Concerning in religion preference system and its relation with consumer’s choicethe research is crucially expected to discover the relationship between religion, and the consumer’s choice ofislamic bank in Bengkulu. The reason why the issues must be studied is from theoritical foundation in whichbelief system like religion, and rationality is a main factor determining the consumer’s choice towards islamicbank in varied-cases (Yusof; Bahari; Adanan: 2014). Hence, there are various facts as an important settingof research—moeslem population in Bengkulu; level of FDR (finance to deposits ration) for many islamicbank in Bengkulu is 182,3% and also NPF level is 3.30%. Based on this setting, the study intentionaly usesthe grounded theory as approach. It directly legitimates two theories as guidance for the research—rationalitychoice theory and shopping preference theory.The research successfully finds a set of thesis that religion’s rules in consumer’s choice of islamic bank can bedescribed shortly in two models—religion as Model of ” and “for Reality. These models emerge in consumer’sbehaviour of how they select the islamic bank in Bengkulu. Empirically, it can be attested from the perception,and definition toward islamic bank as a personal experience. In fact, Islam as a part of religions modifiedas justification for their choice. Qualitative research type is used to collect the data. Observation and interview techniques are used to collect the data. The result shows that the traditional religious leaders are very influential in the Tandikek community. They have transformative and communicative approaches which are very easily understood by the communities. In addition, religious elites are also able to become a reference figure in acting and behaving. The government has issued policies to improve the quality of lecturers as an effort to improve the quality of education through the improvement of welfare. However, conditions in the field show that some lecturers who have received the professional allowance have not shown any significant performance improvement. Some lecturers who have very good competence sometimes not followed by high performance, this is reflected from the results of the lecturer's performance.The purpose of this research are: (1) to know the level of competence and performance of lecturers of PAI in Padang city (2) to analyze efforts to improve the performance of PAI lecturers in Padang city (3) to find the level of competence influence on PAI lecturer performance in Padang city.This research is a quantitative type with survey method and correlational approach. The population is PAI lecturers at state universities in the city of Padang totaling 30 people. The sampling technique is total sampling. Data collection techniques used were the dissemination of questionnaires, documentation and literature study. While the data analysis technique used is the normality test Kolmogorof Smirnov method. Test validity using Product Moment Pearson correlation formula. Test reliability using Alpha Cronbach and processing analysis using SPSS version 15.The research findings are: (1) the actual condition of PAI lecturer competence in public universities in Padang city is generally quite good (TCR = 3,93 / 5,00 or = 76,98%) whereas actual condition of teaching performance of lecturer PAI lecturers at state universities in Padang city were in good condition (TCR = 3.81 / 5.00 or = 69.64 %). (2) The efforts to improve the performance of PAI lecturers according to the authors include: Planning the development of lecturer's performance, organizing lecturer performance assessment, conducting lecturer performance assessment with sustainability, supervising the performance of lecturers as well as following up the results of lecturer performance assessment. (3) there is a significant positive correlation between lecturer competence and lecturer performance of 22,3 %, meaning competence contribute to lecturer performance.Suggested to the lecturers of PAI to improve the competence to produce performance as expected. For this reason, it is necessary to conduct research on the programs that are run based on the need analysis for training foreign languages. Need analysis is the process of finding gaps between what people know, do, or feel and what they have to know, do, or feel in order to be able to do competently. Therefore, needs analysis is planned and carried out to obtain a number of data or information about conditions and needs. Needs analysis helps organizations and individuals to find solutions. Needs analysis is needed before implementing the program to see gaps or differences between ideal and optimal conditions. The results of the needs analysis inspire the design of the type of program, the objectives and indicators of success, the structure of the program, the material, the evaluation and monitoring system, and the criteria for the participants and relevant resource persons. Through this