In general, detecting the gait events that mark the transition from one gait sub-phase to another as well as the sequence of sub-phases is essential to evaluate gait abnormalities. However, finding a reliable segmentation for pathological gait has been a challenging task. This manuscript entails a generic approach for the gait segmentation into sub-phases in the CORBYS1 system. A number of distinctive features are extracted from the Hip joints motion data which are able to partition and segment the gait cycles in an efficient way. The degree of deviation (i.e. anomaly) in each sub-phase is then calculated with respect to an optimal gait reference which is used for robot-assisted gait rehabilitation. The proposed gait segmentation method is applicable to gait with many types of pathology since training on the pathology specific templates is not required. Performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated by statistical analysis of results which produced 100% gait segmentation accuracy for healthy subjects and over 99% for pathological subjects.","PeriodicalId":149815,"journal":{"name":"Research in Medical & Engineering Sciences","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132206115","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: In our study, data of 150 asymptomatic patients who came for routine eye examination from July 15 2018 to November 15 2018 were collected at the end of each day for 4 months from the Medical Record Department of the Hospital. The data consisted of Medical Record Department Number of patient, Age, Gender, Complaints of Patients, any ocular and systemic diseases history, Previous Glass prescription(spectacle wearer), its duration, Visual Acuity with PGP, Unaided Visual Acuity, Pinhole Visual Acuity, New Prescription values, Diagnosis and managements. The Microsoft excel sheets of above mentioned informations were formed. Results: 22 were emmetropes. 110 patients out of 150 were found to have different types of refractive errors.26 patients were found to have presbyopia. 12 patients were diagnosed with senile cataract. Non Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy (NPDR), Dry eye, Lagophthalmos, nanophthalmos and Pseudophakia were diagnosed in 1,2,2,1 and 10 patients respectively. The Phacoemulsification surgery was done in 1 patient. Lubricants eyedrops were prescribed in 2 patients 80 patients were prescribed new glasses. 20 patients were advised for same treatment. Conclusion: It is important for each asymptomatic individual to have routine eye examinations. Background There is a trend of having ophthalmic eye examinations only when the individuals perceive some disturbances in their sight. The ways to ophthalmic centres are almost neglected by them until they feel that their weak or decreased vision has started to interfere with their tasks. This trend is more common in developing nations [1]. The quality of life is greatly affected by the visual and ophthalmic conditions. The existence of some silent killer diseases which do not show any symptoms but considerably decrease the vision and in some cases if remain untreated will irreversibly damage the eye resulting in permanent loss of vision. In such circumstances, the comprehensive eye examination can play preventive role in vision loss thereby screening such silent diseases [2,3]. Diagnosis of some diseases at advanced stage will just be an informative confirmation. In such cases, there is no alternative except to accept the conditions. So, routine eye examinations is equally important for both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients [4]. Methodology A Prospective Study was conducted. In our Study, data of 150 patients (300 eyes) from July 15 2018 to November 15 2018 were collected at the end of each day from Medical Record Department. This was the first natural event which caused a wide and long flight ban in the world, the biggest shut down after Second World War. The damage in European countries is estimated as figure as billions of Dollars and in particular, a damage of 10 million Pounds a day was estimated for Britain. Because of the volcanic event and its development, aviation authorities of European countries decided to restrict the use of airspace, progressively as the ash cloud was spreading. From April 15th to May 21st were restricted airspace, airports were closed, flights canceled and passengers repressed, so it became the longest period of inactivity in air traffic after the second world war. International Air Transport Association (IATA) estimated losses of 1.1 billion pounds, affecting 1.2 million passengers per day which accounted for 29% of world aviation. The Airport Operators Association (AOA) estimated losses of 80 million pounds in six days and a half, for a total of 100,000 flights canceled. Volcanic eruptions are different each one, as to which its style determines the chemistry, physical and chemical components, and particle size of volcanic ash. During an eruption, the lava can flow slowly like a thick liquid (Efussive) or may be accompanied by ash and gases (Explosive). Explosive eruptions pose the greatest risk to aviation because they are always accompanied by ash production. Shafil system is in the process of design and integration to mitigate the intake ash into aircraft engine. It generates a negative electric field to ionize gas around, so that the dust particles receive the negative charge then be carried to a surface with an opposite polarity, and eventually be collected for packing. Introduction On 20th March 2010 the Iceland Volcano was erupted and continued for 3 weeks for the first time. Thousands of flights were banned, and millions of people have affected in Europe [1-4]. This was the first natural event which caused a wide and long flight ban in the world, the biggest shut down after Second World War. The damage in European countries is estimated as figure as billions of Dollars and in particular, a damage of 10 million Pounds a day was estimated for Britain. After few days, the new safety rules are announced to overcome the damages: if the ash particles are less than 2 milligram per cubic meter, the aircraft is allowed to fly. Research to avoid these encounters effect was due to three great volcanic eruptions around the world, such as a Galunggung volcano in Java 1982, Rebdout volcano in Anchorage 19891990 and Mount Pinatubo volcano in the Philippines 1991 [5]. Recently the most important encounter with volcanic ash cloud was produced by the Iceland volcano Eyjafjallajökull 2010, which caused interference in air traffic over EU and economic losses. The aim of this research work was to evaluate the impact of the Trivedi Effect® on the physicochemical, and thermal properties of 6-mercaptopurine using the modern analytical technique. 6-Mercaptopurine powder sample was divided into two parts. One part of the sample was considered as a control sample (no Biofield Energy Treatment was provided), whereas the other part was treated with Biofield Energy Treatment remotely by a renowned Biofield Energy Healer, Dahryn Trivedi and termed as a treated sample. The particle size values in the treated 6-mercaptopurine powder sample were significantly decreased by 5.72%(d10), 5.16%(d50), 3.75%(d90), and 4.54%{D(4,3)}; therefore, the specific surface area was increased by 4.76% compared to the control sample. The PXRD peak intensities and crystallite sizes of the treated powder sample were significantly altered ranging from-25% to 14.12% and-35.09% to 71.3%, respectively; whereas the average crystallite size was decreased by 2.77% compared with the control sample. The latent heat of evaporation and latent heat of fusion of the treated sample was significantly altered by 3.05% and-39.48% compared with the control sample. The total weight loss was significantly increased by 9.72%; however, the residue amount was significantly decreased by 79.89% in the treated sample compared with the control sample. The maximum thermal degradation temperature of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd peaks of the treated sample was increased by 1.54%, 0.13%, and 5.56% compared with the control sample. From the results, it was concluded that the biofield energy treatment might have generated a new polymorphic form of 6-mercaptopurine which may offer better solubility, dissolution, absorption, and bioavailability compared with the control sample. The Biofield Energy Treated 6-mercaptopurine would be very useful to design better pharmaceutical formulations that might offer better therapeutic response against acute lymphocytic leukemia, chronic myeloid leukemia, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, and autoimmune diseases.","PeriodicalId":149815,"journal":{"name":"Research in Medical & Engineering Sciences","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126412999","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
