Among the several factors that may predispose them, it can be pointed out low income, decreased mobility and constrains on daily activities, inability to care for themselves due to functional impairment as well as health problems and weak social network. Therefore, it’s crucial to recognise and to assume the multidimensionality of this concept. In order to better understand the nature and the impact of food insecurity in the elderly it’s mandatory to have a comprehensive understanding of all the aspects related to this burden in this population.","PeriodicalId":163225,"journal":{"name":"MOJ Gerontology & Geriatrics","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115407915","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Eight Registered Nurses from an adult intensive care unit in a Brazilian University Hospital were interviewed, and the data collected were analyzed according to the content analysis. The findings show that nurses carry out some activities differently when patients are elderly. Still, they do not score it as additional activities in the Nursing Activities Score used for evaluating their nursing workload. They also recognized that the Nursing Activities Score does not reflect the real-time spend on the care of an elderly patient. This research may be noteworthy to nurses or organizations looking forward to enhancing their health care for elderly patients in critical care and improving the way nursing workload measurements acknowledging elderly patient needs.","PeriodicalId":163225,"journal":{"name":"MOJ Gerontology & Geriatrics","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125404718","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its concept encompasses three dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and low professional achievement. It is currently a student in various fields of human knowledge, from Anthropology to Psychology. The area of Psychology that most researchers BS is the Psychodynamics of Work in which they call it “Malaise”. However, researchers involving BS under the perspective of Behavior Analysis is scarce in Brazil and in the world. This study aims to analyze BS in several countries, from developed to poor countries, and in this sense supports the thesis that it is a pandemic. Behavioral therapy is an approach developed by nurses to control incontinence and involves several dimensions of the human being, including sexual. The objective is to report the experience of implementing behavioral therapy for urinary incontinence based on Jean Watson’s Theory of Transpersonal Care. Six women participated in the study monitored from July to November 2020. All patients reported improvement in in continence symptoms, five of whom had no involuntary loss of urine. It is not necessary to refer them for surgical treatment or drug therapy. There was an improvement in the elderly woman’s self-esteem and engagement for self-care. The study revealed that it is possible to control the urinary incontinence of elderly women and consequently, contribute to the quality of life reduce the cost and value the relationship of the elderly woman with yours exuality.","PeriodicalId":163225,"journal":{"name":"MOJ Gerontology & Geriatrics","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122258276","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
