This is primarily because emotions are inextricably linked to crucial aspects of human existence such as behaviour, lifestyle, feelings and their expression, comprehension of the surrounding environment, and the human experience of life-altering circumstances. Every individual’s emotional landscape, as well as their linguistic expression, reflects a unique array of emotions. The article provides an overview of theoretical sources and examines the intricacies of the “concept” notion, which is central to the cognitive linguistics metalanguage. Moreover, the article introduces the term “emotional concept”, which constitutes fragments of the emotional landscape of an individual. In light of this, the language employed by select authors is of significant interest, as their works serve as a model of personal reinterpretation, while also reflecting their way of life, internal experiences, and the accuracy of their linguistic personality’s depiction of reality. The research presented in this article formulates and outlines methods for expressing the emotional concept of “sadness”, using the stories of Transcarpathian writer Andriy Lyubka as an exemplar. The emotional state of sadness has long captivated the attention of scholars across diverse fields of study. This is primarily because, alongside joy, it represents one of the two fundamental, polar emotions. The concept of sadness is universal, as it is comprehensible and relatable across all societies. Individuals can find themselves residing at the intersection of various intervals of sadness, which may arise from losses, disappointments, or physical and emotional pain. Given the universal and profound nature of this emotion, an exploration of Andrii Lyubka’s literary works allows for an examination of how the emotional concept of “sadness” is expressed across multiple language levels, including phraseology, stylistics, phonetics, morphology, and non-verbal communication. This research provides numerous examples that illustrate the description, usage, and implementation of the “sadness” concept within both written texts and spoken language.\u0000Key words: cognitive linguistics, linguistics of emotions, concept, emotional concept, emotional picture of the world, Andrii Lyubka.

It deals with the causes of these stereotypes and characterizes the ways to overcome them based on M. Bennett’s model of intercultural sensitivity development and stereotype-oriented learning, which Korean students studied during lectures on the discipline “Understanding the Modern Slavic Cultural Code”. The procedure of the analysis went through several stages: 1) revealing stereotypes through anonymous surveys among students; 2) quantitative and qualitative analysis of the data obtained; 3) stereotype-oriented /non-stereotyped teaching and feedback from the students. \u0000The results of the first stage of the survey show that in Korean-Slavic intercultural communication, Korean students are mostly at the ethnocentric stage. This is due to the lack of information about Ukraine and Ukrainians and Poland and Poles in the Korean media, personal contacts, as well as “old” stereotypes inherited from the older generation. Instead, at the end of the academic year, Korean students progressed to the ethno-relativistic stage thanks to stereotype-oriented learning, which helped them understand many specific features of Slavic cultures (especially Ukrainian and Polish). Therefore, further study of the formation and overcoming of stereotypes in Korean-Slavic communication will contribute to the integration of three cultures and successful intercultural communication between Koreans and Ukrainians and Poles.\u0000Key words: Korean-Slavic intercultural communication, Korean students, Ukraine, Poland, stereotypes, developmental model of intercultural sensitivity (DMIS).

During the classes of Ukrainian as a foreign language (hereinafter referred to as UFL), communication takes place between participants belonging to different national linguistic and cultural communities, so the need for international understanding remains relevant both in terms of internal politics and, in particular, the foreign policy relations of Ukraine. The article’s author seeks to address whether the repertoire of thematic catalogues required for proficiency levels in Ukrainian as a foreign language encompass the topic of war. Additionally, the article explores the timeline and differing interpretations regarding the nature of the Russian-Ukrainian war. The study utilized specific research materials, employing general linguistic methods such as descriptive analysis and comparison. The conducted analysis confirmed that the sub-topic war is in the repertoire of thematic catalogues in the Standardized requirements for the levels of proficiency in the Ukrainian language as a foreign language (level B1-C2). The timeline of the Russian-Ukrainian war is uncertain – from the period of occupation and annexation of the Republic of Crimea (in 2014) to today. During UFL classes, the falsity of the versions of the civil war in Ukraine or the illegal annexation of Crimea and the civil armed conflict in Donbas should be exposed (as popularized interpretations of events until February 24, 2022, in particular). The Russian-Ukrainian war (from 2014 to the present day) is an interstate armed conflict caused by the aggression of the Russian Federation not only against Ukraine, goes beyond the scope of a bilateral confrontation, the nature of which most fully reveals the meaning of the concept of “hybrid war”.\u0000Key words: Russian-Ukrainian war (from 2014 to today), hybrid war, lexical-semantic means of naming war events in Ukraine, UFL.

