Therefore, this anxiety should be identified quickly. This study investigates the psychometric properties of the Turkish version of Coronavirus Anxiety Inventory (CAS), which determines the anxiety associated with the COVID-19 crisis. The research sample consists of 904 participants from 56 provinces of Turkey. Participants' age ranged from 17 to 71. The exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis revealed a good unidimensional structure with a Turkish sample. The correlation between the CAS Turkish version and the Burnout Scale (0.39 p < 0.01) is significant as the convergent validity. Also, correlation between the CAS Turkish version and the Brief Resilience Scale (-0.23 p < 0.01) is significant as the discriminant validity. The internal consistency coefficient (Cronbach's Alpha) was found 0.81. As a result of the Item Discrimination analysis, it was seen that each of the 5 items was discrimination at the desired level. The item-total correlation values in the scale ranged from 0.73 to 0.79. Overall findings showed that the psychometric properties of the Turkish version of the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale were sufficient. Panic Disorder (PD), in the category of anxiety disorders, is identified as extreme fear and uneasiness, repeated and unexpected panic attacks. When coexisting with agoraphobia associated with poor quality of life, it becomes a chronic feature, which can disable the person functionally. The study shows that childhood traumas, domestic violence, smoking, alcohol abuse, marriage problems, specific tragic events, tend to be anxious, and such like situations increase the risk of suffering from panic disorder. Applications of CBT-based technique specific to panic disorder aim to break the vicious cycle and restructure the patients' thoughts. The purpose of the review is to explain different concepts such as bibliotherapy, cognitive restructuring, Socratic questioning, relaxation techniques, systematic desensitization, exposure, psycho-education, coping strategies, homework and mindfulness techniques. The review also aims to evaluate the effectiveness of these concepts. Generally, CBT techniques can help patients regulate cognition by handling their emotions and behavior caused by thoughts. Thus, the study also examines internet-based CBT, family, and group therapy works used in the panic disorder CBT model. The literature shows that CBT is an effective therapy technique for panic disorder.","PeriodicalId":15388,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy and Research","volume":"69 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90167642","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are studies showing that the individual can negatively affect the quality of life when the mizofoni is not treated. Misophonia is not yet included in psychiatric classification systems. Experience in this area is limited to case reports. In this study, a 10-year-old girl with misophonia complaints was described. Method: Cognitive behavioral therapy method was applied to the girl who came with misophonia complaints at the age of 10 years. Results: In our study, the girl case benefited from CBT. The short time between the onset of complaints and the initiation of the diagnosis and treatment application resulted in a rapid response to CBT. Conclusion: CBT would be successfully applied in the child age group with misophonia.","PeriodicalId":15388,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy and Research","volume":"14 1","pages":"268-274"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81972959","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: This research was conducted with cross-sectional and correlational research designs. The study included 667 people age ranging from 13 to 24 years who attended various classes of secondary schools, high schools, and universities. Hierarchical linear regression analysis was used to examine whether imaginary audience, personal fable, irrational beliefs, and gender variables predicted negative self-concept levels of the participants. Brief Symptom Inventory for Adolescents, Irrational Beliefs Scale Adult and Adolescent Form, Egocentrism Scales Adult and Adolescent Form were used as data collection tools. The analyses were carried out separately for the participants in puberty (13-15), adolescence (16-18) and emerging adulthood (19-24) stages. Results: At the end of the study, in all three developmental periods, it was determined that the imaginary audience and irrational beliefs were positive predictors of the negative self-concept. In addition, it was founded that irrational beliefs have a partial mediator role in the relationship between negative self-concept and imaginary audience of adolescents and emerging adults. Discussion: It has been concluded that intervention studies on irrational beliefs of adolescents and emerging adults may partially heal or even prevent the negative effects of the imaginary audience on self-concept.","PeriodicalId":15388,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy and Research","volume":"93 1","pages":"1"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85180977","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nonetheless, only a few studies have thus far evaluated the degree of fear of COVID-19, partially due to the lack of validated measures. This study was planned and conducted to study of the Fear of COVID-19 Scale adapted to Turkish culture which to measure level of fear of adult individuals Coronavirus Disease and developed by Ahorsu et al. (2020). In the study, over 18 years old adults has been achieved through a online questionnaire form who living in Turkey. 839 individuals were analyzed. In the first part of the questionnaire form, demographic features were questioned, and in the second part, Fear of COVID-19 Scale was applied. The scale is five-item likert type consisting of 7 questions. Whether there is a correlation between the items that is a prerequisite for the study factor analysis was examined by Bartlett Sphericity Test (x2 = 2770.755, p 0.5) and Cronbach alpha internal consistency coefficients (0.874). As a result of the analyzes, the adaptation of the Fear of COVID-19 Scale to Turkish is robust and can be used in research assessing the psychological impact of COVID-19 among a Turkish adult population.","PeriodicalId":15388,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy and Research","volume":"40 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90826012","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, 35 morbidly obese individuals before bariatric surgery were evaluated with Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST) and Oktem Verbal Memory Processes Test (OVMPT). A significant positive correlation was found between axiety and depressive scores and perseverative error. In addition, a significant positive correlation was found between BAE scores and number of perseverative error (r = 0.381, p= 0.024) and percentage of perseverative error (r = 0.3337, p= 0.048). There was a significant positive correlation between BDI scores and percentage of perseverative error (r = 0.3337, p= 0.048). According to hierarchical regression analysis, 20.6% anxiety scores were explained by instant and long-term memory and perseverative error scores (F = 3.94, p= 0.017). Inclusion of cognitive flexibility and memory-related cognitive remediation programs in weight reduction strategies after bariatric surgery in individuals with depression and anxiety symptoms may be beneficial in increasing postoperative weight loss success.","PeriodicalId":15388,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy and Research","volume":"77 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91098322","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
