Do we need to learn man management, store management, medical store management, and handling and maintenance of accounts? We need to compete with guys with MBAs and handle administrative issues as well as they do, if not better. We are not taught about administration in medical schools whereas they have a structured and well-defined course before they take over as Administrative heads of medical centers. A physician learns all the nuances of administration ‘on the job’. It is high time we made an extra effort to learn administration as it is incredibly important in today’s health services.","PeriodicalId":15434,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Complementary Medicine & Alternative Healthcare","volume":"52 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86848915","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

PSD is the most common mood disorder in patients that its prevalence in women was more than men. The aim of this study was to determine the relation between PSD and CT-scan and MRI findings and the degree of functional degradation in patients after the stroke. Methods: This descriptive-analytical study was performed on patients with stroke. All of them had depression based on Beck’s depression test. Necessary information including cardiovascular risk factors, type of ischemia, involved hemisphere, involved artery and extent of conflict were recorded in a checklist and the functional degradation in patients is calculated by scores of the Modified Rankin Scale (MRS). Collected data analyzed by statistical methods in SPSS version 21. Results: In this study, 100 patients (43 males and 57 females with an average age of 63.97 years) were studied. Of all patients, 71% had mild depression. Of all patients, 80% had ischemic lesions, 56% had involvement in right hemisphere, 39% in frontal and 39% in the cerebral- anterior. Conclusion: The results showed that depression in women is more than men. The prevalent degree of depression was mild, the form of stroke was ischemic type and the most area involved was right hemisphere of the brain.","PeriodicalId":15434,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Complementary Medicine & Alternative Healthcare","volume":"3 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76078985","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its use allows to safe time avoiding deleterious effects from other diagnostic techniques such as ionizing radiation, which is specially important in children. POCUS is based on a multi-scan syndromic approach of medical problems more than scanning some specific anatomical areas. In other words, POCUS is able to stablish a diagnosis by scanning different organs views. We present two cases of unidentified pneumothorax suspected by using non-lung point-of-care ultrasound, confirmed posteriorly by lung ultrasound. In all cases high frequency linear transducers (5-10Hz) were used for evaluating superficial structures (neck, pleura) and the lung was scanned in a longitudinal plane, placing the probe perpendicular to the chest wall.","PeriodicalId":15434,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Complementary Medicine & Alternative Healthcare","volume":"22 18 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90338609","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sastric form of Ayurveda churna is difficult to use by patients due to the coarse powder form as well as the high quantity to be cosumed per dose (2-4gm). In order to enhance the acceptance of Ayurveda churna by the modern world necessary change in presentation packaging is needed. The question of how to convert 2gms of churna to 500mg of tablet requires greater scientific investigations and understanding. We have used the extractive value as the key determining factor to convert sastric Ayurveda churna to tablet dosage form. Details are presented in the paper.","PeriodicalId":15434,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Complementary Medicine & Alternative Healthcare","volume":"64 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82787997","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While IBD is especially common among western populations, the incidence of IBD in China has increased rapidly in recent years because of the widely adopted westernized lifestyle [1]. The etiology and pathogenesis of IBD are not fully understood, and effective therapeutics are lacking. A healthy, balanced intestinal microbiome plays a key role in maintaining whole-body homeostasis. Significant alterations to the gut microbiome, referred to as dysbiosis, are present in most chronic inflammatory disease. Intestinal dysbiosis is a defining feature of IBD, with some even considering it to be causative. Indeed, manipulating the gut microbiome has been shown to greatly alleviate the symptoms of IBD [2]. Harmonious blend of science that are demonstrable with contemporary tools of investigation and its artistic application to understand the sick make that medical system rational therapeutics. Homeopathy originated as a new medical approach in early 18th century is based on definite scientific and artistic concepts. The system is based on seven principles/ theories, codified by Dr Hahnemann, its founder. The practice of homeopathy was well accepted by the public from the very inception due to safety of medicine and effectiveness. The popularity of homeopathy spread across the globe even during the life of investigations and the artistic approaches used by the practitioners.
