We assume that each pixel in the same region should have a similar relationship with its neighborhood. On the basis of this assumption, we divide the range of C into several sub-ranges. Those pixels whose Cs belong to the same sub-range would be segmented to the same region. Furthermore, in order to process those pictures with too much detailed information which could affect the result of segmentation, we present an information-lessening method to reduce unnecessary details. Experimental results have demonstrated that the novel segmentation approach can work effectively.","PeriodicalId":143959,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130188084","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The modified UVTRAN can be utilized to calculate atmospheric transmission with both high accuracy and super spectral resolution. It can replace FASCOD3 model because the current FASCOD3 for micro-computer can not be used in the ultraviolet spectrum. As an example, atmospheric transmissions and return signals are calculated by the modified UVTRAN for the 6 laser wavelengths at visible and ultraviolet spectrum. The results show that the laser wavelength at medium ultraviolet, e.g. 308nm XeCl Excimer laser, is suitable for working at short distance in the troposphere. The ultraviolet detector with very high sensitivity is required if a laser is chosen to work in deep ultraviolet.","PeriodicalId":143959,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131361653","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The medical image segmentation method is based on the combination of traditional Level Set method and B-Spline models. The new method only needs a few control points to achieve the effect of smoothing curves with drastic changes. Compared with the traditional level set function, this method has many advantages, such as no re-initializing to signed distance function, a higher curve smoothness and simple evolution and so on. Experimental results show that the algorithm can obtain segmentation results of medical image fast and accurately, and the method is reproducible and robust in image processing.","PeriodicalId":143959,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"637 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131909939","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First a set of feature points on the 3D general head model, including frontal contour and profile contour are selected; then their correspondences are found in the photo images. Based on these correspondence pairs, RBFN is adopted to deform the mesh of general head model to fit the human head. After that a panorama image construction method is used to generate a seamless texture by linearly blending images around the frontal head contour region. Lastly, this seamless texture is mapped to the head mesh to get a specific 3D head model.","PeriodicalId":143959,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130855527","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This method divides binary text images into different DCT classes. Equivalent classes are further divided into different DCT subclasses according to each pixel's degree and texture changes between blocks. Through properties' combination, the embedment block and location, which are fit for watermarking, are screened out. At last, different binary text images are chosen for emulation experiment.","PeriodicalId":143959,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115394107","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In light of differences in optical flow fields generated by movements of two-dimensional planes and three-dimensional objects, we proposed a new liveness detection method for face recognition. Under the assumption that the test region is a two-dimensional plane, we can obtain a reference field from the actual optical flow field data. Then the degree of differences between the two fields can be used to distinguish between a three-dimensional face and a two-dimensional photograph. Empirical study shows that the proposed approach is both feasible and effective.","PeriodicalId":143959,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131511174","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cross color histogram, annular color histogram, and angular color histogram are respectively combined with HSV color space to accord with human's visual uniformity. In HSV color space, H, S, V three components carry on unequal interval quantization to improve retrieval precision and efficiency, and then different weight values are given and adjusted to different color channel. Stone images are sorted according to their similarity in retrieval results.
