An influence of this uncertainty caused by navigation or geodetic errors of radar position determination on object position location accuracy has been examined for short and long range radar systems. Timmoneri","doi":"10.1109/ICR.1996.574610","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ICR.1996.574610","url":null,"abstract":"This paper describes methodologies for the on-line calculation of the weights to be used in the linear combination of the received radar data by a set of N antennas and M pulse repetition intervals (PRIs) for the derivation of the adapted space-time filter output. The numerically robust and computationally efficient QR-decomposition is used to derive the so called MVDR (minimum variance distortionless response) and lattice algorithms. Both algorithms are represented as a systolic computational flow graph. The MVDR is able to produce more than one adapted beam focused along different DOAs and Doppler frequencies in the radar surveillance volume. The lattice algorithm offers a computational saving; in fact its computational burden is O(N/sup 2/M) in lieu of O(N/sup 2/M/sup 2/). A comprehensive analysis of the numerical robustness of the algorithms is presented when the CORDIC-algorithm is used to compute the QR decomposition (QRD). An unknown signal is classified by the energy of the projection onto each target subspace. In this paper emphasis is put upon the computation of the RCS of the turbulent plasma cylinder. The cylinder is circular in shape and its radius may be different at different axial stations. The distributions of the electrical properties in the cylinder are assumed to be nonuniform both radially and axially. The theoretical model, called the distorted Born approximation, is discussed. It takes into account the effects on the propagation of the EM wave of not only random scattering, depolarization but also the mean (nonrandom) plasma. The computation is carried out for two plasma cylinders in which the electrical properties distribution are taken directly from other computations concerning the rocket plume. Since the clutter signal has the same complex envelope value located in a skew line of 2-D plane, the skew-canceling processing can completely cancel the clutter with the value of the corresponding canceling point on this skew line. Two methods based on this idea are introduced. Target dynamic parameters are regarded as a kind of target kinematic attribute. A probability assignment method is explained in two cases both of process noise and measurement noise being Gaussis statistics and of being non-Gaussis statistics. A multisensor multiple-attribute data association method is presented based on Dempster and Shafer (D-S) evidence theory, and this approach is illustrated by simulations involving multisensor multiple targets in a dense clutter environment.
