In freshwater biodiversity hotspots like the Western Ghats, no information is available on activates and ecological role of adult aquatic insect in the riparian zone of streams. Most adult aquatic insects that emerge from streams live briefly in the nearby riparian zone. Adult activities, such as mating dispersal and feeding influence their distribution in the terrestrial habitat. An observation at Kurangani streams, Western Ghats, India has shown that both numbers and biomass of adult aquatic insects are greatest in the near stream vegetation; however, adult insects can be relatively common 1 to 10 feet from the stream. Why because, adult aquatic insects are abundant and they are primary food resource for many riparian insectivores. The role of adult aquatic insects in the riparian zone must be better understood for riparian and aquatic food chain to be complete.","PeriodicalId":14487,"journal":{"name":"IRA-International Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"26 1","pages":"460-470"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82218122","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The needs of water can't be fulfill only through supply. In present, 48.11% of water-needs are depends on groundwater. Due to pressure on groundwater is decreasing rapidly. In 1960 water was available on average depth of 32.80 ft, but now their availability is doubtful also at the average depth of 360 ft. High capacity machinery are being used by the rich people for water, while hand-pumps and wells are drying up which is used by the common people. This issue also proved that:- (1) Groundwater budget is not satisfactory; because water recharge and consumption ratio is so differs, and (2) Citizens are spending lots of money and working hard for avail water. Therefore it is observed that, environment and land structure is decreasing through downfall of water table. Now it’s time to take an effective action to saving water, if not we are responsible to a big mistake possibly. The presented research paper is try to show the problems, which are arise to excess use of groundwater from 1960 to 2015.","PeriodicalId":14487,"journal":{"name":"IRA-International Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"1 1","pages":"439-453"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82832158","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of the study is to carry out a scientific research review and analysis related to healthy cognitive aging brain and professional social work. This study reviewed major trends in the health care in cognitive aging environment which impacts on social work education, practice, and research including a shift from in-patient to community care setting and increasing diversity of the older adult population. A systematic review was conducted to determine the effectiveness of promoting healthy cognitive aging that target mild-cognitive impairment and screening among older-adults. In this scientific literature review, quantitative and qualitative outcome studies between 1989 and 2016 were reviewed. The researcher found that educational and social activity group interventions that can ease social isolation and loneliness among older adults. However, the effectiveness of home visiting remains unclear. The study also was completed to address a growing area of cognitive aging brain concern and implication for health care providers and professionals. Overall research findings support positive effects of social and family support, early mild-cognitive screening, quality of social network, healthy choice eating, and physical and mental activity in improving healthy mild-cognitive aging.","PeriodicalId":14487,"journal":{"name":"IRA-International Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"120 1","pages":"431-438"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80616625","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Application of graded levels of nitrogen and phosphorus progressively improved growth and yield attributes but in a decreasing order. There was a progressive increase in grain yield of wheat with each increment from 60 to 120 kg N ha-1 from the crop fertilized being maximum from 120 kg P ha-1. Similarly, application of 80 kg/ha resulted higher grain yield than the yield obtained in control. Lowest plant height, number of effective tillers per plant, panicle length, dry matter per plant, number of grains per panicle, weight of grains per panicle, grain yield, straw yield and biological yield was observed in 0 and 50 per cent nitrogen and phosphours. Various crop traits such as number of fertile tillers, 1000-grain weight and number of grains per spike were significantly influenced by nitrogen and phosphorus application. Similarly, fertilization with at 120 kg N ha-1 and 80 kg P ha-1 maximally improved all these traits in both the years.","PeriodicalId":14487,"journal":{"name":"IRA-International Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"8 1","pages":"420-424"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83779559","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Over the last decade, the escalating costs associated with workplace stress indicate an international trend among industrialized nations.  Stress is considered as one of the root causes for many psychological disorders.  Anxiety is one of the common disorders that can rise due to negative stress. Consulting health professionals to overcome mental health problem is time-consuming, expensive, and may affect the privacy for many people. To overcome these limitations, we are presenting a model for a self-help mobile app program that can be a powerful, cost–effective, personalized, and convenient tool to overcome mild to moderate stress and anxiety.  Mindfulness Meditation is a scientifically proven and standardized technique for many mental health problems. Many professionals have developed Mindfulness-based mobile applications. However, they do not address the core root causes of the mental health problem as the conventional psychological therapy does. Therefore, the proposed self-help mobile app merges mainstream psychological process and mindfulness in reducing minor to moderate stress, and anxiety.","PeriodicalId":14487,"journal":{"name":"IRA-International Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"4 1","pages":"394-406"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89659738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Major pollution resulted primarily from increases in the salinity of ground water. The post- tsunami water quality posed problems to general health and contributed significantly to agricultural and environmental degradation in the same districts. The present study focus on analysis of underground water quality parameter for irrigation purpose in coastal area. Totally, 105 water samples were collected from different locations. GPS technique is used to identify the coastal area and collected the samples. Physiochemical parameters such as pH, electrical conductivity(EC), total dissolved solids(TDS), carbonate, bicarbonate, chloride, calcium, magnesium, sulfate, sodium, potassium of all collected samples were analyzed  to determine the contamination. The sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) and residual sodium carbonate (RSC) levels were also calculated using standard equations. The results showed the significant variations in water quality in the study area, which helped analysis suitable to irrigation purpose in future.","PeriodicalId":14487,"journal":{"name":"IRA-International Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"14 1","pages":"379-393"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78875812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
