The aims of this study is to describe the perceptions of sociocultural ecology in agro-industrial societies and their impact on scientific writing competence. Data were obtained by observation and questionnaires on 90 students at the University of Jember as student representatives with an agro-industry environment and their involvement in research and learning texts about agro-industry in the field of writing. The results show that there are groups with high sociocultural ecological perception and knowledge values and groups with low perception and knowledge values. To see the urgency of perception and knowledge of scientific writing competence, these students took a writing test and then the results were examined in terms of reasoning, text organization skills, and procedural knowledge. After the statistical tests were carried out, it was concluded that the perception and knowledge of the agro-industry macrosystem had a significant effect on students' reasoning abilities, significance (sig) 0.032 <0.05; does not have a significant effect on text organization competence with a significance value (sig) 0.067 > 0.05; and has a significant effect on procedural knowledge with a significance value (sig) 0.032 <0.05. These results indicate that the scientific productive competence of language with an ecological approach from the macrosystem aspect needs to pay attention to creativity. Greater efforts are needed to improve the development of writing on the components of unity, continuity, completeness, sequence, and point of view consistency.","PeriodicalId":162221,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Education and Pedagogy","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129333381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goals of education include the understanding of the content of the Physical Sciences (P.E.) course, which is analyzed at all educational levels, as well as the necessity of the modern teacher to know Physical Sciences. The present work has as its object of study the investigation of the preference of the elective courses of Physical Sciences, Technology, Environment, and Mathematics. 140 students of the Undergraduate Study Program of the Department of Primary Education of the University of Ioannina (DPE) participated in the research carried out. The questionnaire, completed by the students, consists of 33 multiple-choice, closed, and open-type questions. A descriptive analysis of the responses for each question and the correlation of student preference with Gender and High School Orientation Group was performed. According to the results, it seems that students generally choose more Physical Sciences and Environment courses than Technology and Mathematics. Regarding the comparison between Gender, for all four years of study, females seem to prefer these electives more than males. Regarding the Orientation Group, the students coming from the Humanities Studies show, with a small difference, a greater preference than those from the Sciences Studies and Economics and Computer Studies. Of particular interest are the results regarding how courses are selected and, in general, with the existing curriculum related to Gender.","PeriodicalId":162221,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Education and Pedagogy","volume":"637 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131944656","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The novelty of this teaching scenario lies both in the fact that it is based on the use of the teaching tool/simulation software “MATHEMA” as a cognitive tool and in the fact that the pedagogical approach used is based on the principles of the constructivist approach. This teaching scenario consists of the following two parts: a) The teaching organization guide and b) The students’ worksheets. The SOLO method - taxonomy - is used to assess the learning outcomes. Based on the learning outcomes, a significant shift in students’ responses towards the scientific model was observed after the experimental interventions. Consequently, a conceptual change was achieved, to some extent, after performing the virtual experiments. The results presented in this study support the argument for the learning value and contribution of simulation software as a teaching tool in science teaching and learning.","PeriodicalId":162221,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Education and Pedagogy","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125383754","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While several studies have looked into various aspects of work stress in HEIs, very few studies have investigated how psychosocial factors mediate the effect of the physical environment to work stress. Thus, this study is conducted to empirically test how psychosocial working conditions significantly mediate the influence of Physical work Environment on workplace stress in Higher Education Institutions in the Philippines. Involving 265 teaching faculty in selected HEIs in Southern Philippines, the study utilized structural equation modeling to analyze the interest constructs. The results showed that Physical Work Environment significantly influences Psychosocial Work Environment while Psychosocial Work Environment significantly influences work stress). In contrast, the path from Physical Work Environment to work stress was not statistically significant. Thus, Psychosocial Work Environment fully mediates the influence of the Physical Work Environment on an individual’s work stress level. Put differently, physical work environment could only result in work stress if Psychosocial Work Environment mediates it.","PeriodicalId":162221,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Education and Pedagogy","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125667554","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the study, a descriptive survey design was used. 203 student-athletes who compete in games and track and field events at two public senior high schools made up the sample size. All of the student-athletes in form three and form two were surveyed using a census method. To collect information from the study’s participants, a questionnaire was used. According to the results of the multiple regression analysis, personal characteristics had the highest correlation with student-athlete academic performance (r=0.28), followed by coaching factors (r=0.27), and school factors (r=0.22). The recent investigation also showed that no factor predicted attendance of student-athletes (F (1,201)=2.005, p=0.158, R2=0.359. It is recommended that authorities in senior high schools in the Obuasi municipality should ensure that Student-athletes are not affected by influences from school, other teachers, and coaches as it can impact their academic performance. Student-athletes should be encouraged and motivated to learn as their own activities can affect their academic performance.","PeriodicalId":162221,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Education and Pedagogy","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116422661","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a fast-pacing world, a desirable demand for an easy life makes it necessary for the burgeoning of technological prospects. Moreover, technology would have acclimatized the education sector one day or the other, like Scandinavian countries, for sure: but this anticipation was met rapidly during the pandemic period. As a consequence, most educationists felt the necessity for an alternative to leverage the learning loss across the globe. Technology performed the role of a Godmother to forge our country as ‘Vishwa Guru’ and save pedagogical principles from the clutches of the devastating pandemic. Educational resources began flooding from various technological tools like water flowing from the reservoir while lifting the