Due to connection rules the plant is connected to the national transmission system at 132 kV. The biomass chosen as a fuel of the generating plant is mainly poplar chip which is produced in different areas at a distance less than 70 km in order to limit their environmental impact because of transportation and related emissions and to benefits of the Italian incentives schemes related to the so called “short supply chain”. The paper will illustrate the basic idea and the most significant elements of the plant; its operative results obtained in the last 4 years are also discussed together to the plant emissions. A particular attention is spent to analyze the biomass composition and cost which make the plant operating life sustainable by the environment and economic point of view. According to the design stage, the electric energy produced by the plant is kept as near as possible to its rated value so that a suitable policy of biomass acquisition, storage and maintenance must be applied. A suitable GIS tool has also been used to compare the biomass use of the plant and a possible management of Lombardy region in order to better maintain the wooded area within a stated extension (70 km maximum distance from the plant).","PeriodicalId":15527,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Clean Energy Technologies","volume":"8 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90999535","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The resulting biogas can be transformed into liquid fuels or chemicals via reforming processes. This paper aims to study the thermodynamic equilibrium of methane reforming with different oxidants: CO 2 , H 2 O, and O 2 at atmospheric pressure using FactSage software (6.3. version). The reaction temperature plays crucial role in all cases. High methane conversion together with high selectivity in syngas (H 2 and CO) can be only obtained above 750°C. An excess in oxidants is also required to limit the formation of solid carbon. Taking into account the fact that biogas usually contains more CH 4 than CO 2 , steam addition to biogas reforming medium is recommended to get high methane conversion and to increase the molar ratio of H 2 /CO, which is favorable for liquid fuels or chemical production via Fisher-Tropsch synthesis, methanol synthesis or hydrogen production.","PeriodicalId":15527,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Clean Energy Technologies","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85650516","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, this model has many defects, e.g., the management of the data flow in the dispatch control system is very difficult, and the running efficiency of the dispatch control system is very bad too. This paper presents a regional network centralized protected mode(RNCPM) of the smart grid and establishes a new dispatch control integration system (DCIS)of the smart grid. The system architecture and key technologies of the DCIS based on RNCPM are proposed. A new communication architecture and the new features of the unified cross-section panoramic data(UCSPA) is studied. A new scheduling operation and management mode and panoramic data system platform of smart grid are developed. The DCIS under RNCPM can have integrated the schedule and monitor of the smart grid. The proposed system will lead to a new operation and maintenance mode of smart grid. The new system will further optimize the scheduling and workflow transformer of the substation. And the overall level of smart grid security and emergency levels will be significant raised.","PeriodicalId":15527,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Clean Energy Technologies","volume":"38 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77796205","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Technical and economic performances of three kinds of batteries including lithium ion battery, sodium-sulfur battery and vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) are discussed as illustrations of standby supply of thermal power plants. As the spinning reserve power sources, they can achieve remarkable economic benefits in the life cycle despite their high power costs and energy costs. The reserve capacity of battery energy storage systems can improve generation rates of thermal power plants, decline gross coal consumption rates, decrease generating cost and the emission of carbon dioxide and pollutants, thus playing a significant role in energy conservation and emission reduction.","PeriodicalId":15527,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Clean Energy Technologies","volume":"3 1","pages":"232-235"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79485558","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With so many issues regarding technological policies, greenhouse gases, fuel prices, and day to day accessibility to fuel types, we are left with very few solutions to recover energy, and even use it. Practical solutions include the likes of renewable energy and alternate fuel. Renewable energy spans across using solar, wind, and water kinematics majorly for our energy and electrical consumption. Energy generation methods like alternative fueling, suggests the use of biomass to create biodiesel, bioethanol, and electricity as the sustainable substitute to our transportation needs. While these sources of energy and fuel are useful substitutes currently, they are not efficient enough to completely rule out gasoline and generated electricity, especially in financial markets. Ethanol and biodiesel both require land to grow crops, and must go through hurdles within government policy to avoid politics involving limiting food sources in countries. Without a doubt, we are in a competitive race to determine the planet’s next generation energy solutions and fueling sources. This paper analyzes the literature currently available on research relevant to food waste’s utilization as an energy generating feedstock, along with the environmental and economic impacts it could have as a feasible solution.","PeriodicalId":15527,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Clean Energy Technologies","volume":"39 1","pages":"197-203"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85587895","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
