Bio-Medical Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 1998 was published vide notification number S. O. 630 (E) dated the 20th July, 1998, by the Government of India.[4]. 60 per cent of secondary care and 54 per cent of tertiary care health facilities were in the RED category i.e. absence of a credible BMW management system in place or ones requiring major improvement. [5] Amount of Biomedical waste generated every year is more than 8% as compared to previous per year. [6] Efforts are being taken to automate waste management by introducing wireless systems. Segregation plans are proposed in order to maximize the recycling of waste and proper handling of non-recyclable waste. That classification would not sustain in wide variety of wastes such as biomedical waste. Hence this type of waste is treated differently. Therefore, such a waste has its own management unit. This study goes over current followed practices that are undertaken by countries and also studies various available technologies to automate such processes and carefully handling biohazardous waste automatically.","PeriodicalId":163288,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Computing Methodologies and Communication (ICCMC)","volume":"244 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120975157","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At regular intervals these concrete structures have to be inspected in order to assure their quality. The main objective of the project that we have undertaken is to determine the major cracks produced by the environmental changes such as flooding, man made errors and thereby generating an alarm to alert the concerned authorities, in this way we will determine the cracks and finally protect the dams. By using the microcontrollers and sensors we determine the cracks present on the structures and other leakage that may occur. This is an embedded system which is able to closely monitor the parameters of the dam on regular basis and this model is fully automated and keeps the track of the dam parameters on a regular basis. Authorities are indicated for changes in actuator state there by giving an option for manual override. This project will also provide user-friendly interface panel therefore the unskilled workers can also use this model with great ease.","PeriodicalId":163288,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Computing Methodologies and Communication (ICCMC)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130867248","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Server virtualization is key technology that enables cloud computing as a service, which authorize dynamic sharing of physical resources. Virtualization introduces the problem of virtual machine placement that increases the overheads in load balancing. Existing infrastructure needs the strategy for the VM Placement as it may create poor allocation and load balancing issues. In most of the cases, due to lack of input parameters physical machines are partially loaded that creates issue of fragmentation which leads to insufficient resources that causes more utilization of physical machines in any infrastructure. We did extensive survey in the said domain and found that, In load balancing approach, when VM placement is done without measuring its lifetime, that creates fragments on PM. So we propose dynamic priority based spill over technique and add the concept of short life/long life container for solving the fragmentation issue.","PeriodicalId":163288,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Computing Methodologies and Communication (ICCMC)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128345308","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Both urban and rural areas are connected by highways and bridges. Usually bridges constructed over rivers, seas and other waterways are more prone to disasters such as flooding and tsunamis. In order to alert the people about the damage caused by these disasters, an early detection and Warning system is designed. The flood/overflow range is detected using video streaming process, and warning information is provided if it exceeds a certain threshold. The flood information is transferred to the local public using a mobile app named “FLOOD ALERT”, developed using Android and Java. It will help them to take necessary actions for the disaster which has occurred. It gives information about the location of the flood occurred region and also the corresponding date and time. This system is capable of reducing the negative impacts, mainly accidents that caused due to the collapse of the bridge due to flood.","PeriodicalId":163288,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Computing Methodologies and Communication (ICCMC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131167089","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traffic condition in foreign countries are homogeneous whereas India's traffic condition is heterogeneous which makes real-time management at parking lot difficult. Traffic congestion at parking lot has become often, that people cannot even find the place to park their vehicle especially in large companies where first come first serve method is used for parking vehicle. In nutshell, parking condition needs to be improved by introducing Internet of Things (IoT) to parking lots. With the help of Microcontrollers and Image processing, tradition parking lots can be converted into smart one. The proposed system will also help company to enter only registered employees and to manage limited parking place, efficiently. Image processing algorithms, such as OCR (Optical Character Recognition) are used to check valid employee. After image processing algorithm, number would be extracted out from number plate and sent to server, for employee verification. In the similar fashion, server will also receive exact traffic density count at parking lot and other statistics from the microcontroller. Android App can be used by the user to extract the details from server at any time on demand find the proper location for parking. This technology will help the companies with large number of employees to park their vehicle without wastage of time. This system also alert authorities when less than 10% space is available and have reserved parking for women, physically handicapped person, and pregnant women. For traffic management at parking lots, a prototype has been designed and tested. Main objective is to come up with a solution for traditional parking lots to save time and money of user.","PeriodicalId":163288,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Computing Methodologies and Communication (ICCMC)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127017759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence the concept of reuse comes into picture. This paper will focus on reusing the frequency in a macrocell and utilizing it for femtocell. Femtocell is a smaller base station (BS) with limited subscribers. Its typical power consumption is much less than that needed in macrocel BS (typically in watts). Due to this the user's battery lasts longer when connected to femtocell i.e. when indoors where the data requirement is high. As the paper progresses, typical challenges in femtocell and mitigation of interference to primary users will be discussed. Spectrum sensing and mobility are the crucial aspects which will discussed in cognitive femtocell network. Also the paper will focus on the upper layer issues like the transport layer. The paper will be concluded with the security aspect of cognitive femtocell network as security plays a vital role in wireless technology.","PeriodicalId":163288,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Computing Methodologies and Communication (ICCMC)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121277980","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Power distribution networks in India provide last mile connectivity between the utility and the consumers; and thereby reliability of these systems is of utmost importance for continuous power supply. In India, power distribution networks are typically old and periodic upgradation of these is economically not viable. Timely maintenance of the distribution components, specifically transformers is insufficient for absolute reliability. Also, faults cause temporary interruption in power supply during the time of repair and replacement. The best solution to avoid this involves predicting the temporal probability of faults, heuristically. This paper discusses the prediction of faults on transformers using artificial neural networks.","PeriodicalId":163288,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Computing Methodologies and Communication (ICCMC)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122414395","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The prediction and residual approach is commonly used to achieve this goal. Context-based Adaptive Lossless Image Coding is abbreviated as CALIC. This proves an efficient scheme of compression for continuous-tone images. The high coding efficiency is achieved in this scheme with relatively low space and time complexity. It uses simple and non linear gradient based prediction scheme GAP. Large numbers of modeling context are used to shape non linear predictor which makes it adaptive through error feedback system. CALIC scheme is used to estimate the expectation of prediction errors which is conditioned on large number of model context. It does not suffer from ‘context dilution’ problem. The core theme of CALIC is discussed here. Compression results of old Marathi manuscript test images prove superior performance of the CALIC compared with predictive Huffman and Arithmetic techniques implemented during experimentation.","PeriodicalId":163288,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Computing Methodologies and Communication (ICCMC)","volume":"419 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126040578","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A staged representation depicts the improvement path for SOA adoption. Each stage has its own characteristics and the stages are logically connected. The move from one stage to the next requires methods, processes, tools, and techniques. The existing methods mainly differ in terms of the centered building block; it is often challenge for an enterprise to decide on methods as the SOA motivations and requirements vary for different stages of SOA adoption. In this context, an enterprise has to model its SOA adoption path in terms of the methodical requirements at different stages. This work proposes a horseshoe model to understand the transformations from initial stages of SOA adoption to an optimized stage. The model is explained through three conceptual elements: (i) SOA building blocks, (ii) scope of method definition, and (iii) transformation views. This work guides to decide on SOA methods at different stages of adoption. The future work includes the model instantiation with required methods.","PeriodicalId":163288,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Computing Methodologies and Communication (ICCMC)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113992065","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
