The following case report describes a Minimally Invasive Endodontic management of rare case of maxillary second molar with two buccal and two independent palatal roots using TruNatomy File Rotary System(DentsplySirona). Case Report A 38 year old man reported to Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics complaining of pain in maxillary right back area since 2 weeks. The patient did not present with any relevant medical history. Clinical examination revealed deep disto-occlusal caries in maxillary second molar number 17. Radiographic examination showed disto-occlusal coronal radiolucency approaching pulp. Vitality test was performed and diagnosis of symptomatic irreversible pulpitis was made. Root canal therapy was advised and informed consent was obtained. The tooth was anesthetized, isolated and access cavity was prepared. Three canal orifices were located – Mesiobuccal, Distobuccal and Palatal. Canal patency was checked with No.8 K file. However, after inserting the file in the palatal canal, it was observed that the file had tilted mesially. It hinted a different canal anatomy. Upon closer examination of the dentinal map under magnification, the access cavity was extended mesially and an extra palatal canal was found located mesial to the initially found palatal canal, which was confirmed radiographically. Working length was established using Electronic Apex Locator [Raypex 6 (VDW, Munich, Germany)] and the root canal instrumentation was completed using TruNatomy File Rotary System. Obturation was completed using lateral condensation technique. The patient was recalled at 1,3,6 and 12 months period and follow up radiographs were taken. The tooth was asymptomatic.","PeriodicalId":162541,"journal":{"name":"Nair Hospital Dental college Journal of Contemporary Dentistry","volume":"246 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114194027","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

And as a result, these doctors are facing tension against the ill treatment towards them. These days, health practitioners face threat from many strata of individuals asking them to modify or even change certain data so as to benefit the said person. Such unethical practices have made the public lose trust in them. In order to overcome such issues, the health care professionals need to be given ample amount of rest period so as to relax their body and mind through strategic approach. Along with this, proper government rules should be passed in order to stop such deceitful practices with no loopholes available. The management of stress shall drastically decrease with the above two measure along with which good leadership skills and strategic interventions are needed for the same. The managerial tools shall be taken into consideration by various doctors and thereby channelize them into making good. This review mainly focuses on the effectiveness of measures implemented to reduce tension and how to endure it.","PeriodicalId":162541,"journal":{"name":"Nair Hospital Dental college Journal of Contemporary Dentistry","volume":"449 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125801584","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Forensic identification is an integrative technique that relies on definite identification methods. The dental identification is of paramount significance when the dead body is burned, decomposed, dismembered or skeletonized. Forensic odontologist can resolve several crime cases by human identification and dental DNA fingerprinting. Dental pulp acts as a rich source of DNA for genetic material in forensic research since it is covered by dentin and enamel which protects the pulp. Dental pulp undergoes physiological changes as age advances. DNA, the language of life, manages all the cell activities which give unimaginable data related to health and disease. DNA fingerprinting has plod along from the conventional fingerprints and blooming in forensic science","PeriodicalId":162541,"journal":{"name":"Nair Hospital Dental college Journal of Contemporary Dentistry","volume":"11 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133455310","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article presents a case of an 18-year-old male with fractured left maxillary central incisor. Reattachment of the fractured fragment was done using a bonding technique and light cure composite followed by Splinting of the fractured tooth. The techniques described in this case report for reattachment and splinting are reasonably simple and novel, while restoring providing long-lasting esthetics, improved function, positive psychological response with a very conservative approach.","PeriodicalId":162541,"journal":{"name":"Nair Hospital Dental college Journal of Contemporary Dentistry","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128674701","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It initially manifests in the form of intraoral lesions, which may spread to mucous membrane and skin. It is characterized by the production of autoantibodies against intercellular substances. Eighty to ninety percent of patients with pemphigus vulgaris develop oral lesions and in 60% of cases oral lesions are the first sign therefore a dentist must be familiar with clinical manifestations of pemphigus vulgaris for early diagnosis and treatment.","PeriodicalId":162541,"journal":{"name":"Nair Hospital Dental college Journal of Contemporary Dentistry","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125364186","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It involves a wide array of procedures. Aim: Use of digital radiovisiography (RVG), apex locator (EAL) and cone beam computed tomography technique (CBCT) to evaluate working length in primary teeth. Materials and Methods: This study included thirty extracted primary teeth having at least 2/3rd of root. Alginate was combined with 0.9% normal saline solution and teeth were inserted in it after access opening. Two qualified examiners recorded working length for all canals twice with RVG, EAL and CBCT. In control group, a Kerr- file from coronal reference to the apical foramen was used to visually determine the actual (AL) under stereomicroscope. Statistical analysis: Intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and Bland and Altman analysis were used to calculate the agreement on measurements of all methods using actual values of different methods. Results: Electronic working length measured with AL (0.0007) was statistically significant compared to RVG (1.9570) and CBCT (0.8440). Amongst all methods for determination of working length the ICC showed the highest reliability for EAL and least for RVG. Conclusion: In comparison to RVG and CBCT, the EALperformed the best for determining working length in primary teeth.","PeriodicalId":162541,"journal":{"name":"Nair Hospital Dental college Journal of Contemporary Dentistry","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116945920","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Introduction-Rehabilitation of the edentulous posterior maxilla with an implant supported prosthesis is a commonly occurring challenge in dental practice. Objectives - Achieving adequate height of alveolar bone for placing dental implants requires uplifting of the sinus lining in many such cases. This is generally done by harvesting bone grafts from various sites and placing it in the defect created after raising the sinus lining thus restoring the height and width of residual alveolar bone. Objectives - To determine if regional sites of bone graft harvest are equally effective when compared with distant site. Material & Methods - In this series, out of 3 of our patients, two received autologous chin grafts and one patient received PCBM graft from the iliac crest. In all 3 patients, implants were placed in the second stage. Results -Acomparative analysis of the feasibility of the two techniques which involves bone grafts from two sites which have different quality of bone available over the end outcome was done and it was found that the quality of bone available for implant placement was almost the same irrespective of the graft harvest site. Conclusion - It can be safely concluded chin graft is a viable alternative to cortico-cancellous bone graft in cases of direct sinus lift procedures with minimal issues of donor site morbidity.","PeriodicalId":162541,"journal":{"name":"Nair Hospital Dental college Journal of Contemporary Dentistry","volume":"554 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123722113","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