The scientific novelty of the article is that, for the first time in linguistics, the textual category of connectivity is presented in the communicative aspect. Research methods were used: contextual-interpretive (to justify the status of the text, reconstruction of the author’s (communicative) intention, motives, purpose, general content, orientation of the text to the address, etc.), compositional (to clarify the dynamic unfolding of the text), pragmatic (to identify means ). implementation of communicative interaction between addresser and addressee, study of the problems of communicative modeling of the text, its pragmatic nature and main functions - an intermediary between the author and the reader, determination of pragmatic characteristics of the intentions and strategies of the text), semiotic (for the interpretation of the text as a sign). It shapes the image of Ukraine. Not only the results are important, but also the representation in various sports and its massive popularity among the population. All of this affects the development of sports in the country and the interest in it among foreigners, which creates conditions for attracting foreign sports journalists, athletes, and other sports professionals to Ukrainian sports. Due to the war, the role of sport has become more significant in the socio-cultural dimension. There is a need to create conditions for teaching foreign sports professionals the Ukrainian language. It is also necessary to make it possible to make such studying directly based on sports texts to ensure quick adaptation of foreigners in their professional activities. \u0000The publication is devoted to the study of texts on sports topics (in particular, sports lexicon) as learning material in the process of teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language (hereinafter - UFL). Sports topics have been the subject of study for Ukrainian scholars as teaching material in language classes, but there is still a lack of research to reveal its full potential. This problem has not been sufficiently studied, although the topic of sports is used in textbooks on UFL. Most textbooks for learning Ukrainian as a foreign language contain sports texts to a greater or lesser extent.\u0000The importance of working out the potential of sports lexis to be a material for teaching UFL is argued. Some aspects of the usage of sports lexis in teaching Ukrainian to a foreign language audience are revealed: the language situation in Ukrainian sports and sports educational institutions, the required level of proficiency in Ukrainian as a foreign language, phraseological units in sports texts, and socio-cultural information.\u0000 The article also presents a sample lesson from the UFL course on sports which was approbated in classes with foreign students. \u0000Key words: sport, Ukrainian as a foreign language, sports terminology, sport lexis.

Important stages of establishment of this field of knowledge are highlighted. Special attention is paid to the main lexicographical works, which became basic in the formation of the term system. The relevance of scientific research is determined by the need for a scientific description of the history of the development of Ukrainian computer terminology, as well as the need to determine the periodization of the formation of Ukrainian computer terminology. To realize the goal, the following tasks were completed1) describe the development of IT technologies in Ukraine; 2) the main stages of the adoption of computer terms against the background of the development of the computer industry are revealed; 3) lexicographical works that became basic in the formation of the computer sphere were carefully considered; 4) the peculiarities of the functioning of computer terms at each stage of development are established.\u0000The study of the history of the formation and development of industry terminology against the background of the development of information technologies in Ukraine makes it possible to determine the main regularities of the formation of the term system, to forecast the trends of its development using logical and linguistic ordering and a well-founded lexicographic description.\u0000The development and systematization of computer terminology are complex and ambiguous. We single out five important stages of the establishment of the computer industry against the background of the development of IT technologies in Ukraine: the 1st stage (beginning of the 20th century); 2nd (1941–1959); 3rd (1960-1989); 4th (1990–2000); 5th (early 2000 – until today). We trace that the emergence of information technologies in Ukraine dates back to 1914, however, due to intralingual and extra lingual factors, Ukrainian computer terminology developed sluggishly during the first and second periods.\u0000However, the fourth and fifth periods are characterized by rapid development and consistent systematization of the branch terminology. The main lexicographic works, which can be called basic in the formation of computer terminology, were the dictionaries of the 20 and 30 years of the 20th century. An important basis for establishing and codifying computer term units is the “Cybernetics Encyclopedia”, and at the current stage of development, online dictionaries of they IT. The advantages of using of the innovative technologies in the modern educational process, in particular, during the study of the Ukrainian language as a foreign language, have been determined. Ways to overcome the communication barriers in the process of distance learning are identified, one of which is seemed to be in mastering of the information technologies. The important online tools for organizing a high-quality and interesting educational process are characterized. Available information means (interactive whiteboards, platforms, and other online resources) are described. For example, such information tools that contribute to the activation of students, diversify the means of communication between students and teachers, and allow creating a database of educational materials that is accessible and convenient for viewing at any time.\u0000Emphasis is placed on the problem of adaptation of foreign students in the conditions of distance learning. It could be noted that such adaptation is primarily facilitated by the selection of information resources for the organization of a high-quality educational process with the provision of feedback.
