The study was conducted inthree phases: determining the number of international travel agencies using social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok); analyzing the level of engagement of followers using the PGRS model (Presence, Generation, Response, and Suggestion); and verifying the correlation between the number of publications and the level of engagement. A quantitative approach with a descriptive and correlational scope was applied, using the documentary technique through a verification form applied to the social networks of the agencies during a period of two months (from March to May 2024). The study found that 6% of all international travel agencies simultaneously use the four mentioned social networks. The study was conducted in three phases: determining heritage assets according to categories and parishes, analyzing perceptions based on these heritage assets, and verifying the correlation between visitors' opinions and their origins. A mixed-method approach with descriptive and correlational scope was applied, utilizing documentary techniques and cross-sectional surveys. The findings show a positive evaluation across all parameters, with similar assessments among the three studied population groups: residents, national tourists, and foreign tourists. La investigación fue exploratoria, descriptiva y de enfoque cualitativo, mediante un análisis integral de la localidad para identificar la potencialidad turística de las comunidades rurales en estudio. Se formuló un proceso metodológico que constó de dos fases: en la primera fase se efectuó el análisis integral del territorio dando como resultado la identificación de comunidades con mayor potencialidad turística rural obtenida a través de herramientas como, revisión bibliográfica y trabajo de campo, matriz de potencialidades, matriz FODA; en la segunda fase se diseñó el modelo de gestión basado en el turismo rural comunitario, siendo necesario definir la verificación de indicadores, acciones y medios de confirmación para ser validadas a través del método de expertos. Los objetivos específicos fueron establecer la situación actual de los negocios, la elaboración de la propuesta de sostenibilidad y la evaluación de transmisión del conocimiento en el proceso de capacitación. Se aplicó la investigación mixta, se usó metodologías como el estudio de mercado, la generación de estrategias para alcanzar las metas planteadas y la ejecución de la estrategia de capacitación. En la empresa pública se encuentran 50 negocios, 64% son locales de artesanías y el 36% de alimentos y bebidas, y minimarket. Se creó la estrategia de sostenibilidad en base de siete objetivos de desarrollo de la Agenda 2030, elaborando ocho indicadores de sostenibilidad, en concordancia con los cursos, talleres, workshops, master class planteados, finalmente ejecutó la primera fase del proceso de capacitación. The research note examines the various aspects of safety measures, including health protocols, physical distancing, sanitation practices, employee training, and PPEs. Additionally, the paper explores the challenges faced by the industry in implementing these measures and discusses potential strategies for enhancing safety and mitigating risks. Indeed, statistical sampling was applied to determine the size of the population to be surveyed. The purpose of this work was to contribute to the knowledge about the perception of development that the population of rural communities has, since in order to execute any project that contributes to local development, it is necessary to have relevant and reliable information that allows to have new perspectives so that local actors (autonomous and decentralized governments) make effective decisionsin the area of influence of the Manabí Polytechnic. For this, the necessary segmentation parameters were made to collect information on hotel capacity, number of PAX per event, available rooms, connectivity problems, etc. The results show that Manta is a destination that meets the necessary conditions to be a MICE destination and develop this segment. However, insecurity can negatively affect the socio-economic development of the tourism sector. This article analyzes the economic perspective of tourism in the face of insecurity in the Esmeraldas canton, Esmeraldas province, Ecuador. To achieve this objective, a study was carried out with a sample of tourists who visited the region, and theimpact of insecurity on the perception and behavior of tourists was analyzed. An extensive literature review and analysis of secondary data was carried out to assess the impact of insecurity on local tourism. It was concluded that insecurity negatively affects tourism in the region, producing significant economic losses.
