In its Ladakhi version, Gesar Saga has come down through centuries orally, with storytellers reciting the epic orally. The oral versions from Ladakh were among the first to receive academic attention through the works of August Francke at the turn of the century, however most subsequent work has been on the Eastern Tibetan and the Mongolian Version of the Gesar epic. The Ladakhi version of the epic is relatively free from the strong Buddhist influence. The versions of this tradition vary from village to village. The paper examines the influence of the Gesar epic on folklore, cultural, and social life in Ladakh. The paper further analyses the Ladakhi version of the Gesar epic and its relationship with the pre-Buddhist Bon religion of Ladakh. It further examines how the epic tradition has permeated into Ladakh society by examining Ladakhi folk songs and festivals and looks at how the narratives of Gesar epic exhibit in the socio-cultural traditions of Ladakh.","PeriodicalId":149719,"journal":{"name":"The Epic of Geser — the spiritual heritage of the peoples of Central Asia","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125832865","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of the study is to determine the features of the plot and compositional structure of the literary olonkho “Erchimen Bergen” created by S.S. Vasilуev. In the article, based on fundamental works on the study of the Yakut heroic epic I.V. Pukhov, N.V. Emelyanov analyzes the plot of the author's olonkho in comparison with the plots of folk epic legends. As a result of the structural analysis of the Erchimen Bergen olonkho, the compositional features of the plot are identified, representing five conventional parts of the text that correspond to the traditional canon of the development of the plot of the folk epic, and the main differences in the composition of the author’s olonkho are revealed. The author concludes that the plot of the author’s olonkho of the poet is based on the plot of a folk heroic legend, but due to the fact that the olonkho “Erchimen Bergen” is dedicated for children's reading,, the poet specially simplifies the plot.","PeriodicalId":149719,"journal":{"name":"The Epic of Geser — the spiritual heritage of the peoples of Central Asia","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126875710","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The object of the study is a poetic-style unit, distinguished in folklore text by constance and independence. The purpose of the work is to analyze the identity of the structural organization of the text, the similarities of typical places in the epics \"Abai Geser-hubun\" and \"Erensei\", belonging to the same epic tradition and recorded from one storyteller. The uligers of Manshut Imegenov the stability and variability of dominant units are revealed. They are the nucleus, the core element of the narrative. Being an element of a communicative stereotype, formulaic expressions and words refer significant characteristics of the text, specially fixed and structured moments in the semantics of the text. Constant units, having an \"ideoethnic character\", most clearly reflect the local specifics of the epic text.","PeriodicalId":149719,"journal":{"name":"The Epic of Geser — the spiritual heritage of the peoples of Central Asia","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129609486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Horqin area in eastern Inner Mongolia is one of the important centers for the formation and development of Mongolian heroic epics. The Kerqin epics not only have the traditional characteristics of all Mongolian epics, but also have local characteristics. In China, the collection and publication of Korqin's epics began in the 1950s. The earliest recorded and edited epic poem \"The Story of Suppression of Manggusi\" performed by Aozhgrad was published by Inner Mongolia Literature in 1956 Issues 1 and 2. So far, a total of 32 printed copies of 14 \"Korqin Epic\" have been compiled and published. Most of these printed texts were published in the 1980s and have been published multiple times in the same epic. After 1994, the collection and publication of Horqin's epics was almost stagnant. Until the collection and publication of Horqin's epics in the 21st century, there were 3 printed texts. The advent of these achievements has provided abundant basic materials and convenient conditions for the literary and academic circles to understand and study the Horqin epic. However, most of these \"Korqin Epic\" printed editions are literary works for readers to read through the artificial reduction and adaptation of record organizers and publishers.","PeriodicalId":149719,"journal":{"name":"The Epic of Geser — the spiritual heritage of the peoples of Central Asia","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123101842","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
