All underwent\u0000 venous indwelling needle procedures. Equally divided into an control group (CG) and an experimental group (EG), each with 35 cases, the CG received standard intervention with lidocaine, while the EG received additional self-made hot compress sleeves. Evaluation parameters included changes\u0000 in skin temperature at the infusion site, needle indwelling duration, phlebitis incidence, needle blockage, pain, and comfort. The EG exhibited significantly higher skin temperatures at the infusion site compared to the CG (P <0.05). Needle indwelling duration was notably prolonged\u0000 in the EG versus the CG (P <0.05). Phlebitis incidence was notably lower in the EG (14.29%) than the CG (37.14%) (P <0.05). No significant difference was found in needle blockage rates between groups (25.71% in CG, 17.14% in experimental) (P > 0.05). Pain scores\u0000 were notably lower, and comfort scores were higher in the EG (all, P < 0.05). Combining lidocaine with a self-made hot compress cuff significantly mitigates venous indwelling needle injuries in otolaryngology surgeries. This combined approach enhances skin temperature, extends needle\u0000 indwelling time, reduces phlebitis and needle blockage risks, alleviates patient discomfort, and elevates overall comfort during venous indwelling needle procedures.

A total of 80 patients with PTC scheduled for surgery in our hospital between August 2019\u0000 and December 2022 were recruited. Patients with neck lymph node metastasis were categorized as the experimental group, and patients without neck lymph node metastasis were included in the control group. Patients’ ultrasound signs were analyzed, and serological indices were determined.\u0000 Logistic analysis was performed to determine the risk factors for the development of postoperative neck lymph node metastasis in papillary thyroid cancer, and the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was employed to assess their diagnostic efficiency. Significant differences were\u0000 observed in the number of lesions, nodule size, calcification, blood flow RI, and PI values comparison between the two arms (P < 0.05), while no significant differences were found in other ultrasound signs (P > 0.05). Patients with neck lymph node metastasis exhibited significantly\u0000 higher serum concentrations of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and anti-thyroglobulin antibodies (TG-Ab) versus those without metastasis (P < 0.05). Nodule size, number of lesions, and serum TSH level were independent risk factors for metastasis in neck lymph nodes in patients\u0000 with papillary thyroid cancer (P <0.05). Conventional ultrasound signs, combined with serologic indices, demonstrated the highest diagnostic efficiency for predicting neck lymph node metastasis in patients with papillary thyroid cancer. These findings showed a sensitivity of 0.868,\u0000 specificity of 0.894, and an area under the ROC curve (AUC) of 0.918. Additionally, the Jorden index was calculated to be 0.761. Analysis revealed that nodule size, number of lesions, and serum TSH concentration were independent risk factors for neck lymph node metastasis in papillary thyroid\u0000 cancer patients. The combination of conventional ultrasound signs and serologic indices provided a higher diagnostic value compared to using a single diagnostic modality, thus indicating promising clinical benefits.

Ninety-nine extracted human premolars were assigned to nine groups (eight experimental and one control), each including 11 specimens. The experimental groups were bonded to either metal or ceramic brackets and prepared using a total-or self-etchant with a pre-coated or flash-free adhesive system. All specimens were immersed in an artificial demineralization solution for 7 days at pH 4.5 and 37 °C. The brackets were debonded, and the specimens were sectioned buccolingually at the right and left sides of the bracket base margins. Scanning electron microscopy was used to assess the demineralization depth using ImageJ software. Significantly deeper enamel demineralization was observed in all bonded teeth compared to non-bonded teeth (p < 0.001). The adhesive system had no significant effect on the demineralization depth. Metal brackets caused significantly deeper enamel demineralization than ceramic brackets (p <0.005). The use of the total-etch surface treatment caused deeper demineralization compared to that of the self-etch treatment. In conclusion, bonded teeth exhibit deeper enamel demineralization than non-bonded teeth. Metal brackets contribute to deeper demineralization than ceramic brackets. Materials and Methods: The conventional casts were prepared using polyether dental impressions. Digital impressions of the typodont reference casts were accomplished using an intra-oral scanner. The digital casts were first converted to stereolithography (STL) files which were then edited, and printed using an SLA printer and photo-polymer resin material. The measurements of the first two groups were completed using a digital caliper, while an imaging software was used to measure digital casts. The occlusocervial (OC) height and mesiodistal (MD) width of canines, second premolars (PMs), and molars of each jaw were measured. Additionally, intercanine width (ICW) and intermolar width (IMW) were also measured. Results: Overall, the lowest OC measurement errors were observed for 3D-printed casts for the upper canine, lower canine, and lower molar (0.003±0.01 mm). Similarly, the lowest MD measurement errors were observed for 3D-printed casts for upper canine, upper PM, and lower PM (0.002±0.01 mm). The ICW and IMW measurement errors for the 3D-printed casts were significantly lower (p < 0.01) for the upper ICW (0.011±0.01 mm) and lower IMW (0.017±0.01 mm) than the other two groups. Compared to the conventional and digital casts, the lower ICW (0.013±0.01 mm) and upper IMW (0.017±0.01 mm) measurement errors observed for the 3D-printed casts were also lower, but non-significantly (p > 0.01).
