Near infrared diffuse reflectance spectra of the samples were collected, Mahalanobis distance was used to discriminate the samples coupled with principle components analysis (PCA), the results showed that near infrared spectroscopy could determine which class one textile weave belongs to easily comparing with traditional methods. In addition, the expectation of the further research on qualitative determination of textile products by NIR technology was discussed in the end of this paper.","PeriodicalId":155352,"journal":{"name":"2010 Symposium on Photonics and Optoelectronics","volume":"124 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123441164","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to extract the feature stars, a novel method for image segmentation by use of nonsubsampled contourlet transform (NSCT) is provided by this paper. The space images are transformed by the NSCT, and then the magnitude of the NSCT coefficients of all the directional subbands at a specific level are computed and the magnitude are compared with the adaptive multilevel threshold which is gained by the Lorentz information measure (LIM), so the edges of the stars are extracted. Using the measure of consistency (F) as the evaluation criterion and compared with the Otsu method, the preliminary experimental results demonstrate the robustness and efficiency of the proposed algorithm in the presence of noise in the space image and the high accurate segmentation of this algorithm.","PeriodicalId":155352,"journal":{"name":"2010 Symposium on Photonics and Optoelectronics","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123035947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The spectral data is condensed by PCA method before modeling, and three principal components are chosen because their cumulative credibility has reached 97%. A three-layer self-organizing competitive neural network model is established based on the PCA method. Thirty-two wavelengths' absorbance is served as inputs of the self-organizing competitive neural network. The learning parameter is set as 0.01 and the training iteration is taken as 500. The conclusion is that it is feasible to apply near infrared transmission spectroscopy and reflectance spectroscopy qualitative identification model to discriminate the gasoline products as the PCA and self-organizing competitive neural networks method is used.","PeriodicalId":155352,"journal":{"name":"2010 Symposium on Photonics and Optoelectronics","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122128827","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, the threshold method was used to filter out the noise of the remote sensing image. Second, the Canny algorithm was used to detect edges and then edges of some oceanic internal wave crests were thinned. At last, the curves were determined by straight-line fitting equation. The propagation directions were obtained from north by west 47°to 76° in the northeast of Dongsha Islands. The range of wavelengths in the examples was from 1.1 to 3.5km. The result indicated two points. The first one was that the MODIS remote sensing image whose resolution was 250m could be used to study oceanic internal waves. The second one was that the improved Canny algorithm adopted to extract parameters of oceanic internal waves was feasible.","PeriodicalId":155352,"journal":{"name":"2010 Symposium on Photonics and Optoelectronics","volume":"82 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114081732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
