A prototype of stock and price model using system dynamic was built. It is useful in predicting the economic and non-economic implication of both rice stock and price. In particular implication of paddy productivity, which is heavily dependent on climate, hence randomness, on stock and price of rice were discussed. The interactive approach in building the model benefited the owner of the model as they are closely involved in the process of creation and testing of the model, an approach belief to be useful in the implementation and possibly revising the model in a latter time as new information emerged.","PeriodicalId":148221,"journal":{"name":"2016 11th International Conference on Knowledge, Information and Creativity Support Systems (KICSS)","volume":"282 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131617367","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the previous works suggests that similarity not only depends on the objective aspects (i.e. concept descriptions of the two concepts), but is also influenced by the subjective factors (i.e. judgments of the viewing agent). In this paper, we propose to employ various text similarity measures to compare the textual annotations of primitive concepts as well as primitive roles from the side of estimating human experts' interpretations. A collection of primitive similarity degrees obtained in this way is regarded as an automatically-generated possible doctors' judgments (preference profile) for primitive similarity measures. We perform extensive experiments on the renown clinical ontology SNOMED CT. After generating the primitive concepts similarity measures with various similarity methods, this paper presented interesting findings from the experiments and discuss benefits and usability of our approach.","PeriodicalId":148221,"journal":{"name":"2016 11th International Conference on Knowledge, Information and Creativity Support Systems (KICSS)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128323910","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Project-based learning (PBL) is often adopted to facilitate student-driven learning. In PBL, it is very important for the learners to have successful experiences when participating in team activities. However, every team activity in a PBL class is not always successful because learners with poor performance, caused by factors such as low motivation and weak problem-solving and communication skills, often participate in the class. With this in mind, our goal is to develop a system to support team-based activity within a PBL course using information technology. As the starting point of the research, we investigate how to use a basic team-based activity support system in a PBL course.","PeriodicalId":148221,"journal":{"name":"2016 11th International Conference on Knowledge, Information and Creativity Support Systems (KICSS)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116339235","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we analyzed the accuracy of BLE for measuring distance in order to build the indoor positioning application. The problem of BLE in distance measurement and indoor position are low accuracy that is caused by the fading effect. We discussed about the effect of changing the value of advertising interval to the accuracy of distance measurement by application, between BLE as a Transmitter and a Smartphone with Android OS as a receiver. The result showed that the accuracy of distance measurement will increase if the value of advertising interval is decreased.","PeriodicalId":148221,"journal":{"name":"2016 11th International Conference on Knowledge, Information and Creativity Support Systems (KICSS)","volume":"18 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125923866","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Along with this development, the use of information technology, which is the basis of the information system, should be considered as a very useful tool to survive in the competition in the hospitality industry. Previous studies have widely discussed the role of information systems at the strategic level. Including the assertion of Nicholas Carr that is “IT Doesn't Matter”. This assertion need to be tested by the extent to which the maturity of the use of information systems through its elements could affect the company's strategic performance measured from the five perspective of Kaplan's Business Balanced Scorecard in the hospitality sector in Indonesia. The study was conducted by distributing questionnaires to managers of 3 stars hotels in Jakarta. Data obtained was further analyzed using multiple regression analysis. This study verifies that the maturity of information systems in general have a significant relationship with organizational performance both financial and non-financial. The contribution shows from 30 % to 60 %, contrary to the Carr's assertion of no strategic contribution of IT on the companies.","PeriodicalId":148221,"journal":{"name":"2016 11th International Conference on Knowledge, Information and Creativity Support Systems (KICSS)","volume":"171 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123264173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Previously authors reported on KICSS 2015 that learning and studying may present a challenge when trying to apply students' prior knowledge. This study continues addressing the question of whether or not an internal session comprising open discussion and brainstorming followed by asynchronous commenting and ending with self-reflection might help to assess students' prior knowledge. Empirical research took place in the context of the METIS project1 in two separate phases at the Technische Universitat Dresden, Germany. During the second phase, which is reported here, data was collected again from international students (n=12) completing the Master Programme “Vocational Education and Personal Capacity Building” during the summer semester of 2013. This seminar also dealt with a similar topic as the first, “research methods and analysis of an empirical study,” at the same university. The main change between the experiments was to realize the differences between assessing lower and higher levels of knowledge. For the first experimental group (presented at KICSS 2015), the study found that there are no significant differences between the control and treatment group in terms of cognitive achievement and students' attitudes. However, authors additionally tested recalling two extra higher levels of knowledge, the integration and application of knowledge. Surprisingly, the test found that there was a significant difference between pre- and post-cognitive tests. Finally, students were asked to connect their prior knowledge successfully through the con-ducted discussion panel. In other words, brainstorming and discussion sessions followed by asynchronous commenting and ending with a self-reflection report (portfolio) were applied to explore students' prior knowledge at the level of integration and application of knowledge.","PeriodicalId":148221,"journal":{"name":"2016 11th International Conference on Knowledge, Information and Creativity Support Systems (KICSS)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128677429","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Imbalanced nutrition increases risk of health problems. Balanced nutrition means the difference between nutrition needed and nutrition intake must be as minimum as possible. The condition in Indonesian, many people consume food with high carbohydrate; whereas nutrition consists of protein, carbohydrate, and fat. That nutrition obtains from five foods category, namely: main dish (MP), vegetable side dish (LN), meat (LH), vegetable (SY), and fruit (BH). Therefore, it needs a system to provide a suggestion for balanced nutrition. This research used Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) to obtain optimal nutrition, which contains five dimensions (MP, LH, LN, SY, BH). These dimension and variable are represented as food source, which will be optimized by bees. These bees are divided into employee bee (BN), onlooker bee (SN), and scout bee. BN will produce new food source, where if new food source has a better solution, it will replace the old one. SN performers based on the fitness value of each food source; if the food source has high probability, SN will produce new food source. While scout bee will determine a new food source, if the number of trials for releasing a food source is equal to the value of “limit”. The performance of ABC evaluated using twelve data of men and female. The result shows that ABC achieve 99.90% in giving a recommendation for portion and type of foods a day.","PeriodicalId":148221,"journal":{"name":"2016 11th International Conference on Knowledge, Information and Creativity Support Systems (KICSS)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133438485","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
