Noor, Sri Nurhayati","doi":"10.33373/chypend.v9i2.5660","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.33373/chypend.v9i2.5660","url":null,"abstract":"The principal aim of this research was to understand the strategies employed in Project Based Learning (PBL) implementation in higher education setting, evaluate its impact on students' learning experiences, and pinpoint challenges faced during its application. Employing a case study method, insights were derived from in-depth examinations of specific PBL implementations within the course, facilitated by structured interviews, observation, and document analysis. The research participants are two lecturers and twenty students. The lecturers were chosen for their extensive experience in PBL implementation, while the students were purposively selected to ensure diversity in terms of academic performance, gender, and previous exposure to PBL. Thematic analysis was employed as the methodological framework for scrutinizing and interpreting qualitative data sourced from in-depth interviews and observational data. Key findings highlight the critical importance of a structured PBL introduction, the essence of real-world application through fieldwork, and the central role of collaboration, especially leveraging modern digital platforms. While the benefits of PBL in enhancing conceptual grasp and promoting soft skills development were evident, challenges, notably in team dynamics, resource provision, and the inherent unpredictability of real-world tasks, were also brought to the fore. By aligning the insights from the Participative Planning course with established PBL literature, the study illuminates the universal principles of PBL and their associated challenges. Conclusively, the paper underscores PBL's potency as a transformative pedagogical tool, emphasizing the necessity for informed strategies, adaptability, and iterative refinement for its efficacious implementation in diverse educational contexts.","PeriodicalId":157476,"journal":{"name":"CAHAYA PENDIDIKAN","volume":" 36","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139627857","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The change process does not always go well. In learning practice, problems are often encountered related to not achieving the expected changes. Learning outcomes represent changes in the overall learning process that has been carried out previously. The problem that often occurs is low student learning outcomes. This research was conducted to improve student learning outcomes by implementing the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Cooperative Model in social studies learning. This research uses an action study (action research) on class VII students of SMP IT Ar-Rislah Batam in two cycles. Research data was obtained through the distribution of test instruments, observation and documentation. After the information was obtained, the results were reviewed through descriptive statistical analysis. The research results show that the application of the Numbered Head Together (NHT) cooperative model in social studies learning makes it easier for teachers to achieve learning goals and is able to maximize student learning outcomes. The average value of learning outcomes obtained by students experienced a positive increase. In the pre-cycle stage it was 71.6, in the first cycle it was 80, and in the second cycle it rose to 88. So, the target set at ≥ 90% for the standard of completeness of classical student learning outcomes and ≥ 75 average scores for individuals has been achieved.","PeriodicalId":157476,"journal":{"name":"CAHAYA PENDIDIKAN","volume":" 30","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139627542","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, in reality, there is more and more news about crimes both among living beings and with nature. Behavior that deviates from human nature certainly does not just happen without any causal factors, many factors cause changes in human character, starting from family, environment, educators and so on. So that there is a need for efforts to shape and care for one's character from an early age in terms of an Islamic psychological approach. This research is a qualitative research using literature review method to collect relevant data. Then the data is analyzed using the content analysis method or content analysis. Writing skills are said to be high-level skills that must be trained through various writing exercises and then expressed in written language, such as in narrative texts. In the activity of writing narrative texts, the difficulties experienced by students were due to not being used to writing essays. Therefore, the problems above need to be overcome so as to increase students' interest in making narrative texts. The solution developed by the researcher is through the use of serial picture media, so that students can develop skills in writing narrative text covering aspects of content, structure, and language. The purpose of this research in general is to describe the results of writing narrative texts from the use of picture series media made by students of class V SD. This study uses a context-based descriptive analysis research method using a qualitative approach. This is because the data obtained will be examined and analysed as it is by described it in words. Based on the results of the study, some of the fifth grade students at SDN 1 Cikukulu were already able to compose narrative texts through the use of serial picture media seen from the results of their writing.
