This is because mosque library is essential for the preservation of books and other resources on religion and facilitates learning of religious ethics, guides, practices, and norms. If they are well developed and managed, they can help to prevent immoral and other social vices which Islam forbids. With the availability of a mosque library, Muslims can always go to this library to satisfy their religious and mundane information needs without being exposed to the immoral/haram activities that they are likely to encounter in other public, national, academic and some other types of library. This study aims to find out the awareness of southwestern Nigerians about mosque library, its existence in the region, level of use and challenges militating against its development. The survey research design was adopted for this study using the quantitative method of data collection with a semi-structured questionnaire as the research instrument. The sample population of the study includes 60 Nigerians from the southwest part of the country. The participants were purposively and randomly (nested sampling) selected. Upon analysis of the data collected, the results of the findings revealed that little is known about mosque library and its existence in the region while the available ones are those that are attached to the mosques in some academic tertiary institutions in the region. Some few other ones are in existence in some parts of the communities in the region but they are less developed and lack professional personnel to manage their resources. As such, the study concludes and recommends that relevant Islamic leaders and bodies in the region should divert their attention towards the development of mosque libraries and embark on publicity drive to increase the awareness of Muslims about the value and importance of mosque libraries.","PeriodicalId":152506,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Knowledge & Communication Management","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128979141","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Here majority students are searching for information via Google search engine and others are followed. Random sampling technique has been used to distribute 175 questionnaires and a response rate of 136 (77.71%) were recorded. Majority of the respondents were males occupying 113 (83.08%) and females were 23 (16.92%) from a total of 136 respondents. It was seen that 118 (86.76%) showed a positive response whereas 18 (13.24%) denied having any knowledge on Internet usage. Majority of the students using Internet are daily users (73.73%) followed by weekly (10.17%), monthly (9.32%), and occasionally (6.78%). Again we can see that Mechanical Engineering (MeE) and Automobile Engineering (AE) students (16.10%) consume more Internet data than the other departments followed by Electrical and Communication Engineering (ECE) students (15.25%). Lowest Internet data are consumed by Marine Engineering (MaE) accounting to (11.86%). Finally it can be observed from the findings of the study that students 47(39.83%) use Internet for preparing homework, assignments followed by 35(29.66%) students use Internet for keeping up with the current trends related to their field of study.","PeriodicalId":152506,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Knowledge & Communication Management","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132751317","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a multidisciplinary field at the intersection of engineering, physics, chemistry, biochemistry, nanotechnology and biotechnology with practical applications in the design of systems in which low volumes of fluids are processed to achieve multiplexing, automation and high-throughput screening. A total of 35,308 documents are recorded for the study during 2008–2017. All the bibliographic data retrieved from Scopus database and found that 597 documents are open access and the rest 34,711 are available in other sources. It is found that 35,308 documents are published in different journals during 2008–2017 in various regions by many profound authors with respect to different keywords and affiliation. Now the research is multifarious and many scientists are engaged in research round the corners of the world. As a result the research became micro in nature where the scientists are doing their research in a very specific field. Further research in this field is dynamic since other multi-disciplinary subjects are also associated with the research in this field.","PeriodicalId":152506,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Knowledge & Communication Management","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130380784","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To guide the study, three research questions were posed and three hypotheses formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The study adopted a correlational research design. Census enumeration sampling technique was applied to adopt the entire population of 278 library staff of the libraries studied as sample. Rating scale was used to elicit data for the study. The research questions were answered with mean score while Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) was used to test the hypotheses. Findings reveal that: there is a significant but low positive relationship between job satisfaction and use of memo among library staff; there is very low and not significant positive relationship between job satisfaction and use of query among library staff; there is very low and insignificant positive relationship between job satisfaction and use of newsletter among library staff. Based on the findings, the researchers recommended that the management of public libraries in Abia State and Imo State should, from time to time, assess their personnel level of job satisfaction since satisfaction has to do with communication and individuals’ attitude and personal feelings.","PeriodicalId":152506,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Knowledge & Communication Management","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121134498","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
