However, the relationship with input data and CNN model could be another important point. This paper defines the image complexity to enhance model's accuracy. After analyzing the data set, some criteria of the image complexity are defined according to the image grayscale entropy and the two-dimensional entropy for image Captioning. In this paper, a new model is setup to compare with the other model. Although the result is better than the other model by a revised bilingual evaluation understudy (R-BLEU) evaluation index which is a new calculation formula to evaluate image captioning performance.","PeriodicalId":143430,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Symposium on Computer, Consumer and Control (IS3C)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125937785","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because the local dense fog often traps tourists in it, the main research purpose of this paper is to solve the problem of dense fog detection. Because the edge characteristics of fog images will disappear with the increase of fog concentration, analysis The proportion of the image that the edge occupies is used as the basis for fog concentration. In addition, the characteristic that the chroma of the image decreases as the fog concentration increases is used to convert the image to histogram, and the fog concentration is determined by analyzing the histogram of the image. In order to be more in line with the local fog in the Toshe Basin, the fog film data collection used in this paper is all taken on-site. The two fog concentration methods proposed in this paper are not only effective for analyzing the local area of the Toshe Basin. In addition to the fog concentration, it can also be used in places where various fogs are often generated after the threshold is adjusted.","PeriodicalId":143430,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Symposium on Computer, Consumer and Control (IS3C)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125487463","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Readmissions may result in an increased cost of a healthcare organization. Design of a model for predicting readmission would benefit on solving the above issues. This study aims to develop a clinical decision support system (CDSS) for predicting readmission of the patient with ischemic stroke (IS) after discharge. The IGS method, which integrates genetic algorithm (GA) and support vector machine (SVM), accompanied with three objective functions, was adopted to develop the CDSS. The data, retrieved from the National Health Insurance Research Database (NHIRD), including 4351 patients (462 with readmission and 3889 without readmission) diagnosed with IS (ICD-9-CM Code 433–435), aged 20 years old and older, treated within 30 days of hospital admission and then discharged to outpatient treatment between Jan. 2007 and Dec. 2009, were used for designing the predictive models. The statistical analysis of demographics (gender and age) and other candidate variables (28) between patients with and without readmission is presented. Twelve of these 30 variables are significantly different (p < 0.05). CDSS models designed using three objective functions achieved predictive performances of accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and area under ROC curve (AUC) equaling 65.9-66.77%, 58.22-66.66%, 66.88-73.59%, and 0.6773-0.7183, respectively. Future work will focus on improving the predictive performance by including more effective risk factors and comorbidities, as well as integrating GA with more effective AI methods such as deep neural network to increase the predictive performance.","PeriodicalId":143430,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Symposium on Computer, Consumer and Control (IS3C)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116113897","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By connecting many wind farms via a meshed HVDC, the total variation of wind power output would be reduced due to the increase in geographical distribution of wind farms. A meshed HVDC transmission also forms a future cross-border system where a DC network connects many AC grids and wind farms. In such a structure, the power reserve can be exchanged between all AC grids. In the power system with a high penetration of wind power, it is considered as a good method to strengthen the frequency security, and reduce the reserve amount. Several power-sharing methods have been proposed for meshed HVDC networks. Each strategy has its own advantages and disadvantages. This paper aims to investigate the feasible control strategies that allow power sharing among terminals in a meshed HVDC. A simulation model with a six-terminal meshed HVDC system is established by PSCAD/EMTDC software. By performing various operating scenarios, the comparative results demonstrate the features of each control method on power-sharing to strengthen AC grids.","PeriodicalId":143430,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Symposium on Computer, Consumer and Control (IS3C)","volume":"110 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130714055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, OFDM is the standard of new generation wireless communication systems. However, the high Peak-to-Average Power Ratio(PAPR) can influence the system performance through significantly degrading its signal quality in the nonlinear channel. Researchers propose several PAPR reduction algorithms, such as Clipping, Partial Transmit Sequences (PTS), selective mapping (SLM). In this paper we propose a novel turbo scheme combining PTS with adaptive tone reservation (TR) to reduce PAPR in OFDM systems. Conducted simulations show that the performance of PAPR with TR-enhanced Turbo PTS are superior to pervious works.","PeriodicalId":143430,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Symposium on Computer, Consumer and Control (IS3C)","volume":"20 79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130564512","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The interconnect network is the key of the performance while hundreds to thousands of cores are connected. Mesh and torus topologies are often used but they become lower efficient in many cores in the processor. We propose a novel on-chip network named Equality NoC. They are from the Equality topology. We use ten links to build a low-radix network topology to compare with 5D torus topology. The system is a 32,768-core model and the simulations were performed by BookSim 2.0 package. The model is three-time larger than the art-of-date manufacturing technology of GPU by 10,790 cores. Except similar performance under asymmetric traffic, and higher throughput by 5D torus under bitcomp traffic, Equality NoC performs better under eight traffics including uniform and transpose traffics. Equality NoC perform with lower latency in nine traffics except asymmetric by zero-load latency. For this research, we propose Equality NoC as a novel on-chip network topology with better scalability, flexibility, and energy-saving than 5D torus topology.","PeriodicalId":143430,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Symposium on Computer, Consumer and Control (IS3C)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133016453","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose is to extend movement tracking in VR from 3 Degrees of Freedom (DOF) of rotation to 6DOF of position plus rotation. As a result, we can track VR coordinates without using controller or handler provided by VR devices. An RNN-based model is proposed to predict displacement of positions in each timestamp given measured acceleration and Euler angles from sensor signals. Experiments demonstrate that it is effective to predict correct position displacement, which not only models the relationship between sensor signals and displacement but also handles the cumulative errors during tracking.","PeriodicalId":143430,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Symposium on Computer, Consumer and Control (IS3C)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130758866","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To enhance the secrecy outage probability (SOP), we propose and analyze the best relay selection (BRE) and best-path selection (BPA) schemes under Nakagami-m fading environments. Based on the analysis results, we develop a deep learning model for the proposed schemes to evaluate the system SOP. Numerical results show that the BPA scheme greatly outperforms the BRE one, showing the efficiency of the best-path selection approach. A high penetration of wind power generation causes not only frequency instability but also voltage instability. In order to maintain the voltage in an acceptable range, supporting reactive power by wind turbines play a vital role. This paper provides a complete introduction to the reactive power and voltage control of offshore wind farms. Three conventional control modes of wind turbines include power factor control mode, voltage control mode and reactive power control mode. Typically, system operators request that the power factor of the point of connection (POC) of a wind farm is adjusted within a certain range; e.g., from 0.95 lagging to 0.95 leading. If the wind farm has insufficient capability to maintain an appropriate voltage range, the system needs other appropriate measures, such as the adaptive Q-V scheme or other methods. Additionally, the efficiency of High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission system has been improved significantly. A HVDC system is competitive for a long distance, and it controls the active power and reactive power independently. Thus, this paper also discusses about the reactive power and voltage control by voltage-source-converter based HVDC systems.","PeriodicalId":143430,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Symposium on Computer, Consumer and Control (IS3C)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130983584","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