shutters of a dam. A serious concern that knocks this scenario is ‘will this amalgamation of technology and education remain harmonious, or this synchronization will be able to resolve all the ethical or ontological questions of Homo sapiens in the post-pandemic period’? At this juncture, there is the relevance of a shift from techno-pedagogy to techno-emotive pedagogy. Techno-emotive pedagogy is potentially sound to function as a sustainable approach in the field of education by embracing life skills to adapt to the fast-changing modern society. Undoubtedly, technology would be enthroned as the ultimate dependent variable of education, but without neglecting the emotional canvas. It relies on the strong footing that humans are essentially more emotional than intellectual. A single-track system of techno dependence neglecting the organismic emotional contour of individual and social tenets of humans will result in chaos. This paper intends to present techno-emotive pedagogy as a pedagogical experimentation and innovation in the teaching and learning process by utilizing an exploratory approach to the various emotional handicap that intruded on the learning and living system due to the single strategic path adopted during the covid period by analyzing the empirics from the education stakeholders. An attempt is also made to design and develop an instructional strategy that is synchronized with this paradigm. The findings showed that techno-emotive pedagogy plays as a strategic enabler in catalyzing sustainable learning and also the derivatives of this attempt are expected to contribute to a sustained strategic system for learning and living.","PeriodicalId":162221,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Education and Pedagogy","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117231331","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, studies must be done to holistically look into the impacts and perceptions of teachers and learners on the integration of courses in our educational systems. This paper examined students’ perception of the combination of Physical Education and Music and Dance as an integrated course in colleges of education in Ghana. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect data from 10 purposively sampled students (five women and five men) in two strategically selected colleges of education in the Ashanti Region, Ghana. Content analysis was used as a tool for data analysis. Based on the results, the students found the PEMD course the most enjoyable, especially the practical aspects of PE and the dance drama aspect of the music. The students further envisaged that playing musical instruments was a challenge during the music course and the PE course was primarily full of classroom work (theory). In advance, the students recommended that, with the PEMD, the PE aspect should be separated from the music since both are comprehensive courses, and each can stand on its own as a course. Again, the participants asserted that the course should be more practically oriented than before. Therefore, the PEMD course should be more practical than theory and separated to allow PE and Music to stand on their own as a course since they have no apparent relationship.","PeriodicalId":162221,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Education and Pedagogy","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115764220","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research group consists of 41 students studying at Giresun University, Department of Music, and Folk Dances. This research is a descriptive field study, and literature review and quantitative research techniques were used. In order to analyze the quantitative data, an independent sample t-test was used to find the differences between the literacy levels of both groups. In addition, the independent sample one-way test of variance was applied for the significance levels of the differences between the literacy levels of both groups. When we look at the results of the t test to see the difference between the two groups, it is seen that the significance value is 0.001. The relationship between the two groups was found to be statistically significant at the p<0.05 level. It has been concluded that music students are more successful in their art literacy levels than the students of the Folk Dance Department. In the one-way analysis of variance, which was conducted to determine the differences in art literacy of the students of the Music and Folk Dances department according to the classes, no significant difference was reached.","PeriodicalId":162221,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Education and Pedagogy","volume":"121 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131593595","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data collection took place during 2020 and early 2021 and, through the application of a questionnaire survey, included a universe of 490 respondent families. Data collected from the families focused on the structure and family organization; the routines implemented by the family in children’s daily life; the activities valued/promoted by parents during this period; the interactions with early childhood educators; the existing difficulties and constraints. Among the various aspects analysed, the results showed a concern for maintaining interaction between the early years settings, children and families, and there was a regular interaction at a distance on the part. There was a concern for an adequate intervention at a distance that would fulfill family needs, taking place at regular and stable moments. For most families, proposals made by schools were meaningful for the children, reflecting the importance they attached to the role of the early childhood educator, even at a distance. Many families expressed that the children seemed to be adapting to a new routine, even though they missed school, their peers, and careers.","PeriodicalId":162221,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Education and Pedagogy","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131217336","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although eLearning has opened boundless opportunities for students at minimal cost, it has also brought a major challenge for the educators. Some of these are- lack of one-to-one interaction between teachers and students, the inability of teachers to assess the quality of their teaching, and more. To make eLearning more effective, it is important for administrators to fill such gaps. This is where sentiment analysis can play a vital role. It can help educators analyze student feedback and optimize their teaching methods for the best results.\u0000This paper is a systematic review of the learning-based methods available for sentiment analysis in an online learning environment- through online comments/reviews, web discussions or online forums, learning content, and student feedback. We also discussed some of the combined approaches used for Sentiment Analysis in online learning. Most importantly, the paper ends with a discussion of the limitations and challenges faced by researchers and the further scope for work in this field.\u0000Concluding from the research available, Sentiment Analysis has proved to be effective for both educators and students through various channels such as reviews, comments, learning content, web discussions and forums, and more. It has helped teachers improve their teaching methodology and revise course content to better suit students. For students, this has led to better understanding of the course material and has provided them with access to quality learning.","PeriodicalId":162221,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Education and Pedagogy","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122417132","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
