Recent route planners take care of incidents on the roads. However, none of these planners takes care of the future. Dangovski","doi":"10.1145/3274005.3274027","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1145/3274005.3274027","url":null,"abstract":"During a prolonged time execution, deep recurrent neural networks suffer from the so-called long-term dependency problem due to their recurrent connection. Although Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks provide a temporary solution to this problem, they have inferior long-term memory capabilities which limit their applications. We use a recent approach for a recurrent neural network model implementing a unitary matrix in its recurrent connection to deal with long-term dependencies, without affecting its memory abilities. The model is capable of high technical results, but due to insufficient implementation does not achieve the expected performance. We optimize the implementation and architecture of the model, achieving time performance up to 5 times better than the original implementation. Medical texts are usually written by professionals and can be difficulty understood by non experts who do not have the same skills and vocabularies. Thus, it would be desirable to have an online medical vocabulary-thesaurus-dictionary that can help a non expert to easily find the consumer equivalent of medical (technical) terms and additional consumer information. To this end, we have developed an online multilingual medical vocabulary-thesaurus-dictionary by interconnecting different online sources, i.e., medical vocabularies to create a list of technical terms, consumer health vocabularies (CHVs) for translating technical terms into their consumer equivalents and consumer dictionaries for finding explanations of the terms. In addition, we have built an online editor that allows to add new medical terms (with the related consumer information) and modify existing consumer terms and definitions. Furthermore, we have built some practical applications, on top of the medical vocabulary-thesaurus-dictionary, in order to facilitate the empowerment of patients, or non-experts in general. The signal processing realized incudes the Fast Fourier Transform, the corresponding spectrogram visualization, and the spectrogram's peaks localization. These peaks indicate some of the resonant frequencies of the structure investigated. In addition, a Matlab tool with the same vibration signal processing capabilities is developed. It uses the vibration data previously saved with the LabView virtual instrument and is not able to work in real time, but is more functional and has a better results visualization. The LabView virtual instrument is tested with a mechanical plane frame structure and results are compared with theoretically obtained ones. In the last decade, many frameworks oriented to visual languages have been introduced in literature to improve the skill on programming languages, but at the best of our knowledge, no framework has been specially designed to support collaborative work on heterogeneous distributed environments. Therefore, SIRENE introduces a new framework in which beginners and experts can cooperate to develop algorithms by using a visual and iconic paradigm. Students, in the classroom or connected from everywhere, can be involved into the definition of the algorithm, can asynchronously modify the common working space, show a visual function to expert, thus the server hosts a shared space in which the algorithms can be visualised and modified by all of the SIRENE clients. Sulov","doi":"10.1145/3274005.3274018","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1145/3274005.3274018","url":null,"abstract":"The publication presents the results of empirical research on web technologies used in the home pages of the Finland commercial banks authorized under Finland Legislation to carry on commercial banking business and supervised by the Finland Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA). The home pages of 9 commercial banks were studied. Our survey reveals details about the proportion of the web technologies used in the respective web sites. The mean home page size is around 2.5 MB (±3.7 SD, median - 1.3) and the share of the images is around 41%. The share of the other web components is as follows: JavaScript programs - around 35%, CSS files - 10%, Font files - 7%. The size of the main HTML file is only 7% of the size of whole web page. The mean total number of requests that the web browser makes in order to display the home page is around 64 separate requests - 23 requests for images, 19 for JavaScript, 7 for CSS files, 6 for Font files. Only one of the surveyed web sites is using HTTP/2. The rest are using as minimum HTTP 1.1. We developed a user-friendly interface to organize Neuron simulations and to present in real-time a three-dimensional representation of the electrical activity due to the gap junctions which interconnect the cells inside cardiac tissues. One of the major means of providing alternative care is the use of social robots. Several robotic examples have already been developed to interact and assist with autistic kids. This work is a contribution in the same domain. In this paper, we present our proposed human-robotic interaction system to assist autistic children. Our methodology makes use of multimodal fusion and fission as the basis for the interaction. The proposed solution is different from existing ones in the sense that the interaction between the autistic child and the robot is based on the context of the child.
