Hence the concept of reuse comes into picture. This paper will focus on reusing the frequency in a macrocell and utilizing it for femtocell. Femtocell is a smaller base station (BS) with limited subscribers. Its typical power consumption is much less than that needed in macrocel BS (typically in watts). Due to this the user's battery lasts longer when connected to femtocell i.e. when indoors where the data requirement is high. As the paper progresses, typical challenges in femtocell and mitigation of interference to primary users will be discussed. Spectrum sensing and mobility are the crucial aspects which will discussed in cognitive femtocell network. Also the paper will focus on the upper layer issues like the transport layer.
