Abstract

Virtual reality is a computer-generated simulation that displays interactive scenarios representing a technology full of possibilities, with potential uses in a number of areas such as medical and psychological treatments, rehabilitation assistance, and space and military simulation capabilities, to name some. Attached to virtual reality is not just the enhanced display but also the required tools to interact with it. In this paper is presented a deep look into the evolution of the developed tools to manipulate 3D virtual environments. As a result, a classification in eras for virtual reality devices is proposed.
