A common feature of e-government is a Website as public portal. One of prominent institutions in Indonesia, which is obliged to provide the Website is the Central Bureau of Statistics. However, a data requirement survey by the Central Bureau of Statistics in 2017 indicated a gap between user expectation and user satisfaction of the Website. Besides, an assessment by the Open Data Inventory (ODIN) indicated that the Website has not met the international Website quality criteria, especially data completeness and data openness measures. To address this problem, a research was conducted to investigate its shortcomings and propose strategies for improvement. The data were collected using questionnaires, which were grouped into the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) matric quadrants. It was followed by literature studies and interviews with experts in statistical Website to propose improvement strategies. The priority of strategies was compiled using the Quality Functional Deployment (QFD). The results show that the Central Bureau of Statistics are required to optimize the Website code, redesign the Website layout, create statistical data forum, conduct statistical capacity building, and improve the data interoperability. Lesson learned from this research and its findings are potential to be adopted in other emerging economies, which strive to provide qualified data on e-government Websites to their citizens.","PeriodicalId":155412,"journal":{"name":"12th IADIS International Conference Information Systems 2019","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130547833","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ICTs are pervasive, and their societal impact is profound. Various disciplines including those of social sciences are present in the online discourse and join the public debate on societal implications of ICTs and scholar are familiar with web tools for publishing. Information Systems scholars could not only further explore the possibilities for joining that online discourse, but also could explore the potential social media may have for activities related to the research life cycle. In this paper we do not focus solely on social media as a data collection source but regard their merits as a channel for scholarly communication throughout the whole research life cycle, from the start of getting inspired to conduct a research, finding collaboration partners or funding, through suggestions for literature, to the stage of research dissemination and creating impact beyond the own scientific community. This paper contributes an original approach to research communication by combining the research life cycle with practical insights of how social media can be applied throughout each phase of that lifecycle. We conclude with some questions debating the stance that (future) IS scholars are prepared to become the digital scholar that can manoeuvre well on social media for scholarly communication.","PeriodicalId":155412,"journal":{"name":"12th IADIS International Conference Information Systems 2019","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125259568","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the main application of social commerce is ‘online brand communities’. Although utilization of social media in order to advance customer brand engagement has proliferated significantly in recent years, most of the companies do not meet the expected level of engagement of their customers. Overall, the key factors that could explain customer engagement are not yet thoroughly identified. Therefore, the current study develops a conceptual customer engagement model that aims to explain customer engagement in online brand communities. Customer engagement in brand social media is related to interactions and communications with the brand and other customers. In this study, the antecedents and outcomes of customer engagement dimensions will be investigated. As different dimensions of engagement can be influenced by factors from different aspects, it is important to cover as many categories as possible. Therefore, the model includes various factor categories including social, brand related, self-oriented and contend related factors drawn from relevant literature. The research instrument was designed, and a pilot study was conducted with 75 participants to assure content validity and to test reliability. The paper contributes to understanding the factors influencing each dimension of customer engagement to brand communities.","PeriodicalId":155412,"journal":{"name":"12th IADIS International Conference Information Systems 2019","volume":"37 9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126231139","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research starts by presenting background information of these two fields and their influence on music industry. The paper includes explanation of the most essential concepts and their role. The research is concentrated on analysis of audio features of the tracks of Spotify’s Top Songs in 2017 playlist and tries to highlight the common patterns behind the audio features of these songs. For the purposes of this research, Spotify datasets are used as practical scenario. For this reason, more detailed information is given about songs features, what are they, what do these top songs have in common and why do people like them. The result of the study showcase how singers and song makers can leverage the power of data visualization and data mining to help trying to predict one audio feature based on the others, look for patterns in the audio features of the songs and see which features correlate the most. to study the relation between learning and preference. They showed that passive exposure to melodies built in an entirely new musical system led to learning and generalization, as well as increased preference for repeated melodies.","PeriodicalId":155412,"journal":{"name":"12th IADIS International Conference Information Systems 2019","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127895254","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Companies and learning-organizations are investing huge human resources, efforts and capital to follow their users' behavior, trying to find out and plot their users' profiles. Knowing, understanding and predicting users' tangible and intangible behavior help these organizations to focus on users' needs and interests. Thus, companies and learning-organizations can generate significant intellectual capital and use this asset efficiently and effectively later. The intellectual capital asset can target into business-based and knowledge-based activities, such as pointed-newsletters, targeted markets, crystalizing pricing policies and much more. The users' profiles usually categorized into different classifications, such as social aspects, personality traits, purchase behavior, cognitive behavior, and more. The raw data for this research was collected from web users. Around one hundred thousand internet-society users from one the OECD countries were the basis of the research population. The research examines users' behavior through the net, after collecting wide range of data elements during few months period, using progressive data analysis tools and techniques, afterwards. The case study relies of real work (project), conducted from July-2018 till Feb-2019. The purpose was to recover and re-analyze the collected data after performing improper and incorrect analysis procedures by the original staff. The paper deals with the possible missteps which can happen during the data preprocessing steps in data-intensive projects and tries to understand the consequences of those early missteps can have on the end result. Specifically, the paper recounts those missteps based on real experience during a web mining project. The paper presents a guide on the procedures and decisions which should be taken to avoid or at least minimize critical mistakes during the data preprocessing step.","PeriodicalId":155412,"journal":{"name":"12th IADIS International Conference Information Systems 2019","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132830942","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
