The proposed model is based on literature review about main risk concepts; for its design those defined in the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) structure were established as maturity levels; in addition, a control map was defined to guide compliance by levels to incorporate the selected best practices. The resulting model has been validated by a group of experts using the Delphi technique, in order to obtain a quantitative assessment of its applicability in the shipping companies. As a main result, it was obtained that the model involves the execution of a formalized risk analysis process and with proactive techniques for the shipping entities.","PeriodicalId":159915,"journal":{"name":"2018 7th International Conference On Software Process Improvement (CIMPS)","volume":"305 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115652911","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the same time that software has grown and diversified, quality assurance activities have become increasingly important and complex. However, The Chaos Report, which evaluates the percentage of success and failure in software projects, mentions that there has been no improvement in the results obtained in recent years, where the average of successful projects is 37%. Considering the importance of quality assurance activities in software development, this paper proposes a tool that supports the implementation of practices for quality assurance, promoting and facilitating their implementation. The paper includes the description of the tool development, as well as the validations done to the tool.","PeriodicalId":159915,"journal":{"name":"2018 7th International Conference On Software Process Improvement (CIMPS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129832699","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The publication of sensitive data without exposing the data owners is generally not part of the software developers concerns. The regulations for the data privacy-preserving create an appropriate scenario to focus on privacy from the perspective of the use or data exploration that takes place in an organization. The increasing number of sanctions for privacy violations motivates the systematic comparison of three known machine learning algorithms in order to measure the usefulness of the data privacy preserving. The scope of the evaluation is extended by comparing them with a known privacy preservation metric. Different parameter scenarios and privacy levels are used. The use of publicly available implementations, the presentation of the methodology, explanation of the experiments and the analysis allow providing a framework of work on the problem of the preservation of privacy. Problems are shown in the measurement of the usefulness of the data and its relationship with the privacy preserving. The findings motivate the need to create optimized metrics on the privacy preferences of the owners of the data since the risks of predicting sensitive attributes by means of machine learning techniques are not usually eliminated. In addition, it is shown that there may be a hundred percent, but it cannot be measured. As well as ensuring adequate performance of machine learning models that are of interest to the organization that data publisher.","PeriodicalId":159915,"journal":{"name":"2018 7th International Conference On Software Process Improvement (CIMPS)","volume":"107 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115813658","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We also seek to quantify and characterize the residual error in order to validate the RAD as a source of alternative information to the data of the MS (DMS). The study area that encompasses the work corresponds to the northern region of Chile Tarapacá region, adjacent to border areas with Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. There is evidence that MS Data in the Tarapacá region present quality problems to calculate the Climatic Extremes Indices (CEI). For this reason, this work performs the indicated analysis, through the use of Data Mining (DM) techniques, which include the correlation coefficients of Pearson, Spearman and Kendall. In addition, descriptive statistics are used, considering temperature and precipitation data, provided by 82 MS for the period 1983–2012. The study concludes that there are severe residual errors, and it is not recommended to use the RAD as an alternative information source to calculate the CEI, since these can be affected. However, the RAD manage to reproduce the behavior of the meteorological variables, which is why they can be used for qualitative studies of these).","PeriodicalId":159915,"journal":{"name":"2018 7th International Conference On Software Process Improvement (CIMPS)","volume":"189 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133898044","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Graphs are a natural way of representing networks of historical figures. Graph databases enable efficient storage and processing of the encoded relationships. They furthermore support queries and envisioning on the structure of data networks. We present how graph data-bases are well suited for the representation of information about historical figures, which is typically highly connected and semi-structured. We outline an application case that uses the Neo4j graph database for implementing and querying a prototype network to provide context to Ecuadorian historical figures. Our work suggests that graph databases provide an efficient way to store complex relationships from different dataset, for the integration of different levels of data granularity, and facilitate exploratory data mining to reveal novel relationships among heterogeneous data of historical figures","PeriodicalId":159915,"journal":{"name":"2018 7th International Conference On Software Process Improvement (CIMPS)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115569363","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
