In this way, old images from the past to the present can be visualized and presented to people in different ways. In this study, the video is colorized by using a model that colorizes images with Convolutional Neural Networks. In this reference-based colorizing study, the frames in the video are colorized according to an automatically determined reference photo. As a new approach different from existing studies, instead of choosing a reference photo for each frame, a system that automatically detects the scene transitions occurring in the video stream and automatically recommends the reference photo suitable for the content of each scene.","PeriodicalId":160693,"journal":{"name":"2021 29th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU)","volume":"347 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122376498","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This chronic disease can be cause mortality. There are different diagnoses and treatment methods for diabetes in the medical field. In addition, with the developing technology, diagnosis of the disease can be made computer-aided. Computeraided diagnostic methods are a successful, fast, and alternative method that supports the doctor's decision. The use of computeraided diagnosis approach for diabetes and many other diseases is increasing day by day. Machine learning classification methods are the most commonly used methods for computer-aided diagnostics. The aim of this study is to design a model to detect the probability of diabetes in patients at an early stage with maximum accuracy. Therefore, seven machine learning classification algorithms were used, namely Logistic Regression, K-Nearest Neighbors, Support Vector Machine, Gaussian Naive Bayes, Decision Tree, Random Forest, and Artificial Neural Network. The study was carried out on the Pima Indians Diabetes Database (PIDD) taken from the Kaggle database. The performances of machine learning methods were evaluated according to precision, recall, ROC curve, and PRC criteria. According to the results, the Logistic Regression method is more successful than other methods in classifying diabetes disease accurately.","PeriodicalId":160693,"journal":{"name":"2021 29th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127953162","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although research has been conducted to find a location in closed areas before, an industry-oriented performance enhancement project has not yet been developed and such a need has arisen. This paper proposes a genetic algorithm-based mapping system for the most appropriate transportation of parts within a factory. Thus, parts within the factory area are transported using the shortest path. The research and simulation results show that the genetic algorithm has been successful in transporting the parts without loss of time in a closed area. The most important feature that distinguishes this study from others is that it determines the shortest route, as well as providing maximum piece transportation according to the capacity.","PeriodicalId":160693,"journal":{"name":"2021 29th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU)","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122130124","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the STLC structure proposed in the literature has been adapted to the D-NOMA network and bit error performances of each user in the network have been examined through Monte- Carlo simulations. It has been considered that the base station is equipped with a single antenna and each mobile user equipped with two antennas in the network. Also, it is assumed that the fading channels between the users and the base station are independent and identically distributed (i.i.d.) and follow the Rayleigh distribution. Besides, it has been assumed that there was no error propagation in the Successive Interference Cancellation process (Perfect SIC), and the effects of practical impairments such as channel estimation error (CEE), feedback delay (FBD) have been ignored.","PeriodicalId":160693,"journal":{"name":"2021 29th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU)","volume":"90 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126779295","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, we develop a method for SSVEP-based BCI speller systems, using a known deep neural network (DNN), which includes transfer and ensemble learning techniques. We test performance of our method on publicly available benchmark and BETA datasets with leave-one-subject-out procedure. Our method consists of two stages. In the first stage, a global DNN is trained using data from all subjects except one subject that is excluded for testing. In the second stage, the global model is fine-tuned to each subject whose data are used in the training. Combining the responses of trained DNNs with different weights for each test subject, rather than an equal weight, provide better performance as brain signals may differ significantly between individuals. To this end, weights of DNNs are learnt with SAMME algorithm with using data belonging to the test subject. Our method significantly outperforms canonical correlation analysis (CCA) and filter bank canonical correlation analysis (FBCCA) methods.","PeriodicalId":160693,"journal":{"name":"2021 29th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU)","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126338538","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our training data comprises short conversational sentences extracted from chat conversations between company's customer representatives and web site visitors. We manually tagged approximately 14 thousand visitor inputs into ten basic categories, which will later be used in a transformer-based language model with attention mechanisms for the ultimate goal of developing a chatbot application that can produce meaningful dialogue.We considered three different stateof- the-art models and reported their auto-tagging capabilities. We achieved the best performance with the bidirectional encoder representation from transformers (BERT) model. Along with the data sets used in the literature, the data set including rural road, urban and highway routes with 5 different drivers was collected and used experimentally. Driver identification problem is considered as multivariate time series classification problem. With the FCNN (Fully Convolutional Neural Network) architecture established to solve the problem, the success rate of RNN (Recurrent Neural Network)-based architectures and traditional ML methods in the literature has been exceeded. The window size in the sliding window method has been reduced in training and validation. At the same time, the space occupied by the model on the memory and the number of floating point operations were reduced, increasing the possibility of use in in-vehicle systems. While the results are obtained with the stratified fold validation, they are compared with the time series segmentation method in data sets containing a single drive on the route.","PeriodicalId":160693,"journal":{"name":"2021 29th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU)","volume":"138 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114451676","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Behavioral differences in users' interactions with smart devices make these studies effective. In this study, it is shown that the gender of the user can be recognized using data from the accelerometer sensor on smartphones. In this context, we develop an Android application and collect data from 120 users interacting with their devices while walking. Then, we extract features in order to analyze the effects of differences in users' touching and gait behaviors on sensor readings. For gender detection, machine learning methods are firstly investigated and several classification algorithms are applied. In addition, we develop a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model and test it on our dataset. Consequently, we obtain an %88.3 success rate with CNN and also show that the CNN model outperforms other machine learning methods.","PeriodicalId":160693,"journal":{"name":"2021 29th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU)","volume":"113 31","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113944775","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
