There exist many colors in nature that are similar to skin color, such as sand, sand beach, soil, stone, cement road, wood, and so on. The things mentioned above are similar to skin color and create many difficulties in detecting human face color. The problem hasn't been solved completely. In this paper we present a circular fitting of distribution of Cg-Cb color space and a parallelogram fitting of distribution of Cg-Cr color space to detect skin color. The experimental results show that even though the idea behind our method is simple, our method is fast, and can also preserve the skin color better than previous methods.","PeriodicalId":143959,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124458881","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As compared with the original fractional tap-length LMS (FT-LMS) algorithm, the proposed algorithm can obtain both a fast convergence rate and a small steady-state error of the tap-length. Algorithm analysis is given which also provides a guideline for choosing the parameter of the proposed algorithm. Simulations are performed under low noise and high noise conditions with time varying impulse responses. All simulation results show the advantages of the proposed algorithm as compared with the FT-LMS algorithm, and confirm the algorithm analysis.","PeriodicalId":143959,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122555453","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It presents a new color image representation algorithm based on NAM and integer wavelets through the method of binary-bit plane decomposition of color images. The color image is divided into a grey image with r, g, b components. In this paper, an embedding strategy and examining the digital watermarking algorithm based on wavelet transformation is proposed. Digital watermarking is embedded into the middle frequency subband of the original image in the r, g, b domain. Experiments show that the method is good at representing color images and experiments indicate that the algorithm operation is simple, storage space is small, effective resistance to different types of attack, as well with a strong theoretical approach and applicability.","PeriodicalId":143959,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127601018","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Visual information is introduced as the new feature which reflects high-level semantic concept objectively. First, the visual saliency model for image retrieval is established. The saliency features of intensity, color and texture are calculated. Second, integrated global saliency map is synthesized and its statistic histogram is used as a new feature in image retrieval. Finally, the similarity of color images is computed by combining the color feature and the histogram of integrated saliency map. Results of experiments show that our approach improves retrieval precision and recall when compared with the classical color feature approach.","PeriodicalId":143959,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130658880","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper describes the adaptive detection of an unknown signal in a colored noise background. In the proposed technology, the ability for the self-adaptive neural network fuzzy inference system (ANFIS ) approaching the nonlinear function is used. First, the nonlinear dynamic characteristic of colored noise is modeled by ANFIS and approaches the colored noise by ANFIS. Then, colored noise is cancelled from a measured signal and the useful signal is gotten. Simulation experimental results show that a useful signal can be obtained accurately from the noise background, which is similar to the measured signal.","PeriodicalId":143959,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117239970","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the cross entropy theory is utilized to evaluate the jamming effect on ISAR. We investigated the cross entropy and presented the concept of symmetry cross entropy (SCE) to compensate for its shortage, and then theoretically proved that it was a distance measure; thereby, a new evaluation model was found that used SCE as an evaluation index. In the end, two typical noise blanket jamming modes, RF noise jamming and FM noise jamming, are employed in computer simulation of interference with ISAR, and the SCE was used to quantitatively evaluate jamming effect. The key of edge detection is the choice of threshold; the choice of threshold directly determines the results of edge detection. How to automatically determine an optimal threshold is one of difficult points of edge detection. In this paper, Sobel edge detection operator and its improved algorithm are first discussed in term of optimal thresholding. Then based on Genetic Algorithms and improved Sobel operator, a new automatic threshold algorithm for images processing is proposed. Finally, the edge detection experiments of two real images are conducted by means of two algorithms. The comparative experiment results show that the new algorithm of automatic threshold is very effective.
