Organic ligand was synthesized by condensation of equimolar mixture of Anti-mycobacterial agent with aromatic aldehyde. The reaction progress and purity of organic ligands were confirmed by thin layer chromatography. Formation of organic ligands was confirmed with the help of MP, IR, H NMR, C NMR and elemental analysis. The stability constants of these binary complexes were evaluated and order of stability constant found as Zn (II) >Ni (II) > Cu (II) > Mn (II) > Co (II).","PeriodicalId":15083,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Biological and chemical Chronicles","volume":"36 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86697981","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the synthesis of this classical Schiffs base, potassium hydroxide (KOH) is used as a base under ultrasonic conditions. Various reaction parameters were explored to find out optimal reaction conditions viz. effect of solvent, temperature, time, and ultrasound wave. The synthesized ligand was identified by comparing with standard product on TLC and further confirmed by melting point, IR and mass analysis. The ligand is then used for complexation with transition metal (iron) using ultrasound as a facilitator.","PeriodicalId":15083,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Biological and chemical Chronicles","volume":"154 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75766450","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

All the known beetles of family Bruchidae feed on seeds of 34 families of kingdom Plantae and about 80% of them feed on the seeds belonging to family Fabaceae. Bruchids attacking green pods of wild legumes are usually univoltine, has specific but long developmental period and life span. These are generally referred as field bruchids. Field studies on the biology of Bruchidius albizziae Arora (Coleoptera: Bruchidae) on the pods of Acacia catechu Willd revealed that the heavy seed infestation occurred from early March to second week of April, 2014. The study on biology of B. albizziae on seed pods indicated 7.0±1.49 days oviposition period, 6.5±1.08 days incubation period, larval period 39.7±2.33 days while pupal period was 6.4±1.17 days. The adult longevity for male was 10.9 ± 1.66 days where as for female 12.7 ± 2.49 days. The total developmental period was 48.2 ± 4.15 days. Along with the emergence of adult bruchids, a larval parasitoid, Entedon albiziarum Rasplus (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae: Entedontinae) has also been recorded. This bio-controlling agent plays an important role in the suppression of pest population in the field.","PeriodicalId":15083,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Biological and chemical Chronicles","volume":"6 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85201336","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Preparation of polymer follows green chemistry protocol with respect to green solvent utilization and zero waste generation. The thiol products are responsive for further derivatization and were modified to a sulphide. The above mentioned reactions were also carried out using microwave heating to achieve maximum yet uniform modification of red toon lignin. The extent of the derivatization processes was confirmed by iodine titration and precipitation titration. The prepared material have been characterised by some physical and chemical methods such as analytical determination, FTIR, SEM and EDX analysis. The analytical results supported highest sulphur content of 47.93% in thiomer. Synthesised green thiomers have been explored as arsenic ion sorbent at 60ppm. The result showed maximum sorption efficiency 86-90% for Fe(III) in aqueous system.","PeriodicalId":15083,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Biological and chemical Chronicles","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84540552","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also there are lots of challenges to make these systems site specific for effective drug delivery for extended period of time. A novel biodegradable, injectable polymeric system namely in-situ forming implants (ISFIs) looks very promising drug delivery system. In-situ gel formation of drug delivery systems can be defined as a liquid formulation generating a solid or semisolid depot after administration. It is a blend of drug and biodegradable polymers dissolved or suspended in pharmaceutically acceptable water-miscible organic solvents. These are generally liquid formulations that form semi-solid or solid depots after injection at the injection site due to phase separation and provide a prolonged release over weeks to few months duration. After subcutaneous injection of ISFI the organic solvent dissipates into the surrounding tissue as water penetrates in, this leads to phase separation and precipitation of the polymer forming a depot (gel) at the injection site. The drug entrapped in the depot is then slowly released out into the surrounding body fluid due to the degradation of the polymers and finally reaches the systemic circulation. These high-value formulations ensure patient compliance; will contribute in the design and development of biotechnologically based products. The present review mainly focuses on advantages, disadvantages, classification, composition, methods and evaluation of in-situ gelling implants.","PeriodicalId":15083,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Biological and chemical Chronicles","volume":"19 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76091479","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
