The work aimed to analyze blood pressure control in patients diagnosed with arterial hypertension. Fifty physicians and 1020 patients (under 56 years of age) participated in the study. Regular use of medications was observed in 92% of the patients, and the systolic blood pressure level was 167 mm Hg. More frequent use of renin-angiotensin system blockers compared with diuretics and calcium antagonists was noted, both in monotherapy and in combination therapy. Target BP was achieved in 66% of cases within three months by therapy with amlodipine and retarded indapamide. The majority of patients adhered to the prescribed therapy (97%). The effectiveness of amlodipine and indapamide therapy was in direct correlation with baseline BP values. Significant factors were smoking (lower efficacy), and gender (higher in women). The degree of BP reduction following combined therapy with amlodipine and indapamide was determined to be directly correlated with the beginning BP level. At the same time, female patients and non-smokers see more pronounced dynamics of BP lowering. Pre-treatment is also a crucial element; statins and renin system blockers greatly lower blood pressure when used together.","PeriodicalId":15062,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Biochemical Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70835592","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The fluoroquinolone, Norfloxacin, was converted into the ionic form and combined with the cationic dye, IR780<sup>+</sup>, using an ion-exchange reaction. The resulting ionic combination drug possesses two killing mechanisms in one compound. The antibiotic chemical mechanism along with the photothermal mechanism that was acquired by adding IR780 to the compound led to the development of a combination antibiotic drug. This ionic combination drug consisting of Norfloxacin anion and IR780 cation is easily dispersed in water using sonication waves. The parent compounds and ionic combination drug, dissolved in organic solvent and dispersed in water, were characterized, and the photophysical properties were studied in detail. It was discovered that the aqueous ionic combination drugs exhibited significant changes in absorbance and photoluminescent properties. In aqueous media, the dispersed ionic combination drug exhibited a very broad absorbance with an additional peak around 1000 nm which is advantageous in photothermal. A significant decrease in the quantum yield along with enhanced non-radiative rate constant was observed for the combination drug in the aqueous. The photothermal mechanism is present in both the parent IR780 dye and the ionic combination drug. The ionic combination drug displayed a high light-to-heat conversion efficiency and temperature increase similar to the parent dye. The combination of both killing mechanisms in the ionic combination drug resulted in enhanced antibacterial activity against <i>Escherichia coli</i> as compared to the parent Norfloxacin and IR780-I individually.</p>","PeriodicalId":15062,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Biochemical Technology","volume":"14 3","pages":"50-58"},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10766427/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139097910","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to preserve human health and quality of life, the blood-ocular barrier must operate at its peak. There are several eye illnesses that might be linked to a breach in the blood-ocular barrier's functionality. The blood-ocular barrier's permeability to medications in the levomecitin group was examined in this paper under both healthy and unhealthy circumstances. A total of 40 laboratory rabbits were divided into two groups for this reason, and the experimental group's rabbits underwent artificial induction of keratoconjunctivitis. In the posterior femoral muscle group of rabbits in the control and experimental groups, a 30 mg/kg dose of a 10% chloramphenicol solution diluted in a 0.5% novocaine solution was intramuscularly administered twice, separated by a 12-hour interval. Next, the behavior and health of the rabbits in both groups were observed, along with routine checks on the animals' body temperatures, pulses, and respirations. On several experiment days, the level of chloramphenicol in blood serum and intraocular fluid was examined in order to gauge the permeability of the blood-ocular barrier. Further research was done on the biochemical and hematological characteristics of blood serum.","PeriodicalId":15062,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Biochemical Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70819139","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
