The principal goal of the study is the identification of necessary operational performance of MFIs. The determinants influencing MFIs' performance were identified using descriptive, correlational, and casual-comparative study methodologies. The study's conclusions demonstrated a strong correlation between MFIs performance and information technology, loan lending processes, and regulatory environment. The regulatory Framework seems to be an important factor in Nepal's microfinance performance as well. The study also discovered that MFIs performance is significantly influenced by the loan lending system, regulatory environment, and information technology. The study discovered that the loan lending system, regulatory framework, information technology, loan lending system, employee motivation, management system, effective risk management, and regulatory framework have a positive link with the performance of MFIs and significantly affect it. Additionally, it shows that the operational effectiveness of MFIs in Nepal has no correlation with employee motivation, management system, and effective risk management. The study's findings will be helpful to all parties involved with MFIs, including investors, regulators, legislators, and BFIs. According to the outcome, operational efficiency significantly affects the viability and continuation of service of Nepalese MFIs.","PeriodicalId":146163,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Nepalese Business Studies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115541303","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The choices of an individual engaging in the financial market have a crucial part in setting the market trend, which subsequently affects the economy. This research seeks to examine the variables impacting the investment choices of people functioning in financial and non-financial sectors. The research employs a social survey design, based on 280 samples obtained by a structured questionnaire employing a convenience sampling approach. The study was restricted to the Pokhara metropolitan city of Nepal. Descriptive Statistics, Chi-square test, t-test, ANOVAs, Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling were utilized to fulfill the study goals. The study demonstrates that there is no substantial difference between personnel working in the financial and non-finance industries on herding, market, heuristic and demographic component. However, people working in the financial industry examine more economic aspects and the total investment performance is greater for employees working in the financial sector. Further, the research reveals that self-confidence, market information, the recommendation of professionals, minimization through portfolio diversification and high-income level increases in interest in investment were the significant influential factors affecting investment decisions of an employee working in financial and non-financial institutions. The CFA establishes a significant link between observable variables and their fundamental constructs. The path analysis demonstrates that Market, Herding, Knowledge and Economic factors has a favorable influence on investment choices. The regulatory authority and related institutions should equip investors in respect of both economic and behavioral elements to make a smart investment choice.","PeriodicalId":146163,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Nepalese Business Studies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123957609","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goal of this study is to look at how public infrastructure expenditure affects economic growth in East Africa. Countries:The Vector Auto Regressive Analysis. The study employed a time series data research approach using secondary data. The population was applied to the financial records from 1984/85 to 2015/16. (Annual Data). The study's sample size was 32 yearly observations. The study's research site was purposefully chosen in Uganda. The data was gathered from a variety of trustworthy sources, including the World Bank. The Johansen co integration test shows a long-run relationship between public investment in infrastructure, communication, and electricity and the rate of economic growth. Simultaneously, the Granger-Causality test revealed indirect causality between economic development rate and all components of public spending used, with a P- Value of 0.04; and the Vector Auto Regressive (VAR) consequences revealed that public spending on infrastructure, communication, and energy had a direct effect on economic development rate. According to the study, increased investment on major infrastructure such as water facilities, airports, highways, power, trains, and communication adds considerably to the rate of economic development by boosting the efficiency of the public and private sectors.","PeriodicalId":146163,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Nepalese Business Studies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123255466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study follows quantitative approach and exploratory and descriptive research designs. Survey was conducted during March through May, 2021 obtaining 505 usable responses. Factor analysis was performed to explore the influential factors. The factor “Accounting and stock market information” was revealed to be of highest influence in decision making behavior of individual stock investors. The effect of “Public and economic information” was found to be significantly different between male and female investors; surprisingly not among different age groups. “Accounting and stock market information” was found to be significantly different among investors with various educational qualifications. Classical rational criteria such as expected dividends, expected corporate earnings, dividends paid and condition of financial statements were found to be most influential variables. While most respondents seemed to be unaware of the consequences of the contemporary issues like environmental record, increase of firm’s involvement in solving community problems and perceived ethics of firm, the need for relevant awareness and educational campaigns regarding the importance of social, ethical, environmental value of investments seems alarming.","PeriodicalId":146163,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Nepalese Business Studies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123465659","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper intends to assess the VAT performance in terms of revenue collection over the past two decades of its implementation. An econometric modeling and descriptive analysis methods have been applied to analyze secondary time series data extracted from Economic Survey 2021. The revenue growth model is applied to calculate the ratio of change in VAT revenue in the current year over the total VAT revenue of the previous year. The data show that VAT collection has been consistently increasing and the collection gap has been decreasing over the years. The major contributing factors are burgeoning import, soaring private consumption, and newly introduced VAT withholding system.","PeriodicalId":146163,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Nepalese Business Studies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125068236","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study has used descriptive research design and judgmental and quota sampling with an equal 150 samples of the rural and urban areas including 50 samples of each caste. A set of close-ended questionnaires was used to collect data from primary sources. The collected data were analyzed with the help of statistical tools like frequencies, weighted mean, and percentage using MS-Word, MS-Excel, and SPSS. The Bishwokarma caste has good financial status in the urban area followed by Nepali and Pariyar. However, in a rural area, the Nepali caste has a better financial position followed by Pariyar and Bishwokarma. The study results indicate people living in the urban areas have a stronger financial position with an overall mean score of 3.02 compared to people living in the rural areas with an overall mean score of 2.85. The concerned government bodies need to give special care to uplift the financial status of the Pariyar people in the urban region and the Bishwokarma people in the rural region. Thus, this study conveys a comprehensive picture of the financial status of rural and urban Dalits of Kaski District which could be the baseline data set for future study and primary data sources for local stakeholders.","PeriodicalId":146163,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Nepalese Business Studies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129282278","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
