A scaled model of the rotors was elaborated by accurate design according to the actual shape and size of the rotors. Motion compensation is approached in two steps: the range alignment and initial phase compensation. The method of cross-correlation alignment combined with peak value alignment is proposed in range alignment and proved to be effective. A dominant scatterer algorithm is used in phase compensation. A PGA autofocus algorithm is tested in ISAR imaging. It is very difficult for the classical analog quadrature detector to satisfy the requirement of a high performance signal processing technique. The solution of this problem is to use the direct sampling of a low IF signal and generate quadrature samples by a digital filter. The performance of a quadrature IF sampling system based on a digital product detector is analyzed. The scheme is designed and the circuit is implemented by using the INMOS A100. The experimental results are tested. Several important problems about the realization are discussed and analyzed. We define a model of the received signal in the presence of the angular motions and we calculate the impulse response of the imaging system. From this preliminary analysis we find that the ISAR system behaves as a spatially variant linear filter. This effect produces a blurring of the reconstructed image. It takes the greatest value of OS and TM local estimations as a global noise power estimation, and it also uses the automatic censoring technique proposed by He You (1994). Under the Swerling II assumption, the analytic expressions of P/sub fa/, P/sub d/ and ADT of OSTMGO are derived.
