Abstract
ABSTRACT Objective: Misophonia is a recently described condition characterized by autonomic arousal and unpleasant emotional experiences against some specific voices. There are studies showing that the individual can negatively affect the quality of life when the mizofoni is not treated. Misophonia is not yet included in psychiatric classification systems. Experience in this area is limited to case reports. In this study, a 10-year-old girl with misophonia complaints was described. Method: Cognitive behavioral therapy method was applied to the girl who came with misophonia complaints at the age of 10 years. Results: In our study, the girl case benefited from CBT. The short time between the onset of complaints and the initiation of the diagnosis and treatment application resulted in a rapid response to CBT. Conclusion: CBT would be successfully applied in the child age group with misophonia.
