electronic medical records contributes to the development of effective strategies for clinical management of the processes aimed at improving the health of cardiovascular patients.","PeriodicalId":16365,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medicinal and Chemical Sciences","volume":"33 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74635312","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There has been a massive expansion of health technology and health systems in the second half of this century to provide women with many aspects of reproductive health care. There are numerous problems related to the impairment of women's reproductive health during the infancy or teenage years. The great importance among gynecological pathologies assigns to vulvovaginitis. It is the most frequent reason for visits to children's gynecologists. The development of the disease is promoted by anatomo-physiological features of a girl`s genital tracts before puberty, bacterial and viral agents, the neglect of personal hygiene rules, helminthic invasion, allergic disorders, endocrine pathology. During the course of medical-preventive and rehabilitation actions for vulvovaginitis in girls, a special approach requires psychological support, which is built on the root causes of their problems, and various health-related aspects, since in no other field is the relationship between psychology and physiology as close as in the field of sexuality and the reproductive health. Thus, the studying of clinical-psychological features of vulvovaginitis remains relevant since it helps to prevent critical consequences during the formation of the reproductive system.","PeriodicalId":16365,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medicinal and Chemical Sciences","volume":"78 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80863797","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The processes are modulated through recent non-invasive brain stimulation techniques. In particular, a rehabilitation program and non-invasive instrument called transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) has already been implemented to examine the changes in brain plasticity caused by stroke and used as a therapeutic modality to securely increase the function of motor and activities of daily living (ADL). This study investigated the effect of low-frequency TMS with rehabilitation programs in post-ischemic stroke patients to improve the upper extremity's motor function. Randomized controlled trial was conducted in this study by dividing 11 patients into two groups which fulfilled the present inclusion criteria. Wolf Motor Function Test (WMFT) and Upper Extremity Fugl Meyer Assessment (UEFMA) were used to ADL of day 7 and to measure the levels of motor function, respectively. The study results showed a considerable difference in TMS with the rehabilitation program which was achieved on day seven on both groups. The total score of UEFMA and WMFT considerably increased from the condition before intervention (UEFMA intervention-control: 19.83-6.00; WMFT intervention-control: 20.67–4.00, p < 0.001). Therefore, low-frequency TMS with a rehabilitation program is recommended since it shows a considerable increase in the motor function of the upper extremity and ADL among the patients with post-ischemic stroke.","PeriodicalId":16365,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medicinal and Chemical Sciences","volume":"41 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86698195","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The studied dipharmacophore compound based on dexibuprofen and nebracetam is indicated by the dexibuneb laboratory code and has the chemical formula (2S) -N - ((1-benzyl-5-hydroxypyrrolidin-3-yl) methyl) -2- (4-isobutylphenyl) propanamide. Dexibuneb was administered intragastrically at a dose of 80 mg/kg; dexibuprofen and nebracetam were administered intragastrically at a dose of 40 mg/kg. The minimum increase in paw edema was recorded in the group of animals treated with dexibuneb. It amounted to 33.61 ± 7.41 of the initial value, which is statistically significantly (p <0.05) less than the values both in the control group and in the groups treated with dexibuprofen nebracetam monotherapy. The use of dexibuneb reduced the increase in dry weight of the granuloma by 43.09% (p <0.05) relative to the increase in the control group. In this study, when studying the severity of the anti-inflammatory effect on acute and chronic inflammation models, we found a positive pharmacodynamic interaction of molecular fragments of various therapeutic orientations, combined in an innovative dipharmacophore compound with the laboratory name dexibuneb. Inhibition of paw edema after introducing carrageenan into the plantar aponeurosis and the increase in the mass of granulomas implanted in rat armpits was statistically significantly more pronounced in the groups of animals treated with dexibuneb than with dexibuprofen and nebracetam monotherapy.","PeriodicalId":16365,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medicinal and Chemical Sciences","volume":"115 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89412431","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is known that several variables affect self-care, including self-efficacy, family support, social support, distress, age, duration of illness. However, there are still few studies that have addressed these variables together. This study aimed to determine the factors that affect self-care among heart failure patients. This research used an analytic observational research design through a cross-sectional approach. The sampling method used an accidental sampling technique and resulted in 73 respondents who were selected based on pre-determined sample criteria. Participants were asked to fill out questionnaires, including self-care, self-efficacy, family support, anxiety, and demography variables. The data analysis included bivariate (Pearson) and multivariate regression analysis to estimate the correlation between self-care and self-efficacy, family support, anxiety, age, and disease length. 73 patients with heart failure in this study had an average self-care score of 31.33, which means that patients can do self-care well. From the five variables carried out in the multivariate analysis, there were only two variables (family support and self-efficacy) that had a significant effect on patient self-care. Family support is the main factor affecting self-care (β= 1,949, p= 0.000), followed by self-efficacy (β= 0.226, p= 0.001), then self-efficacy, where both had a positive correlation. The results indicated that a strategy is needed to improve self-care for heart failure patients, which includes family support and self-efficacy to achieve optimal results.","PeriodicalId":16365,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medicinal and Chemical Sciences","volume":"61 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80291118","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present study employed a pre-post experimental design without a control group with a total of 60 nurses as participants. The study was conducted in three hospitals in Semarang city. The inclusion criteria were nurses who worked in the emergency unit, COVID-19 isolation units, and ICU, as well as those who were permanent nurses and were not on duty while receiving the intervention. Meanwhile, the exclusion criteria were nurses who had less than two-year work experience and were apprentice nurses. This study was conducted by providing the intervention on the prevention and control of COVID-19 infection via teleconferences. Data were collected using the knowledge and attitude questionnaire that had been tested for its validity and reliability. The data on knowledge and attitudes were analysed using the paired t-test, while the participants’ characteristics were presented descriptively in the frequency and percentage tables. The results indicated that there was an increase in the participants’ knowledge and attitudes. The paired t-test showed a significant value in the knowledge (p=0.000) and attitudes (p=0.005) after the provision of teleconferences for infection control (TIC).
