Based on already existing knowledge about the environment, action sequences are built. Development of actions is important for autonomous systems because the possibility of action generation determines the degree of freedom to act within an environment. This article introduces an action planning system for autonomous agents based on neuropsychoanalytical concepts of the human psyche. Based on a technically implementable model of the human mind, an action planning system is modeled and implemented to create a planning system for technical applications. The result is a flexible system that is able to create action sequences purposely achieving goals within the agent's environment. The system can be compared to the human planning process and is the first homogenous work in the field of Artificial Intelligence completely based on consistent and unambiguous concepts about the human mind. To test the developed model, a simulation environment is used where agents controlled by an implementation of the model have to fulfill use cases.","PeriodicalId":162453,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115353505","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The new converter structure is designed in such a way that, the modularity is available not only for voltage but also for current ratings, using the available devices. The new converter will be applicable for a wide range of medium voltage applications and using its modularity it also can be scaled up for high voltage applications. The proposed-converter control is described and the overall operation is explained through simulation. A simple active-reactive power control is utilized for the converter control. It has been highlighted, through simulation, that the proposed converter has a high degree of design flexibility introduced by its high number of redundant switching states. These redundancies are implemented for controlling the capacitor voltages of the converter modules. More importantly, they provide the converter with a DC and AC sides fault-handling capability; a function that is essential for an MV converter. It is explicitly shown that the converter can provide ancillary services to the grid during DC faults.","PeriodicalId":162453,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125434380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Accuracy of these appliances substantially affects the resulting accuracy of the measurement. An important parameter which affects ICT or IVT accuracy is their burden. Therefore the calibration of instrument transformers (IT) must be performed at a desired value of the burden. It usually varies in the range (1 up to 75) VA. ICT burdens less than 5 VA are usually real or they have the inductive power factor 0.8 for greater values. IVT burdens have usually inductive power factor 0.8. A precise adjusting of the burden is important to achieve required IT calibration accuracy. Burden calibration is a necessary part of the calibration process. Procedures for burden calibration used at CMI are described in the paper. There is described a procedure using a standard transformer test set and also procedures with PC controlled measuring systems.","PeriodicalId":162453,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129614699","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This photovoltaic system utilizes two conversion stages; a boost converter for tracking the maximum power point and a modular multilevel inverter used as an interfacing unit. The maximum power point tracking is achieved with a fuzzy logic controller, and the modular multilevel inverter regulates the dc link voltage and synchronizes the grid voltage and current in order to achieve unity power factor operation. The proposed system provides high dynamic performance and power quality injected into the grid. The validity of the proposed system is confirmed by simulations.","PeriodicalId":162453,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130829223","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, the endoscope is often utilized for cancer detection, and examination and treatment of the cancer are performed. The endoscopy can perform examination by the photograph or the video image. However, it is difficult to detect cancer visually. The surgery relying on only vision information is asked for high surgical skill of the operator. Therefore, it is thought that haptic information is necessary as well as visual information to perform surgery more safely. Especially, a forceps model device measuring haptic information is necessary to perform complicated surgery. Flexible actuator is one of the actuators with very small friction, and it consists of a linear motor and a thrust wire. Friction of linear motor is very small, and the thrust wire can transmit force. Therefore, flexible actuator is suitable to develop the forceps model device measuring haptic information. In this research, the endoscopic forceps with flexible actuator is developed. And performance of thrust wire is evaluated considering the usage environment of endoscope.","PeriodicalId":162453,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics","volume":"26 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128167756","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A runtime partial reconfiguration is adopted to switch between them. A predictive internal state definition allows a soft commutation between controllers.