research, Present Situation Analysis, Target Situation Analysis and Expected Improvements were carried out. This was a descriptive research type. There were 22 students at class VIII of Junior High School 2 Sintoga as respondents of the research. Writing tests on descriptive and recount texts were used to collect the data. The data were classified into excellent, good, fair, poor, and very poor by using Jacob’ theory and calculated the data on percentage by using formula Sudijono. It was found that the students got fair skill for both mean score of students based on component writing descriptive and recount texts (57.18 and 58.1). For the each component of genres, they got lower score on content, organization of text, vocabulary, and language use. On descriptive text, there were 16 students’ mastery on generic structure for beginning stage and 8 students for developing stage. Meanwhile, for generic structure of recount text 10 students were mastery on generic structure for beginning stage, 11 students for developing stage, and 1 student for consolidating stage. Most of students made the mistakes in orientation and events. Some students who did not give the information of the place (where), time (where), and the reason (why) clearly in the orientation. In the events, some students wrote their experience unchronologicaly. It is concluded that the students’ mastery on writing descriptive and recount texts are fair category. Sejauh yang dapat ditelusuri, sebagai bentuk awalnya adalah surau yang dirintis oleh Syekh Burhanuddin Ulakan pada akhir abad 17 di Ulakan Pariaman. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan (library research) dengan metode kualitatif karena terdapatnya kepentingan terhadap penafsiran dan mencari makna dari teks-teks tertulis. Di kalangan tokoh-tokoh kaum tua pembaruan pendidikan dilakukan dengan mendirikan madrasah sebagai pengganti surau dan mendirikan organisasi seperti Ittihad Ulama Sumatera di Bukittinggi tahun 1921 yang dipimpin oleh Syaikh Sa’ad Mungka, Persatuan Madrasah-madrasah Tarbiyah di Bukittinggi tahun 1928 yang kemudian dirobah menjadi Persatuan Tarbiyah Islamiyah di Bukittinggi pada tahun 1931 yang ketuanya adalah Sultha’in atau sulthani Dt Rajo Dubalang. In this case researchers focuses on reinforcement. One of the class managements’ indicator is teacher gives reinforcement and feedback to students’ responses and students’ achievement as long as Learning Process. The study aims to identify teachers’ reinforcement in English Learning Process at Senior High School 1 Padang. A quantitative research was used where the data taken from questionnaire. It was focused on positive and negative reinforcement that used in English Learning Process and any significant correlation of teacher’ reinforcement and students’ achievement. The data was analyzed by using Pearson correlation. Based on the statement above, it can be concluded that all of the positive and negative reinforcement used by English teacher at Senior High School 1 Padang and the mostly used is positive reinforcement. The finding is there is significance correlation of teachers’ reinforcement and students’ achievement in English Learning Process. Karakter kinerja menjadi modal dasar dalam mencapai kesuksesan karier. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dan menggunakan instrumen karakter kinerja mahasiswa yang mengukur tiga aspek yaitu aspek pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas karakter kinerja mahasiswa berada dalam kategori berkualitas dengan rata-rata 61,17%. Penelitian ini berangkat dari fenomena sosial masyarakatkota Padang yang menjadi bagian dari masyarakat Sumatera Barat (Minangkabau) yang berfalsafah adatbasandi syara`, syara` basandi kitabullah. Disamping itu ungkapan kok barek samo dipikua, ringan samodijinjiang menggambarkan bahwa masyarakat Minagkabau termasuk Padang memiliki karakter yang sejalandengan agama Islam dan memiliki modal sosial yang cukup tinggi sebagai modal pembangunan di berbagaisektor. Kondisi ini perlu dipertahankan karena ada kecenderungan mulai menipis dan tinggal selogan saja. Olehkarena itu penelitian mempertanyakan dan menjawab bagaimana proses penyajian tema yang diangkat olehmubaligh yang berkaitan dengan modal sosial. Lebih dari itu pertanyaan penelitian ini diarhkan kepada tematema,metode dan pedekatan sertaalasan paramubaligh menyajikan tema tablighnya. Untukmenemukandanmenjawab pertanyaanpenelitian tersebut digunakan metode kualitatif pendekatan deskriptif. Kemudianteoridan konsep yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teori komunikasi—effek komunikasi, teoripengembanganmasyarakatIslamdan konsep-konsep dakwah itu sendiri. Hasilpenelitian ini menemukanbahwasecaraumum tema yang diangkat oleh paramubaligh meliputi hidup tolong-menolong, kerjasamadanmembiasakan hidup berbagi. Metodedan pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penyajian pesan lebihdidominasioleh metode dialogis, monologis dan pratiklangsung.
